There are a TON of sounds in this zip.

I flashed with zero issues.
Thanks Devs, from my LG G2
Just a note... This is a flashable zip. You need root and a custom recovery or root and a good file explorer.
For those who run with no root
1. Unzip the file.
2. In the file locate the UI, Notifications, Ringtone, and alarms folder
3. Copy those files and put them into the android/ogg folder
4. They should show up correctly under ringtones, notifications, alarms, etc...

So I've got a handful of audio files I need to copy to /system/media/audio/notifications and /system/media/audio/ringtones every time I flash a new ROM (even upgrade).
I do this since I often have my SD card mounted (car/desk/etc), and if I do, I get the terrible system beep ringtone/notification, since my N1 can't find the configured sound file.
How would I go about creating a flashable zip that would install those files to the correct location, rather than doing it manually each time?
I've made a similar flashable zip.
Here is what I did. Took a ROM zip file. Made a copy. Opened the *copy* up. Navigate to System. Delete all files/folders except for media.
Open up media folder. Delete all files/folders except for audio.
Open up audio folder. Delete all files/ folders except for ringtones and notifications.
Open up ringtones folder. Delete all files and add the ringtones you want.
Open up notifications folder. Delete all files and add the notifications you want.
Save the new zip file to the SD card and flash it.
And most importantly, NANDROID before you flash it.
BTW, you can also make a media/audio/notifications folder (and/or media/audio/ringtones) on the SD card. Then you can run then right from the card instead of loading them each time. Takes a little time for the new ringtones to show up in settings.
Hi I have a rooted Nexus One FRF91 Build
I want to change the bootanimation and startupsound
I was able to change the bootanimation through ADB because the ROOT version was not working.
Same with the startup sound, is it even possible to have a startup sound on a nexus one?
Guide would be nice, also is there some secret thing I need to know, I am rooted tried the guides but it did not work.
Take whatever bootanimation you want, copy to /system/media/bootanimation.zip (overwrite the system one).
If you want to retain system bootanimation but still overwrite it - copy to /data/local/bootanimation.zip instead (might not work - I'm not sure if it's ROM-specific).
Don't know about the startup sound, living perfectly without one.
My inquiry was based of this (from adroidfourms .com)
I bolded the part I didn't understand/possible reason it is not working for me
PLEASE NOTE: You must be rooted. You must reboot in order for these changes to take effect. You should have Root Explorer (although I am sure there is a way with ADB commands as well though). You may want to create a backup (CWM or the like), just in case. Also, most of the people I have seen do this are running a version of Dirrk's/jt's kernel, which allow boot/shutdown animations to be changed. The kernel you are currently using when attempting to change the animations must allow for them to be changed for this to work.
The file needed to change your boot-up animation should be a .zip file.
I successfully changed my bootup animation by doing the following:
Boot-up animation:
1) download a new boot animation .zip file (I put mine in /sdcard/downloads)
2) open Root Explorer
3) navigate to where you put the new .zip
4) copy the new .zip
5) paste it into /data/local
6) rename it "bootanimation.zip." (if it isn't already)
Also, if you want to change the startup/shutdown sounds:
Startup sound:
1) DL a new sound file
2) convert to a .wav file (using Winamp+.wav converter/iTunes)
3) put on SD card
4) open Root Explorer
5) navigate to /system/etc
6) rename "PowerOn.wav" to "PowerOn.wav.old"
7) navigate to where you placed the DL'ed .wav file
8) copy
9) paste into /system/etc
10) rename it "PowerOn.wav"
Shutdown sound:
1) DL a new sound file
2) convert to .ogg file (I used Winamp+.ogg converter)
3) put on SD card
4) open Root Explorer
5) navigate to /system/media/audio/ui
6) rename "shutdown.ogg" to "shutdown.ogg.old"
7) navigate to the DL'ed .ogg file
8) copy
9) paste into /system/media/audio/ui
10) rename it "shutdown.ogg"

Update: Just realized this was in the Samsung Fascinate specific area on android forum.
I have 2.3.3 running well, or at least pretty well, but I want to add some of my MP3 tones to the phone. The ringtones are is the root/system/media/audio path and I was wondering if there is a post explaining how to add to the notification and ringtone folders. I am from WinMo and this is my first android. I loved flashing my Tilt and found droid to be easier to work with.
Any help or direction would be appreciated. I have searched but didn't find a How To.
Thanks
I just use a ringtone maker app from the market. Not sure if your looking for something more than this, but there's a bunch of em. They work with all the music on my phone
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA App
I already have the tones download to my sd card and I can move them around EXCEPT for putting them in the system subfolder in the root directory. When I copy and paste my existing mp3 tones, they fail when pasting to the Notification folder in the System folder.
/system/media/audio and all of the sub directories (notifications, ringtones, alarms on the phone are mounted as read only. If you want to copy your own tones into those folders you need a file manager app that has root access like root explorer, or es explorer.
Using Root explorer, navigate to the /system/media directory and toggle the file permissions from r/o (read only) to r/w (read write). from there you can use root explorer to copy/move your custom tones to the folders.
another way to include custom notification/ringtones is to make a folder in the phones internal SD called /media/audio/notification /media/audio/ringtones /media/audio/alarms and put your tones there. This method does not require root access.
Make your own flashable zip so you can add any song you like on to your phone.
Instructions:
1. Download the DIY-sounds.zip
2. Open zip but do not extract it
3. Navigate through "system" until you get to the folder that you want to make changes to
4. Drag and drop your song in that folder
> e.g. if you want a new alarm, navigate to "alarms" folder and drop your song in to the alarms folder
5. Delete the README.txt
6. Navigate to the other folders and add your songs there too
> If you don't want to add any other songs, just delete the README.txt files in each of the other folders
7. Nandroid backup
8. Flash in recovery
Note: Don't delete the README.txt files without first putting something in that folder, or the directories will disappear
Stock HTC sounds
These are stock HTC Desire HD sounds in a flashable zip format
Have you just flashed a new AOSP rom and you've realised that all of your favourite ringtones or notifications or alarms sounds are gone now?
I got used to the new sounds, but after briefly flashing back to stock recently I realised how much I missed the old ones!
There are two formats available -
1- Merge the stock sounds to the phone so that you keep all of the AOSP sounds as well (stock-sounds-merged.zip)
2- Remove all of the AOSP sounds and just have the stock HTC sounds on the phone (stock-sounds-only.zip)
Instructions:
1. Nandroid backup!
2. Flash zip in recovery
3. Enjoy
When flashing a new rom just stay in recovery and flash this zip straight after
will theses work on Sense roms ? sorry if its a stupid question ..

Open the zip file without extracting it, add a folder under stock-sounds-merged.zip/system/media/audio/ called ui, and drop your sounds in there.

I think so...I've been doing this with my own script on my Samsung SPH-L720 with CyanogenMod 13 and the only issue I've had is getting the media scanner to notice the new sounds. Give it a go and see if it works. If it doesn't, I might have something that could work instead.
Hey folks,
just a quick one for those who are interested. You can set a custom Bootup Animation. Most/All Animations you find online will work. Mind though, with the Mate 7 you won't be able to use provided flushable Zip files. So here's a short how-to
1. Download the Animation you want
1.1 Determine if the zip is a flashable file or the Animation itself (both are zip files)
If you don't now, unpack the file. If its folders named "Part1, Part2,..." You have the Animation. If you see a "System" folder, it's flashable.
1.2 in case of flushable: Browse to "\System\Media" and save the zip file on your PC
2. Push the Zip File to your Phone (Anywhere you are able to find it again )
3. Use a Root Explorer on your Phone (i like ES Explorer) and mount your "root" as RW (google the exact steps for your chosen Explorer)
4. Copy the "boot animation.zip" to "\cust\preinstalled\pubilc\media"
5. Reboot and Enjoy
Just for you, i'll add the Stock Android L Bootanimation:
