What is AICP?
AICP is known by someone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since than evolved as a mature rom with the BEST community you can find!!!
Rom has always been AOKP based so expect all AOKP goodies + new additions.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or AOKP team if it conserns their modifications. This rom isn't AOKP supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

What's Broken:
ROMS
ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy KK. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
How to flash:
Don't do it if you don't know it
ROM has gapps persistance in between dirty flashes

FYI,
after flashing aicp_v500_kitkat-3.5-NIGHTLY-20140416.zip
my tablet after some time of showing the boot-up animation, screen turned off and it got pretty hot (tried it twice, same result)
so in case you're wondering whether your device it's broken - it's not
just try flashing again or another nightly :fingers-crossed:

This rom feels great. After testing almost all the others. I found that if I use adaway it works some time and then ads are back, don't know why?

since a few days i use aicp 4.0 release... im not a power user and the last days i have my v500 not much used (only a little email, facebook, google and a few video clips) but i think the battery life is amazing

App circle bar works perfect, nice Feature... Included ad blocker works
Not on every Website, maybe its because we cant add Filter like germanlist in adblock plus app

Installation instructions so If installing for the first time:
To install this ROM you will need to have an unlocked boot loader and a custom Recovery such as TWRP or ClockWorkMod installed
Copy the downloaded AOSB to your phone.
Update recovery, is required for install android kitkat
Boot into your recovery
Back up your ROM
Enter recovery
Make full wipe "included "system"
Select Recommended kernel for first install
Install the ROM
Install GAPPS package
Reboot - the first boot can take up to 2 minutes
Recommended to Reboot again after ROM is up for the first time
2 second to up ! and 1 second to restart or shutdown ! It is AOSB

was hesitating at first to flash this ROM but after finally flashing all I can say is wow!.... For the first time I have a rom with everything I want including a very decent boot animation....I hope u keep developing this ROM...

Fabulous ROM, thx dev, workng as smooth as an official build, I've just noticed a FC on sounds Pack in sound settings, dont even know what's that option for...

Try to open it again it'll open without FC, and as i remember, sound pack option is for changing the sound for clicking, turning screen on and off.... etc, but it doesn't work fore me.

I don't know if this is a bug or if it's just me;
Whenever i change default Keyboard (Swiftkey is what's oin mind here)
The keyboard always(!!) changes back to aosp keyboard. ALWAYS.
The solution that I found, was to delete the LatinIME input mode from system apps. This should really not be necessary.

Great ROM, used to have AICP on my One X.
I'm missing the hardware button remapping though and pretty sure that there's a memory leak issue, usually on AOSP I have 200 to 500 MB of free RAM and on this ROM it boots with ~360MB and declines all the way down to around 80MB and even got to 15MB so I'd appreciate it if you'll check that out and add the button remapping, other than that I think it's all good.
Edit: definitely a memory leak. Gives negative numbers as free memory.

check free ram in settings=>apps=>running apps, cause somethime ram bar goes mad..
. @oblikas : nice rom, using it as daily driver..
Battery notification light is not working, also no setting in notification light...
Also please add brightness slider in notification drawer.

Please test Battery notification & Led color settings with today's nightly.. We added some patches about them yesterday ...
And... About hardware key mapping... Did you ever tried to re-map them from Rom Control -> Hardware Keys ?

there is nothing in hardware keys..
.
and also, in other roms, if enable navbar and add menu button in it, then menu overflow button in apps is always gets disable, but in your rom, overflow button in apps still appears, so if press menu button, menu is coming from upper corner, not from bottom centre..
for test, try whatsapp, ex dialer apps on temasek rom and this rom, you will see difference..

Hardware key backlight's won't stay off. Select to turn off in device setting's and then lock and unlock screen. Backlight's are active again.

Some users reported that AICP on i9300 have issues with free RAM... Can you test ıf they are present with mentioned custom kernel?
We are on CM's stock kernel - so expect same bugs and issues.... If I ain't wrong, SlimRom's kernel includes too many changes from Boefla Kernel...
If It's fine, we can switch then....
I'll provide some test builds.. Let we test and watch for issues...

Not only the RAM bar, settings also shows about the same, just not negative numbers, crashed 5 times while browsing with music and some IM apps in the background, because of the RAM. Maybe it's just a configuration but I didn't change anything.

I'm using boeffla kernel and there are RAM issues and I tried using the configuration which I had on every AOSP ROM and works great but had issues with RAM with/without co configuring.

ROM is really promising, congratulations.
Some issues found:
Quiet hours is not linked to the toggle and honestly I've been not able to found quiet hours settings
Lock screen button configuration is empty
Miss profile toggle to switch profiles
Navring when activated works but is invisible
Ota app don't start
Some suggestion if I can:
Add slim pie
Add new app ops with autostart option settings for each app
Add a toggle if possible for negative screen mode and driving mode
With these little adjustments ROM would be perfect

Dirty Unicorns is a custom ROM built with stability in mind and optional customization. The idea to start this ROM began out of pure boredom around 4.1.2 on the EVO 3D and later turned into a form of an addiction (a good one) to see where we could go from there. We have since expanded to more devices to include the HTC One M7,M8, Nexus 5, LG Optimus GEE, and many more. We quickly realize that users loved what we were doing as well as other developers because it was done the right way. We've always had fun doing it and take pride in knowing that we've done it without having to bug the end user for donations to pay for server costs and/or any of those sob stories you hear. This ROM is 100 percent free and will remain that way.
Those wanting to use our ROM as a base are more the welcomed to do so but please maintain the credits/thanks below, do not ask for donations as it wouldn't be fair to do so considering and let us know as we often like to contribute to other projects.

I must say that this seems to be running pretty smooth! I have had it running for about 30 minutes so far and the only thing I have noticed it that the left side is a little warm. Is this ROM aokp or cm based? Other than that GREAT JOB TO THE DEV!!

Im sorry but I can't reproduce this. I have completely wiped mine and have superuser just fine. Under Settings do you have a SuperSU option at the bottom?

Any chance to port it to N5100?

I do have it in settings and if I run root checker it validates that I have root. I don't know why I was getting those messages. It seems to be working fine and all of my root required apps are functioning just fine. Must have been a glitch because I didn't have super SU in settings at first when I first posted.
This ROM is amazing. I have my favorite that I always go back to as I like to try them all and this is now one of my favorite.

I really like the pic that is in the boot animation and was hoping it would be in the wallpapers. There are some awesome pics in that but no red unicorn. I was wondering I'f you could take that red shot of the dirty unicorn and incorporate it somehow into the wallpaper selections?

I am inlove!!!!! The only two issues I am having is the my documents keeps forceclosing and when I charge my device while it is turned off it does not show the battery gauge animation. Other than that, this ROM is AMAZING! Thank You!

The only problem I found is that in Settings -> Buttons there isn't a place to configure the frontal physical buttons (home, back, menu). How can I set Home Long Press to open recent apps?

That's the link. It automatically downloads the rom when you click on it. You may want to check you file manager as you may already have it if you clicked on that link.

About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first created based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean because of curiosity. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device (EVO 3D). Since then many others have joined the project and it has grown a whole lot. We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours and many of our contributors have gone to help other projects and that is ultimately why we do what we do.
Once Jelly Bean was over, we decided in Kitkat to move to a new base which was OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting because it challenged us to see what we could with something different.
With Lollipop, we have moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. That said it has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward.
Few more things we will say is that we don't accept nor ask for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc.....
We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask is that you search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!

AICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year, we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.

Don't disable Heads-Up. You wont be able to answer phone calls otherwise.
There is screen tearing on the first boot. It will go away once you cycle the screen off and back on.

ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy Lollipop. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
How to flash:
Don't do it if you don't know it
ROM has gapps persistance in between dirty flashes
KERNEL:
Kernel in this rom follows CM source with custom additions.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash over OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use CWM and OTA app, but only to download zip file and flash it manually from within recovery. Zip gets saved under AICP_ota folder on your internal SDcard.

This is the plain-jane version no kernel tweaks, no fancy toolchains. I'm getting okay battery life, but I still need to charge it everyday.

Hello, without modding i got a battert life like one day with the screen on,4h

Any way to disable heads up in this ROM? It isn't doing anything and heads up keep appearing. Also tried disabling it with GravityBox but didn't work.

Latest nightly is pretty weird. Settings is crashing and there's no AICP extras.

edit: did a fulll wipe and clean install and everything was ok..

I've been running this ROM with Beeeto's SaberMod Kernel. 0 compatibility issues. The only issue I've ever had is an issue with ambient display causing a black screen after phone calls or after deep sleep. I've had this issue on every ROM with that feature. Soooo great work! =D

I'm doing the same thing. Beautiful.
I'm also having the same issue with the ambient display.
Try gravity screen app. It's worth it.

I'm using this ROM too, but with it's default kernel. I'm getting a very good battery life here.

today i had the black screen issue twice within an hour. first one after a "app not working" message and the other one totally random after waking up from deep sleep.
and i'm not using ambient display anymore.

Just flashed the newest nightly from 6/12 and it seems promising. But does anyone know why the Settings keeps asking for superuser permissions? I don't have anything like Kernel Adiutor or the built in Ad Blocker (which doesn't work, by the way), turned on, but it still pops up. I just set SuperSU to deny it and disable the notifications, but it's still annoying to know it keeps asking. I wonder if it will affect the battery in any way if it keeps waking the phone up to ask for permissions.
EDIT: I've run into issues using AdAway with this ROM. Every time I reboot, it must change the hosts file because the ad blocker is "disabled" when I use my web browser and when I launch AdAway. Furthermore if I allow the Settings app superuser permissions, it seems to disable the adblock every time its request is granted. Therefore if you use AdAway, remember to re-download the host files after every reboot, and to deny the Settings app any superuser permissions. I recommend disabling toast notifications for Settings so you don't get notified every time it makes a request.

Great rom, daily driver but in last nightly battery is out of place when opening quick menu of data. Will this be fixed? Also any possibility to add the default font of the clock in status nar instead of the 'fine' font? If I select 'bold' for clock the clock is way fatter then default lollipop clock.. Also bug: rotation icon doesn't change in QS menu.
