I always get a reboot when mounting USB storage?
There's a bug in MIUI 4 with app2SD. If there is an application installed on SD card and you try to mount the USB storage, MIUI will crash. An example of such application is XDA app. Currently a workaround is to move the application to phone's internal storage by going to Settings > Apps > USB Storage, select the application and click "Move to phone" button. (Note that you may get a hot reboot) After that, do a normal reboot before trying to mount USB storage. This problem was fixed in MIUI 2.2.17.
Can you translate this ROM to <language>?
No I cannot translate it. But if you can provide a link to a translated MIUI 4 ROM (latest version is preferred), I can grab the translation from there and include it in this ROM.
I get an orange text bubble near notification bar saying "New notification received bla bla bla" and I cannot use my keyboard anymore?
It is MIUI way to introduce some features of their ROM on first installation. Just swipe down the notification area and clear any notifications there. After that your keyboard should work properly.
Why shouldn't I install a language pack from different version of MIUI?
A language pack is basically all system applications and frameworks with translation added to them. If you install a language pack from a different (e.g. older) version, it means you're running older applications and frameworks against newer libraries, modules, etc. It may work if you're lucky, but the worst that could happen is your phone won't be able to boot properly and you will have to re-flash the ROM.
What is Auto-dim backlight? (quoted from Peter Alfonso's FAQ)
Unfortunately, automatic brightness in stock ROMs is only half functional. To further explain, automatic brightness will ONLY get brighter, not dimmer, depending on your surroundings. For example, if you were to be reading a Droid-Life article on your device outside in bright sunlight, your screen would be very bright. If you continued to read (leaving your screen on the entire time) while you walked into your house which is very dark because you left the lights off, the screen would remain being very bright. With the "Auto-dim backlight" setting enabled, your screen would be able to dim back to the appropriate level when you walked into your dark house.

To be honest, I'm not sure about that. But if a reboot after replacing the apk didn't help, I would try removing and adding Google account again.
Thank you for adding Google Photos sync, I've been waiting for it to find its way back into a MIUI 4 rom. We surely miss the Brainmaster..
This rom sounds really promising, I'll flash and report back.
Edit: The Gallery sync only syncs my public photo albums, which is about 1% of my photos on Google. :-( Hope you can fix this, until then I'll revert to Brainmasters MIUI 2.3.7b final.

That's strange. I just created an album in Picasa Web Albums with visibility set to "Only you" and it synced just fine to my Nexus S :/

Installation instructions:
Though the ROM is NoWipe, PLEASE FullWipe before installing!!! Regardless from which ROM you are coming! You won't regret - promised!!! FullWipe is at least needed, to make SPlanner and included Calendar working properly - even if you were on other unofficial MIUI before!
a) coming from Rocket MIUI v6 - v7 :
just flash over with Wiping Caches before in Recovery
==> but FullWipe is recommended before installing any new release!!
b) coming from any other ROM (including any MIUI-ROM!!!):
download any Hydracore Kernel from gavins thread in 'Original Android Development' (if you already have installed a brick free kernel, you don't have to do step 1. - 5. - but be sure you have!!!)
put zip-file on your USB-storage
boot in Recovery
Flash Hydracore Kernel!!!
boot back in recovery!!! (you find this option under 'advanced')
FullWipe
Flash ROM
reboot system
..you are done
Known issues :
SMemo 'Lock Function' will lead to Forceclose - using SMemo without it works fine

thank you for this ROM, will definitely flash it once up, i was just wondering if there's a specific reason why u used HydraCore 3.5 and not 4.3b? I know i can flash 4.3 after or replace it in zip file from begining, i'm just curious

there were issues with USB storage with 4.3b for lots of users (including me)

Hi Eybee great work can't wait to use your ROm...this may sound premature but asking...in miui there is a feature "always receive mms" that can be turned on/off. In tw-based miui roms, I noticed this feature does not work (maybe kernel ?) And in newer ones like pvilla's and maxicet newer version.that has been removed from services although it is there in cm9/cm10 miui. 2.3.6 tw roms had it embedded I.e.no option but it was simply there like in your rocket roms la2,3,4 v17 and so on from jan-march this year. Wondering if your rom has that option.or can it be included in future...maybe services.jar Modding? Used to think it was tw limitation.as with 500 call limit but now with a universal type kernel like hydracore it could be maybe possible? THANKS regardless...must say took.your two rocketrom v11 and was shocked how smooth and fast that was!
