My mom has a Droid 3 and she was told by ATT that Verizon puts a lock on some phones, including her model, that disabled it from ever changing services. How can I remove this lock. She is not rooted but I can fix that, as I'm sure it would be necessary.

There is a guide to do it and you must get the network unlock code they are like three bucks on ebay. For myself it took like an hour max

Does the unlocked version of the HTC One work on AT&T LTE? Has anyone bought the unlocked version (sim unlocked) and uses at&t LTE on it

I have the unlocked developer edition on at&t in NYC. Works fine.
Sent from myPhone that killed yours.
HTC One - 64 GB Dev. Edition
The dev edition and the unlocked are the same with the bands I believe so anyway

Working just fine with unlocked 32gb on AT&T LTE. During setup I put in my dim and selected AT&T and the phone did the rest.
Not done a speed test with it yet though.

So I was just looking at my apn settings the phone auto selected for me and see the apn type is "phone." Anyone think there is an advantage to changing that the "ptn?"

Hello
Ive seen a couple of leak pictures of a Droid 5 and Im intrested but only if it has a unlocked bootloader and if custom ROMs can be flashed. I wanted to know how is this going in the new Moto X phone now that Google is involved.
Thank you
New boss same as the old boss. Still locked down in the US on AT&T and VZW.
It is not the manufacturer who is the problem with locking down the bootloaders. It is the carriers that are requiring it. Motorola wants to sell the phone, AT&T and VZW say well you have to lockdown the bootloader if you want to use it on our network. So Motorola says alright. Thats why they will offer a Developer Edition, because if you buy the phone outright at full price, AT&T and VZW are unable to control it.
But on the bright side, the T-Mobile version will not be locked down per Motorola as far as we know. So there may be a chance to find a factory restore image for T-Mobile and push it to the AT&T model and resolve this issue.
I currently am using an LGOG from AT&T and while I was able to unlock it, there were alot of kernel issues at first with the phone due to LG. But we were able to flash the Nexus 4 factory restore image via the LG software and basically have an Nexus 4 and be able to use any of their roms. Just wait for it to get popular and get some Devs behind the phone.

The only way to flash Roms will be if someone introduces exploit similar to the one on S4. the game has changed and old ways of hacking changed.

Letts give it some time for people to get their phones. Maybe that'll get the ball rolling.

OK, also sorry for making two threads. Didnt remember....
I finally succeeded in unlocking my HTC One. Like most of those who are using these phones on domestic networks, I am experiencing the issue where my signal is dropped randomly and I have to manually reselect tmobile to gain service. I noticed a fix was posted that involved enabling a r-uim only mode. This, however, did not fix my issue. Has anybody found a solution to this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
