Need some info on Ui sound names - Verizon LG G2

I just installed 24a and I'm modding my system ui tones back to what I had before and I can't seem to get the shut down tone to work and I wanted to see if someone could look on their phones and see if I have it named right
Edit** these can be found under system/media/audio/ui

The names look right, but your permissions look wrong.........should be rw-r--r-- not rw-rw----
Try changing the permissions to see if it works.

Good call on that, It still isn't working but it's something that slacked on

[Q] Custom shutdown animations

Does anyone have a custom shutdown animation they would be willing to share or know of a site where I could find one? My google searches haven't turned up anything of quality..
That Verizon shutdown animation is pretty lame. I'd like to replace or remove it as well. I'm sure I can, I just haven't had time to mess around with it.

Check this post out, I am using it for now until something better turns up (meaning it is not the best quality IMO), I suck at this kinda art work, else I'd make my own.

Yep, better than the stoopid VZ one, however still searching for something better myself, besides just had to do it to see if it worked
while it's nothing mind blowing, the quality seems okay for me, and it's FAR better than the lame verizon one.
those verizon animations make me feel like i'm still using my chocolate circa 2006
thanks guys.. I'll give this one a go for now.. anythings better than the awful stock verizon one.
For what its worth I made my own.
Its of my son so none of you would want it but I made it with gimp and just replaced the stock one. Works great.
Weird thing though, when I view the pics in root explorer it shows the verizon pics instead of mine.
Still plays mine but in the file it still looks like the stock pics.

That messed with me for a while. It wasnt til I shut down for something else I noticed it took.
Must have replaced the file 5 times thinking it didn't work.

Although the stock galaxy s shutdown animation isn't the greatest, I have to say its MUCH better than the stock Verizon one. I'm not going to be around a computer for a while, would someone mind posting a silent shutdown.ogg so we could get rid of the stock shutdown sound straight from the phone? Thanks in advance, guys!

here you go, let me know if it doesn't work.
just rename the file to shutdown.ogg

If you are not near a computer and just wanna disable sounds at start and shutdown give this a try:
Go into the Dialer and enter *#83786633 then press the Home key
Go back into the phone dialer clear out previous number and enter *#22745927
Now a box will come up asking for the SPC code. Enter 000000
Press the Hiddenmenu Enable radio button.
Now you can use these codes.
The dialing code string you have to use is *#<code>#
Audio Tuning
*#28346#
Several audio tuning menus.
I've only tested the two items below:
To silence boot and shutdown audio go to Situation/BOOTSOUND and turn the values to 0. I've tested and confirmed this works.

Thanks so much for the reply man, I replaced the stock file with a silent one (available above), so I didn't actually get to try your suggestion, but I still super appreciate the response

That is rad! did exactly what I wanted to do, and without meddling with any internal files.
What are some other hidden tuning menus?

[Q] Boot animation sound

Hey guys I need some help regarding boot animation sound. I am currently running Andromeda 2.0 which comes with SGS tools. It says that if I place a .wav file in SD/sgtools, that will play during boot up... it is not the case though. Anyone know what i'm doing wrong.
Ps: I've tried putting system volume up before rebooting but that is not the problem...

I think that the file needs to have an .oog extension
sent from my Cap using the app.
.ogg is for shutdown sound I think.

I literally answered this question not two days ago: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=932700
it was on page 2 of "themes and apps", even a brief search for "sound" would have found it for you
Thanks, sorry will search better next time.

I think you mean .ogg ...Oog is a town in Somalia.
Make sure you have to set the file to play as the startup sound with sgs tools as well, then tap apply. Just putting the file in SD/sgtools and rebooting isn't enough.

Changing the phone lock sound

As the title says I'm wondering if it's possible to change the sound played as the phone is locked. Im currently using serendipity 6.4. I couldn't find anything in the settings menu about it so I figured I would come here
Sent from my SAMSUNG-CAPTIVATE using XDA App
have you tried searching for apps on market that might aid in this? Some of em might have options in the settings. I really don't know of any, but you could try "lockbot". I think that one lets you change lockscreen and stuff. Then of course you could silence it, but I know that's not what your going for
the sound its located here: /system/media/audio/ui
the screenlock sound is called (oddly enough) Lock.ogg
take a sound you want to use, make sure its .ogg format, rename it Lock.ogg and drop it in the directory i with root exploerer or adb said and reboot. that should work ... havent tried it personally but it should work.

[Q] Need help located things in framework, etc

Just starting to mess around with everything and learning where everything is. I have a few questions though as I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.
Very simple things. Taking baby steps, lol. I changed some splash screens and backgrounds to apps to see if I could get everything to work.
1- Where is the file for the white background for messaging (and gtalk) so I can change it to black.
2- Where is the file for the the green status signal when connected to google. I wanted to change the colors of that but can't seem to find it. I found the icons and everything. 4g had 2, one was green but the rest of the icons weren't there.
I'm assuming there are transparent and a green color is behind them? Or how do they work. Thanks.
well, for your question #1, i can tell you its not in framework-res.apk. Its in each individual apk file for each app .
question #2, It should be located in the same directory with the other icons (which you appear to have explored.). Try doing a search after de-compiling for .png.
Word of advice. Dont mess with .9.png's yet . Get comfortable with the rest first.

I knew each app has their own. I dont seem to see it. I looked at ever PNG in framework I don't see the green ANYWHERE.
did you decompile using APK tool or did you just open with something like 7zip?
Also, haven't played with Gingerbread theming much, but I'd take a peek into SystemUI.apk as well.

There it is! Thanks.
7zip is what I'm using.
Where would the background be to change say the messaging app to black instead of white. What file am I looking for there?

Yep. The signal icons are in the SystemUI.apk. As far as the Gtalk one, I'd check the talk.apk in /system/app, specifically the res/drawable-hdpi folder. It's most likely one of those files; however, I can't say for certain since I've never tried changing that one myself. Same thing for the Messaging app.
Better yet, check out what files this guy edited for his background and look at those ones yourself

The background for the mms apk is controlled via XML. Not sure of the exact name conversation list or something along those lines.

I started to have a feeling it was in there. What's a good XML editor to use for that?

Notepad++
Just remember you need to decompile and recompile an apk when editing xmls.

I guess that would explain why the XML didn't display anything useful in notepad++

Camera Launch Noise

Anyone know how to turn off the camera launch sound ?
Had a quick look around and can't find any way to do it.
Not talking about the shutter sound, it's the noise that it makes when you press the dedicated camera key to launch the camera app.
So that would be no then?

Maybe you can't do it in the Sony stock ROM, if you've rooted your Z1 though you can probably locate the audio file and delete it, or modify the apk file that calls the audio file and delete the line that actually plays the audio file.

Probably would work but find it incredible that such an intrusive noise like this can't be switch off. Currently the only way to stop it is to turn the volume down on the phone.

I just received my device and I'll have a look for you. I can't provide an easy way to disable the sound though since I'm not that good with smali or whatever. But I can probably locate the audio file and tell you about it. Other than that, wait for the custom roms.
Perhaps it can be replaced by a quieter shorter sound, the current noise is the electronic equivalent of Dom Joly shouting 'I'M USING MY CAMERA'.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Okay I found the audio file for you, didn't do it last night because of other things.
It's located here: /system/app/SemcCameraUI.apk/res/raw/start_up_notifier.wav
I assume you can delete it and you shouldn't have the start up sound anymore. The problem at the moment is that unlocking the bootloader breaks the camera, and I don't feel like breaking my camera to try and see if it works.
Just to be save, make sure you backup your "SemcCameraUI.apk" file before modifying it and if things don't do as planned, put it back.
you dont have to unlock the bootloader to delete that file, root is enough.

That's totally true, but you can't modify the odexed apk file. You first have to deodex it, delete it, then odex it again and see if it works.. speaking of which I can give it a shot. Will report back later!
