I have seen you mention ROM Manager and Clockwork recovery. Neither of these are compatible with the AT&T Note 3. PM & I will help out.

[Q] Am I rooted or not rooted ?

Hi,
I am trying to figure out whether my Samsung Note N7000 is rooted or not.
I thought I have rooted it as there is a superuser app on the phone. But when I run a root checker app it tells me my phone is not rooted, I tried running rooted apps but not able to so I guess the phone is not rooted.
So I tried rooting my phone again using Superoneclick 2.3.1.0 but the program tells me my phone has ALREADY BEEN ROOTED and whether I want to proceed or not. I select to proceed but Superoneclick hangs at "Shell rooting device... - Step #7" "WaitForDevice"
Both the USB debugging and unknown sources boxes are ticked, SD card unmounted.
Can anyone help ?
Open your superuser app,. A dialogue will popup saying "Update SU Binary" click accept. Then everything will work again.

unpacking sutools...okay !
checking current install path... /system/xbin/su
Downloading new binary...okay !
Gaining root access... fail !

If you think you have cwm recovery (check it by holding volume up+home+power down) then install both the zip (download from the link
http://downloads.androidsu.com/superuser/su-bin-3.1.1-arm-signed.zip
http://downloads.noshufou.netdna-cdn.com/superuser/Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip
And if you don't have cwm recovery just go to the link posted in above post

Hi,
I managed to root my phone and want to say thank you to every one for their input and help.:good:
regards

Changed SD card now it says the root folder isn't found?

I rooted my device and installed IHackers rom, now it says that it can't find the root when I open superSU.
The error is there is no su binary installed and supersu cannot install it. this is a problem

I fixed it, so you can remove the thread.
For those who are experiencing this problem just flash the supersu zip into your phone in recovery mode http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053
Alright this happened yet again today and I can't do anything, after the ROMflash it looks like my recovery mode has been deleted so I can't flash the supersu zip, what should I do?
The error is "there is no su binary installed and supersu cannot install it. this is a problem"
Searching for this problem in google led me to the answer that no, I can't fix it using google search because that requires a recovery mode which I don't have access to.

No, recovery is implemented in kernel and that will not wipe your data, just be careful with the flashtool and uncheck everything what you don't need, specially "Wipe Data".

So it's a problem, at the moment I don't know any kernel with recovery for locked bootloaders. I think you should take in consideration to flash Stock FTF and wipe everything to make a clean installation and repeat the procedure to get root and recovery on your phone. I think is too compromise.

I don't think it's a good idea. I know you try to do everything you can to keep your data buy actually this will not be possible if you try all the process again. It's recommended to wipe everything to make a clean installation.

What are the latest date stamps on the ODIN files? Are these the ones needed?
I used knoxraidv3.zip dated 2/13/2014 in slot1 on safestrap. I then followed the instructions to back out to the main screen and reboot. Not the instructions to remove the battery that I found later.
I've tried loading the ODIN files dated 1/27/2014 and have also tried to load stock v4.3 files.
Ideas?

Did you use the ToGetBoot files?

Need help with having my note 4 boot again.

Decided to use the twrp app to update my recovery and now it doesnt boot at all, hangs at the recovery booting screen then shows me a screen with like odin info.
I need some major help, I think i have a solution with the PC, however I'm running ubuntu and I'm not sure if odin will work on this. Been trying how to learn if there is a way i can work with odin but every odin + ubuntu/linux tutorial is very outdated
That was the misstep... You don't want to use the trwp app for twrp updates... I have heard that is like a 100% fail ratio... Might have to stary from scratch and odin rom, odin twrp, then go from there... I would just keep clear of the play store twrp app, and stick to odin with twrp updates...

Fixed; was as easy as getting onto odin and flashing a recovery image. Didn't have to revert back to stock and start over. Bless up!
