Hi All
I wanted to flash a custom ROM to Androd 4.3, but anything I do, the device always boots to the 'odin mode' screen.
The device is SUrooted, but knox is still present. I also renamed the /system/etc/install_recovery.sh, the other file was not present...
I tried different combinations with ODIN to flash CWM/TWRP, but my device never wants to boot into recovery
It might be because of the bootloader?
Is there any way to make the recovery mode work or to unlock/change the bootloader?
(I don't care about the warrenty, I just want to flash a custom ROM.... I also don't care if I loose data - so shall I try without a recovery mode?
Thanks for any help

Flash whit CF-auto-root. Download SU form anywhere but not playstore. Install it and disable Knox (Optional user root explorer, search for Knox and delete it)
Hope that will help.
Search forum for this file and flash DE-SAMSUNGNIZER_KNOX_REMOVAL_SCRIPT_V1. Ô All details are within the forum it will remove all the Knot files from device...
no script without recovery
Hi both
Thanks for the help, but
- where do I get a non-playstore superSU app from? I found .zip file, but how can I install them without recovery mode?
- and you mean to just search for any knox files and just delete them via a root exploer applciation also like total commander?
- same for the script. How can I use the script if I cannot get into recovery mode?
Is there anything I could simply flash with odin, or execute from within the OS?
Or do I need terminal emulator etc?
thanks
solved
OK, forget my last post, I foudn the solution:
It works with Odin 3.09
I used 3.07 before, but now I succeeded to get into recovery mode (TWRP), flash SU, remove knox etc
The only downside: after a factory reset (for flashing ROM), the device wouldn't boot into TWRP any more (freeze) and I had to reflash an older version of CWM. And the factory reset wiped my internal SD card, so I had to use an external for flashing ROM etc
thanks anyways

I don't really know what happened, did you successfully flashed kdz?
Where did you get it from? Here?: http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=15
Try to flash one of these (choose correct one for you)
Than you have to install recovery again.
But before that you can try to wipe /system, /data, /cache and then flash CM11 (I know it works without problems)
And I recommend you these Gapps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942

I think you should try with CWM first, get it: http://download2.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.5-p880.img
you can flash it with this app if you are rooted: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cgollner.flashify
then you can download CM11 from here: http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=p880
and gapps from last mine post
and then boot to recovery, do factory reset and wipe /system, then flash rom and gapps.
Hope it helps
Crash After Flash OTA Vanir 5.0
I had a similar experience. I was installing OTA latest update of Vanir...not realising that it was 5.0...a screen came up telling me that it needed to flash another recovery...not realising why it needed that, I ignored the request to flash. Of course, I then "bricked" the phone. I was able to install the original JB 4.12 (v20c) back onto the phone but now it won't root. I've tried almost every method in this forum to no avail.:
ADB just gives a message "error: closing" when I use the boot.exe method
o4xr method does nothing
all-in-one method also does nothing
ADB does recognise the device. Drivers are installed. Any help is welcome!

Have you tried to flash a recovery using fastboot? You won't need to root (if you are going to use a custom ROM) and/or it will be easier with a custom recovery
Soft brick after last update.
Hello,
I seem to have a similar problem. I updated a few days ago using Vanir updater. There were no warnings re updating the recovery, just a warning regarding losing root. I checked restore root. The phone rebooted to the bootloader logo, then to a black screen. Now, I can access Cyanogen recovery, SW update mode, abd fastboot mode using buttons and the recovery options. ADB can see the phone only in recovery mode, but not in fastboot or SW update mode. CM recovery has no option to mount USB storage, so my PC cannot see the phone, and I cannot side load a new recovery and flash a new ROM.
Is there any way to use ADB if it cannot see your phone in fastboot or SW mode? Perhaps modify the settings.secure string to enable ADB? ADB can see the phone in recovery mode.
Otherwise I will try flashing a stock ROM via KDZ or LG firmware update tool, the re-root and proceed - but rooting was a major ordeal the first time, so I would like to avoid doing that again.
Thanks in advance.
I'm what you'd call a super noob at this stuff and I've got my poor little SP in a crazy bootloop... I've tried LITERALLY EVERYTHING the internet has told me to try; wiping every cache out there, flashing custom roms, stock roms, you name it. It began when I just got CWM (don't ask me why it happened then, I have no clue why) and this is even BEFORE I put a ROM on! (I was all ready to put a ROM after getting CWM but bootloop happened).
Note: I have CWM recovery, I think I have lost my stock recovery, if I try some ROMS (ex. CM 12) they give me this error 7, once I found certain ROMS (PACMAN ROM, unofficial stock ROM) that would flash and install, they did but still left me with a bootloop, I have tried wiping so many caches it's not even funny, I've tried flashing the original firmware, nothing works... so I'm here for help.
I have looked at every google link and every method possible in trying to fix this thing! I really can't afford a new phone and I just love this one too much... please help!

http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-sp/development/ubl-twrp-f2fs-support-xperia-sp-huashan-t3150230
Please go to the above link to get TWRP. Also, please keep in mind that TWRP is now the only still supported recovery around. CWM and PhilZ are both really outdated and no longer maintained due to the introduction of Cyanogen Recovery which is very minimal in features.
Once you get yourself the download, extract the files from the zip and get the twrp.img file. We will need this to flash into the boot partition of Xperia SP, granting you a direct boot into recovery once it is flashed. Please then copy the original zip to your sd card, as we will be flashing the original zip via TWRP later to give you access to TWRP in the future.
Using your preferred tool, flash the twrp.img file into the boot partition.
Connect your Xperia SP via fastboot. Make sure SP is shut down, hold volume up key and connect the SP with your computer.
If you're using a fastboot tool via command prompt, the command would be
fastboot flash boot twrp.img
If you're using flashtool, hit the lightning icon in the toolbar, select fastboot mode. Then select "Select kernel to flash". Make sure the file type is "img" else you won't able to find your TWRP img file. Navigate to mentioned img file and select it.
Afterwards, when flashing complete, you may insert sdcard and start the device. It will boot directly into TWRP as we flashed a recovery to the boot partition.
Clean wipe data, cache, dalvik cache, system. You may leave internal storage.
Flash the ROM zip you acquired (make sure file integrity is checked beforehand!) then the TWRP zip earlier. Flashing the TWRP zip grants you a persisting recovery, as explained in the linked thread.
You may now reboot and enjoy
Hi, I need help with a (possibly) soft bricked phone. It boots, yet it reboot itself once it tries to read the multimedia files in the internal storage. The owner is a co-worker so I really don't know how or what could possibly trigger this behavior (a virus perhaps?). The device is not rooted, even if I set usb debugging it just keep rebooting and losing all configuration. Uninstalled apps respawn again once it reboots. I tried to flash it with many Odin versions to a proper stock rom, but when the device reboots all the files remain the same, as if nothing were ever done. I tried wiping everything from recovery mode, didn't work either. Whenever I enter recovery mode it updates some files and says it can't gain access to CSC. I'm not an expert on repairing phones so I'm already out of options, any suggestion would be appreciated.
Edit: Android version is 2.3
Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2100642
The guide is meant for Jelly Bean, but works even with Gingerbread and should repair the csc.

Didn't work either. All files are still there after rebooting. CSC still fails to load in recovery.
I saw some people with this issue in other android devices, it seems the problem is a corrupted internal memory (nothing can be erased or written). I may just give up
Try to perform this shell command:
mke2fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p3
It will force the format of system partition. You can do it with the Terminal included in TWRP recovery for Gingebread. Once done, you'll have to flash a firmware with Odin to rewrite the system partition.

I can't install custom recoveries, it doesn't recognize external storage and not even Odin can rewrite the recovery.
If you're sure that you can't install TWRP with Odin then I don't know how you could solve your problem, sorry. :/
@Cassiusss Hey Bro,
I have been using epirex cm13 builds
but later these days, i didnt used it much as i was flashing around on my 1+3.
Now, i cant boot in recovery and bootloader, whenever i reboot to recovery or bootloader it boots back to rom.
i try adb commands and flashing recoveries through app but didnt work.
Also I tried odin flash it but as it cant boot in bootloader, how can i revert back.
I am using 12 june build Cm13.
Please help.
Try to reboot to recovery or in download mode with this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.antaresone.quickreboot
Anyway, what error is shown when you try to flash a recovery?

I tried ur mentioned app but it again takes 1-2 secs and boots to system.
I also extracted out boot.img from cm13 and flashed it through rashr but after flashing it again booted to system.
Also tried to factory reset from phone but surprisingly it again didnt show anything and booted to system.
Can You tell me any method to HARD RESET or format its system partition so i can odin it ezily.
I think that formatting system will not bring back recovery or download mode.
What's important is to gain access to download mode (because without it you can't use Odin).
Are you sure that booting your phone while pressing "Volume down" + "Home" + "Power ON" keys is ineffective?
Maybe you'll need an USB JIG to force the download mode...
I guess your device memory is broken. Because my friend's ace3 had the same problem with you, and the service center said that the emmc had been broken. So no hope at all
I can't use my internal storage!! Cant copy anything into it!! It does show that thier is internal storage shows that its free but cant copy anything into it??? I have twrp in my phone but after a factory reset in vanished!! I rooted my phone installed than uninstalled it!!! Any help?
Next time, root and install TWRP again!
Why the hell do you need to ****ed up your phone guys? Is the stock firmware not enough for you?
I'm not sure whether he wants to copy stuff into internal storage via TWRP recovery or while the phone is booted up.
Mounting issue usually means you tried to factory reset via TWRP when it probably should of been done via unlock bootloader method.
I don't think I ever did factory reset via TWRP when upgrading from Marshmallow to Nougat + Debranding + Root.
If u are using the old (wrong) twrp recovery you are not able to use your internalstorage while booted into recovery, but it should be accesable if u boot into android.
Since there is only systemless root for our device your system partition dont get touched while rooting, but if u flash SuperSu.zip which is not specially for EMUI5 (there is a special one), you maybe tried the wrong SuperSu.zip file and you "****ed" up your SystemPartition - you need to flash the right system.img now - just use official firmware and start rooting from scratch.
What you do now?
READ

READ
Flash the rollback package.
Install desired firmware.
Unlock Bootloader
Flash TWRP
Flash SuperSu.zip for EMUI5 in TWRP.
Thanks for all of you guys!!! I have just got out of this ****!!!
The problem was i was not able to copy anything into my internal storage no even install apps from play store!!! !!! But it is resolved!!! Thanks for you reply guys
Hello friends, I've been trying to fix a giant problem with my son's cell phone for three days ... He asked me to rotate it, but I brickee it, I comment on what happens and what I did:
specs:
Glaxy A6 + (SM-A605GN)
1-install TWRP by ODIN (Correct installation)
2-Install TWRP files "force_encryption_disabler, RMM State Bypass and non-verity-opt-encrypt (I think here is my mistake, since I do not know the functions of these files, in my time of Flasheo does not exist) I take it out of this tutorial: androidinfotech.com/root-samsung-galaxy-a6-plus-2018-sm-a605f-fn-gn-pie/)
Error 3-First; I didn't have access to the internal memory in the TWRP, so I followed this tutorial youtube.com/watch?v=bqyVQCGlyqs) to change the partition system so I could access the internal memory correctly
4- Install the Magisk correctly through the TWRP
5- Restart (And my hell began) ...
a- TWRP informs me that I did not have OS installed on reboot
b- When restarting the screen it tells me: Set guarantee bit: Kernel (in yellow)
c- Try to install the Firmware Stock by Odin, but I can't, it doesn't throw me an error, but it doesn't install anything at all, IT KEEPS ME THE TWRP INTACT
d-Download a Modified ROM, the installation by TWRP and it was installed correctly, but the SIM card does not work (I assume it is because it has a different modem) and I get an error for almost everything L
I want to go back to the Stock ROM but ODIN does nothing ... Please I need your help.
I can access Download and TWRP mode.
discuss the translation ...
Friends, any ideas ?? ... any help is appreciated.
As you already flashed twrp, so i think you know how to go download mode. Just see any youtube video how to flash stock rom on s8/s9. Download your latest firmwere from sammobile or samfrew and flash. Procedure is same as s8 or s9.

What kind of error? or it flashes perfectly? Give us something.. Photo of odin and your phone's download mode screen...
When you first time booted twrp, you needed to click on wipe > format data. This will decrypt your phone (and it wipe your internat storage) then you can flash rmm and no verity. After that, click on reboot > recovery and then reboot > system (or flash magisk). Recommended to flash latest rmm and no verity.
