[Q] Unresponsive Status bar & Nav. bar in full screen video - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

Greetings, I'm using Xperia TX (LT29i), official 4.3 (.205), rooted with locked bootloader.
My problem:
* Unable to normally hide status bar & navigation bar in video players (Sony Movie & MX Player in my device) when screen is touched. Though they hide automatically after 1-2 seconds.
- Not sure to which point the problem started, but I was suspecting it started when I updated Movie 6.1.A.0.18 to 6.2.A.0.8. The problem is probably more implicit but I have no idea how to fix it.
- Tried to clear apps data but problem still persist.
Mod installed so far (in case any of these caused conflict):
1. Advanced Power Menu, Advanced Framework, SuperUser Mod
2. Z2 Settings port
3. Cyber-Shot v2
4. Sony Audio Enhancement
Screenshots:
1. 1st image shows normal Movie layout.
2. 2nd shows the status bar & nav. bar aren't vanished even after triggered (the Movie layout had vanished but those two didn't, they disappeared automatically after 1-2 seconds)
Your kindness to solve this problem is much appreciated, thank you

[MOD][JB][T]Stock ROM upgrade all-in-one from peetr_

Content:
18 notification toggles from lidroid
Shutdown menu with navigation bar switch on/off
Transparent navigation bar
Transparent statusbar
Transparent lockscreen (with landscape layout)
Installation:
Deodexed rom is needed.
Make ROM backup first.
Install from recovery.
Bugs:
Switching nav.bar quickly on/off, returns your wallpaper to the default one. Live wallpaper is not affected.
Don´t switch navigation bar, when you are in camera. Camera cannot handle starting of .SystemUI service. (if you are in camera without buttons, go to album first and switch the nav. bar back there)
Expanded statusbar ends above the navigation bar, even if it´s switched off.
PhotoEditor buttons under nav. bar.
Don´t know...
Instructions:
Shutdown menu with notification toggle is invoked by pressing hw power button and tapping shutdown
To allow navigation bar to switch, you must allow superuser access
Notification toggles have settings in your app drawer named SystemUI settings (all buttons can be turned off)
When the nav. bar is annoying somewhere, switch it off.
Wipe lockscreen data in app settings.
For enabling Home rotation, add "home.land.on=true" in your build.prop

- Home - landscape property (telling it that accessory is connected), bigger wallpaper dimensions, a little faster scrolling speed
- SemcAlbum - only made fully transparent overscroll glow png
- SystemUI - power widget, transparent background for nav. bar and statusbar, changed pixel format for nav. bar, changed flags a little, nav. bar switch property
- TaskSwitcher - layout changed, to be above the nav. bar
- Lockscreen - removed wallpaper service, added transparency and landscape layout, some more touches
- Busybox and navbar.sh for switching nav. bar on/off

Wow,. I'm glad I made a nandroid backup and didn't ' just' try it out.

Is your rom deodexed?
Good one. No it isn't. Maybe I'll do that some other time. For now god luck with your mod
And I'm not sure but don't mods like this belong in themes and apps section?

Well, actually it's not app, it's not theme, and I developed the mod (even if it's dirty). So I think it belongs here.
Hello very good job man
Great MOD
It is possible to made the same MOD with:
1 focus press for enabling
2 focus press for disabling
I don't try already your MOD... but I think if I long press in standby mode for fast capture it will disable the nav bar, right???
Thanks again
Edit: can you share an other link, because it temporarily disable
Of course, the count of presses could be reduced, but it's not a good idea. Still the main idea is well running phone without unwanted actions.
I'll wait until tomorrow and if the link won't be back online, I will reupload.
Edit: Link is back online.

Well done peetr
But How can this be done on the v, it doesn't have a focus key :banghead:
It can be done with proximity sensor, but I am not sure about impact on battery in this case. I will try to test it.
Doesnt seem to be working on hackits rom...

Well, try to look in /dev/.keycheck file, if any content is in there, after pressing focus button. If not, there is probably something important missing in the rom.
Maybe init.d is not supported.
I suppose, you flashed this mod in recovery.
You can try to run the script in terminal and watch for some error - "/system/bin/mksh /system/bin/navbar.sh"

But probably not this weekend.
Still working on notification toggles.

[Q] Settings that I miss?

Hi there, now that I've had the SP for 1 day there are some features/settings that I can't seem to find, maybe you can help me out:
- Deactivate the warnings when switching on/off 3g --> that's pretty annoying that I have to clear the notification every time I switch it on/off
- Customize the lockscreen music player --> I would like to use google music as standard player
- Access the internal storage from my Mac (apparently it only works for the additional SD card)
- Being able to edit the shortcuts in the status bar?
- Make Google Music cache music on the external SD card
- disable Google Now completely, longpress on the headset still activates it even if you switch it off
- certain apps have a wider/extended info in the notification bar (Battery widget reborn, beautiful widgets, poweramp) but once expanded it's really really hard to compress them again, out of 50 tries I only managed about 2 times.. is there a magic spot to start from?
More to come...

Sorry to sound unhelpful, but most customisation / editing / deactivating / disabling will only be possible after you've rooted your phone. And even then, it might be hard work. Once rooted and backed up you can start experimenting.

1st change requires a different phone apk, so you need root.
As for the last question, press near the bottom of the notification with 1 or 2 fingers and slide upwards.

Google search bar keeps coming back after disabling (Euphoria ROM)

I have the latest version of Euphoria v1.1 ROM installed on my nexus 6, on the top of my home screen there's the persistent Google search bar, so I just long tap the home screen>settings>disable show search bar. When I return back to the home screen the Google search bar on top is no longer there. Problem is it keeps coming back sometime after 5 - 10 minutes even though it's disabled in settings and when it reappears it's partially loaded (not showing the full widget of the google search bar). So I have to long tap the home screen again>settings>enable the search bar and disable it again for it to be removed. Why is this happening and how can I stop the persistent google search bar from returning to my home screen? I still use the google search app so I don't want to permanently disable/uninstall it.
I did the following so far:
- uninstalled the stock google app, rebooted my phone and downloaded the latest version from app store but still having the same issue.
- I also tried this on another nexus 6 phone running the same Euphoria v1.1 ROM and it has the same issue.
- After disabling the persistent search bar I manually added the Google search bar widget to the home screen, but again 5-10 minutes later the disabled search bar still reappears on the top screen partially loaded.
I was able to resolve this issue using a working around, I did not want to install a 3rd party launcher and ended up coming across this fix through Xposed Installer:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
- I downloaded and copied the following files to my phone XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk & xposed-v74-sdk22-arm.zip
- After installing Xposed I went to the play store and installed Xposed GEL Settings (activate module in Xposed Installer and then I rebooted phone)
- I long tapped the home screen>settings>disabled show search bar
- I opened the Xposed GEL Settings app>menu>google search bar>enable hide option and rebooted phone
- After phone rebooted the persistent google search bar was no longer on top of my screen and never reappeared

Instructions:
1. Start from stock 118, clean flash, boot to recovery and flash deodex zip, (takes about 10 minutes). Then boot phone until you get to home screen
* 1a. If you want fingerprint support, you need to start from European firmware, (fingerprint disabled in US fw; I don't know about other regions. I tested with CE1 customization), and use CE1_118_deodex zip
2. Power off, boot to recovery, and flash eXz zip. IMPORTANT - You will need your own boot img. The one included in the zip will not work on XC. I didn't include it in the zip, because everyone's is different, especially if you use rootkernel with TA mounted, (like I do), so you have to have a backed up boot img, with Magisk (SuperSU might work too - I haven't tried), that you need to flash before you reboot. Easiest thing is probably to flash Magisk on your stock rom, then make a backup in TWRP, then wipe everything and follow these instructions from scratch, and when you get to this point, go to 'Restore' in TWRP menu, select your backup, and uncheck everything except 'boot', then swipe to restore your boot img. If you know how to use dd command, you can just do that and have a backed up boot img file on your phone that you can flash at this point, or, if you did use rootkernel, you probably still have a copy of your boot img in the rootkernel folder. Whatever the case, flash your boot img here
3. Reboot
Summary:
1) Flash stock 118
2) Flash deodex zip (if you want fingerprint support, flash CE1 version, [maybe good idea to choose the same version in Flashtool initially also
I don't know if it matters], If not, pick either one)
3) Boot the phone and go through setup until you get to the home screen
4) Power off, boot to recovery, and flash eXistenZ zip - don't turn the phone on
5) Flash a rootkernel-modified boot img for your phone. You can do this with fastboot, or restore from a backup in TWRP
Notes:
- Don't do any data wipes after you boot (after deodex). Just start from clean stock and follow steps
- When flashing exz zip, watch for prompt at SELinux zip. First press volume up when prompted, then press volume down to set SELinux permissive
- Exz zip deletes Swiftkey and replaces it with Xperia keyboard, so you have to enable it in settings to have any keyboard
- Phone will be a bit laggy at first, while it does all of it's optimizations/updates, etc. After all done and a couple of reboots, will be fine
- One user here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79054646&postcount=146 - said he got bootloop unless he flashed the modified boot.img before booting the deodex. I didn't have to do that, but if you have that issue, might be worth a shot. Note that you will still have to flash the boot.img again at the end, because eXistenZ zip will overwrite it.
- If battery care app won't open, see post 211 and 212 - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79118700&postcount=212
Bugs:
I don't know of any. Let me know if you find them, because I told niaboc79 I wouldn't post this unless bug-free

not happening for me.
1 - Do you have any other apps or mods that affect power or charging etc, that might be causing a conflict? Or, what power - related settings do you have set, either in Sony settings or eXistenZ? (stamina, etc...)
2 - if not, try to get a log when it happens. You can use Matlog app on the phone if you want.

I'll try it out, but the problem is not with your zip, but just with deodexing. I start from clean stock, then deodex and wipe, and the phone is very laggy - too much to be able to use it... If I use your init.d so scripts, it helps, but still some issue...
Maybe something to do with this...
update - solved it by putting /system/framework/arm64 folder back. Not sure if it's a fix or workaround... Is there any issues with that?

Stealth update changed a lot of settings. Hacked? please help!

Phone: ROG 2 tencent on 16.0632.1910.64-0 build (android 9), rooted
Sometime around 14/10/20 or a few days earlier there was a strange "mini update" pushed to my phone. I do not have system updates enabled. No reboot occured.
I cannot tell if it was a virus, a hack or some broken update.
Some of these settings were easy enough to change back to what I used, but I want to know why it happened in the first place.
I have google play updates hidden from notification bar so I definitely missed some things. The only app i saw update was gboard, but it's safe to assume others did stealthly.
I will list what I know:
gboard re-enabled itself and updated itself. It was never enabled or the default keyboard.
all systemUI tuner settings reset, all flat style bar indicator settings reset
the entire UI was changed, navigation bar virtual key r now more compact (closer to each other) (this does not appear to be a setting i can change with anything i have installed?)
about half the system settings are reset to default values, the status bar now displays download speed amongst other things
the navigation bar and status bar now both have fully transparent backgrounds in most programs, i can't recall the specifics but it never was that many previously.(cannot fix)
The status bar text no longer changes color and is permanently white, if I use a white background program like most google programs, the entire status bar is now invisible. (cannot fix)
default Messages app disabled itself and reinstalled itself, resetting all settings, meanwhile ASUS data transfer became the default SMS program. Messages app also got cloned to work profile (shelter app) without user input.
Any ideas please?
I'm thinking google IME or systemtunerUI updates broke something, or a remote hack, but I don't know. Just to be safe i disabled updates on those apps. But google play is known to sometimes not respect ur per app auto-update settings.
I don't want to have to fight my phone to get it to work.
Please, i am at a loss.
