dodgy back button since jb

Hey guys just wondering if anyone else has an annoying side effect since jb in that in a large number of apps since i have upgraded the back button cause a double tap specifically in forum apps. So for example pressing back once will go back 2menu items or if there aren't2 left to go back then the app will reload itself, i have to Say it is quite annoying! Worth stating that it happens even when using the in app back function too

Can you name the app? Because I don't think I have such a bug. Would love to try the app you're having problem with.

apps in question are avforums and hotukdeals (there are 2 separate apps I have tried) doesnt do it in all apps and doesnt do it in browser so not really sure what is happening but certainly only started when i installed the leaked jb and also with the official one.

Tried installing AV Forum n Hot UK Deals. Been navigating those app for 20 minutes each and the back button are just fine.

Horrible Multitasking?

I posted this in the Sprint HTC One forums and got little in reply, let me know whose you guys think
I don't know if this is an issue with 4.3 specifically because I don't recall if this was happening since I installed the update..but my multitasking with this phone has been horrible lately. I mean no matter what app I switch to it begins to reload, even if it's the last one I used or a light application (ex Google Now to Messaging). I already found it frustrating how upon switching apps with this phone it would show you a frozen image for a brief moment before before allowing you to interact with the actual application, but now apps are actually having to reload. I'm using apex pro and it's also redrawing nearly every time I go back to the homescreen, be it from internet, floorboard, messaging etc. Not sure why it's happening but it started like a week ago and my phone has been feeling pretty ****ty because of it. My GS4 w/touchwiz has less multitasking issues than this phone right now, any ideas on what's going on? Stock unrooted 4.3

Isn't there a specific setting that locks the launcher in memory to prevent the redraws? Are you running a custom rom or you're using apex on a stock rom?

There is that setting, but when it's enabled a notification sits in the dropdown that says to remove apex from the permanent memory, you can't swipe it away either. Really stupid, never seen a phone with that notification before, my s2 with 1gb of ram multitasked amazing. Regardless it's all aspects of multitasking not just launcher redraw, if I switch from messages to setting and then back to massages, it'll have to reload regardless of how light of an app it is.
Stock unrooted 4.3. Rebooting gives me a few days without hindrance but eventually the problem resurfaces, I barely have any apps installed and none of them are out of the ordinary.

[Q] Need your help - Hardware buttons stop working

Hey, guys. I need your collective genius. I have a weird issue with my Note 3 that I can't figure out and it's driving me crazy. Basically, after a random period of time, my home button will stop working for single press (so, I can't go home). Long press still takes me to multitasking and the back and menu softkeys still work, but after the device turns off, the power button will not turn it back on. A reboot always fixes the issue, but then it crops up again later at a random time.
Relevant info:
I am rooted
I have Adaway installed and blocking ads
Running Nova Launcher with Teslaunread
Froze the Knox apps with Titanium backup, but I did not use TB to do a restore of any kind. I also have a few assorted bloatware apps frozen like Yahoo finance, but nothing critical.
I do not have a custom recovery and there are no other hacks (i.e. xposed framework, etc)
I uninstalled all non-essential apps, but there's no pattern to when it happens, so an app is unlikely to be the cause.
Basically, I'm just rooted with adblock and a few apps frozen. Nothing crazy. No custom rom or anything and I didn't mess with any system files. Does anyone have any ideas? My next step was to uninstall Nova, but I don't think that's the cause. It's maddening because it happens so randomly that there's no way to really nail down the cause and I'd really rather not do a wipe.

I dont think you have software issue I think its a faulty device. My galaxy tab 3 7.0 had the same issue where it would randomly stop working I had to trade it in

Try "swipe home button" app from Google play. Whrn you think the home button stops use that one instead and if swipe works then it might be a hardware issue if swipe doesn't work either then probably a software one and perform a hard reset. That's all I can think of now.

So, it looks like it may have been the memory card. It was one of the SanDisk class 10s and I had had it for some time. It had around 1000 pics on it. I got a new class 10 SanDisk card, formatted it in the phone and haven't had a freeze or lock up since.

[Q] Android freeze when changing tabs in Google Chrome

When i disable 'Merge tabs and apps' feature in Google Chrome, I find the animation between changing tabs very janky, and at least twice a day the entire device freezes for a few minutes. Even the power button stops working.
It does this on Android 5.1/LMY47D and LMY47I. Using a clean flash of the factory images, completely stock, unrooted.
Anyone else experiencing the same freezing issues in Google Chrome (even the Chrome Beta version does it) when changing tabs?

No out problems when switching here. I prefer the new style tho

Same here with stock and rooted N6. Highly annoying and I think it's because of Chrome. I tried Chrome beta two months ago and the same thing happened then and now few weeks ago when the actual Chrome updated, problems started with it too. It worked just fine with previous version without that "pulldown to refresh" update.
Only thing that helps is by pressing power button 10 sec and force reboot.

I've found if I press the power button, a minute or two later the screen will turn off. I can then launch the camera, immediately go to Recent Apps and swipe away the frozen Chrome app.
Hopefully there will be a fix soon.

Also seeing this with brand new Nexus 6, LMY47M. Very frustrating. But I can't stand "Merged tabs and apps" --- makes it way to hard to find all my tabs!

I found an alternative tab switching method in chrome://flags
Enable Accessibility Tab Switcher.
This removes the animation when switching tabs and presents a basic list of tabs. Not perfect as it can be hard to know which tab is which if you have multiple tabs on the same website.

After 6.0.1 update apps reload when switching between them.

So I updated my z3 compact to 6.0.1.
Everything works fine except for one thing - switching between apps. Before I could switch between app and continue from where I was.
Now they are reloading. As if they are started anew.
For example if I am reading a long article in chrome and switch to facebook app and then back, page is reloaded and I end up at the beginning, meaning I have to scroll down, find where I stopped. Same with facebook, it is reloaded and I have to scroll through timeline or a group etc. This is just an example. It is the same with other apps too. Wasn't like that before.
Tried googling, tried checking settings - no luck. Am I missing some obvious setting or something? Does anyone else had this problem? It is really annoying.

Another 'Marshmallow is broken' post .....yawn....

I am not saying it's broken. It works fine.
I am just looking for a way to sort out app reloading.
It might be some sort of app management, app disabling / killing when their are not used.
Maybe it's similar to Samsung spmc?

Have you tried asking your question in the Marshmallow thread? where people are interested in the latest broken firmware release.
