This has been asked/answered many times.
As kwyrt said, No.
If/when something is out, you'll see a big thread about it. For now, don't hold your breath.

I have a Dev edition and have unlocked my bootloader and rooted. My next question is there any benefit to relocking bootloader and keeping root? In addition is there any benefit to flashing original recovery? I mainly wanted root for Xposed.
Simple answer no and no. You only need stock recovery if you want to take an ota

No, but if you're using a custom kernel, you'll brick the phone.

Totally Right, check very well what are you have on your phone then do what you want to do. Relock Bootloader can be possible with Stock Kernel only.

Unless you just downgrade your phone to any version without unlocking your bootloader, your warranty remains intact. :good:
Press thanks if you think I helped. :good:

It depends upon on what procedure you followed to root your phone. Was it the long and conventional method or the short and simple towel root..... If you have unlocked your bootloader then lock it using backup ta else if you rooted using towel root then no worries, simply go ahead with flashing your old FTF file.
Is it possible to downgrade to 4.3 without unlocking the bootloader?
I really need root but I can't unlock the bootloader since I need the warranty too.
Thanks!
Hi, I could be wrong, but I believe even with having an unlocked bootloader, you wont be able to downgrade to 4.3. You should however be able to root once you unlock your bootloader. Sadly, I believe there is no method currently of rooting your tablet without unlocking it. What do you need root for?

Thanks for your answer, that's what I thought. I did find a guide for downgrading to 4.3, but it seems that it's only working with a unlocked bootloader.
I use root for things like Xposed, Titanium backup etc.

Hi, do you mind linking me to that forum that shows you how to downgrade? I am on 4.3, but I am curious about trying 4.4.2 out and want to be able to bail out if I want to

Why cant you root with HTCDev?
im not sure that the warranty will still be okay if we unlock it
plus the phone is from orange and it might not work

you will loose guarantee either way as the bootloader will show as tempered. More chance to keep it valid if you use the tools HTC provided.
Orange should work just fine. Just try...
On another note i sent 2 phones for repair to HTC "unlocked" and they never charge me for the repair.
yes, i was thinking of only gettin root and not unlocking bootloader

You can undo the root and unlocked bootloader, before you send it to HTC. If you cannot undo because you have too big problems with the phone (frozzen phone,...) they cannot controll it either.

yes you can undo and get back to full stock but hboot will show "Relocked" so they will know you mess with it.
