My phone is not rooted and is on kit kat. The phone is stuck on the splash screen. I tried to do a reset from the bootloader screen but it doesnt work. It goes to a screen with the green arrow circle and then back to being stuck on the splash screen. I tried it many times but nothing happens.
Is there anyway to plug it in to a pc and do something that way? Like odin?
Any ideas?????

yeah sounds like you need to clear the cache did you try that from the bootloader?
it's in the recovery screen, first boot to the bootloader
then hit power - vol down to recovery - hit power
recovery starts - hit power + vol up
then vol down to clear cache
if that does't work you'll need fastboot to erase the cache
fastboot erase cache
Try holding POWER + VOLDOWN (phone under a bright light,) after about 5 seconds, buttons should start blinking, and after 20 to 30 seconds, phone should reboot.
you may need to try 2 or 3 times, to get it to work.

when im in bootloader and hit power - vol down I get to the fastboot screen. The options are bootloader, reboot, reboot bootloader and power down. I see a recovery option in bootloader but when I select that it eventually goes to the loop splash screen.
For fastboot cache erase, I don't see this option either. Am I doing something wrong? Im pretty familiar with this stuff I rooted a few phones in the past.

My htc One is bricked and i dont know what to do.
One day it just randomly prompted that it was going to power down and after that its been stuck in the bootloop cycle.
it only powers on to bootloop cycle when connected to a charger or pc after a period of time. The charging LED has been does not show.
I tried to launch recovery but it reboots before completing the process; infact it only stays in the bootloader screen for 5 secs before it reboots.
I've tried to fastboot erase cache and i get the error too many links, as the phone reboots back into the loop. also to note that when i plug in the htc one into the pc it tries to install it (when its in fast boot right before it reboots) but it cant because it says its unplug. (Ive tried many different cord, i even got a brand new oem cable from another htc one at the AT&T store)
the phone is rooted/unlock with a trickdroid and has been over 2 months without a issue.
I fear that the phone is gone....please help
i would even be willing to open the phone since its not under warranty....
I had my phone boot looping a couple days ago although the issue was because it did not have a rom nor recovery installed. I managed to get out of the boot loop and into the bootloader by holding both the up and down volume keys with the power button until the phone shut down, you should see the home and back keys flash 7 or 8 times before the screen shuts down. IMMEDIATELY after your screen powers down, release the keys you are currently holding and press the down volume and the power key, with any luck this should get you to the bootloader screen.

I do not know if this is the wisest idea or if it has been tried before but you could try interrutpting the reboot cycle by booting into ruu mode. Try
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
The code should take less then a second to enter if you have it typed out and waiting.
Once you are in the RUU section just type this
Code:
fastboot reboot-bootloader
With any luck you might be able to break the bootloop

So my htc one is stuck in what i think you call the boot loader. I powered it off the other day and now it is stuck in the boot loader. Every button I click on the boot loader always brings me back to the boot loader. I have rooted my phone and it is unlocked with s on and running a custom rom. I don't know what to do because it won't load into the rom and all it does is keep going back to the boot loader any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hard to say what your issue is as you are vague on the rom and what you mean as in boot loader as people use it interchangeable with the boot screen and or the actually boot loader (Hboot) menu. Either way, Try to enter recovery (Power and volume down buttons at the same time and or hold volume down button as phone is restarting until you enter recovery). You should also enter fastboot and erase cache and restart and see if that works. Make sure the rom you have is Correct for your phone as well.

Ok so is there a tutorial for doing an ruu I have never done It that way? And is a recovery different from the rom if so what's the difference and what are the files I need for the ruu I'm sort of confused hhaha forgive me not to experinced in this
My AT&T HTC One is stuck in a continuous boot loop. It flashes to the HTC splash screen for roughly 7 seconds, turns off for roughly 5 seconds, then on again. It will do this until the battery is fully depleted. Plugging the phone into my PC yields no results as the boot loop triggers a "device is not plugged in" error message over and over on my windows 7 PC. I am able to access the recovery mode holding down the power button and volume down rocker but once in recovery mode the phone promptly reboots itself back into the continuous boot loop, I have a window of a couple of seconds to navigate options in recovery mode. Stranger still is that my up and down volume buttons seem to be less responsive, sometimes I am only able to move up, other times only down. I can select recovery if I am fast enough, which takes me to the HTC splash screen with the text "Entering recovery..." however the phone then reboots back into the boot loop.
My recovery menu:
M7-UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.55.0000
OPEN DSP-v31.120.274.0617
OS 3.17.502.3
eMMC Boot 2048 MB
I am running stock odexed 4.3 with the Sense skin
Drivers cannot be installed on my PC due to the continuous resetting and navigating the recovery menu is borderline impossible.
After being severely annoyed by the bloatware that comes with the OTA firmware updates from AT&T I rooted my phone and installed the ARHD custom rom. It has worked flawlessly for about 3 months until yesterday 5/3/2014 the phone began the boot loop while it was sitting on my desk idle for about an hour. Plugging the phone into the charger yields no visible changes either (the charging indicator light does not turn on). Last night the phone boot-looped itself into a depleted battery. I plugged it in and after 5 minutes of charging I was able to get it to boot so I chose to boot it into safe mode. I had to get to bed and was unable to troubleshoot the phone further so I left the phone in safe mode, only to find it in the boot loop around 5-6:00 this morning. I am going to let the battery drain again and try to do a cache wipe once I can get the thing into safe mode. Any help on this issue would be much appreciated.

First question ARHD 4.3 ?? (Sense Edition)? link please
second, let's start with the basics:
Force reboot: press and hold POWER + VOLDOWN (under a bright light, not kidding!!), after about 5 seconds or so buttons should start blinking, and after 30 seconds or so, the phone will reboot, let go of POWER, but keep holding VOLDOWN to get back to bootloader.
(you may need to try 2 or 3 times to get it right)
how stable is bootloader? all good?
If yes, copy/paste a "fastboot getvar all" (excluding IMEI and s/n)
@nkk71 Thanks for the prompt response!
Out of left field my phone left the boot loop after 4 hours and I was able to get it to boot normal. I entered the recovery menu and was able to get into CWMR 6.0.4.3 where I wiped the cache partition. So far the phone seems stable. Any measures I need to take to prevent this problem from occurring in the future?

well that looks all good... could it be some debris in the phone's USB port? or the charger and/or cable is going bad? or even a bad power button?
(just a couple of guesses, nothing concrete... but worth checking anyway)

Thanks again for the help nkk71. So far so good, the USB port seems to be clear and functioning, and I did a key test in the recovery menu and the power button seems responsive to my clicks.
I am thinking about updating to the ARHD 53.0 (4.4.2+ HTC Sense 5.5) In hopes that it might fix any issues that could be going on causing my phone to be prone to boot loops. I just need to do some research before I update to make sure its safe.

Sure no problem.
But, if you're going for a 4.4 ROM, then you need to get TWRP from:
2.6.3.3: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7
or 2.6.3.4: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7ul
(make sure MD5 is correct, that site does not play nice with download managers)
2.7.0.4b: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708134
in bootloader/FASTBOOT USB:
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.3-m7.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
CWM is not fully compatible with 4.4 ROMs yet..... just a heads up
Thanks for the heads up! I guess this is considered SOLVED, however it was sheer luck that the boot loop stopped and I was able to get into the phone. Thanks again for the help
Hi guys I'm sure you've seen this type of thread a million times.
Anyway I tried to root my phone everything was going fine had TWRP ask if I wanted to install SU said yes and then got stuck on the dreaded boot loop.
After probably pressing things I shouldn't of I appear now to have no OS on my phone.
I found a video that said I can download an RUU but I can't find a link that works for the one I need.
I also found a video that suggested using ADB but that doesn't detect my phone when I use ADB Device in a command prompt.
Any help would be appreciated It might need dumbing down for me
I can get into fastboot and recovery from my phone and I can't seem to get my phone by USB to allow access to folders.
Small update when I select ADB Sideload from TWRP it detects my device not sure if that helps.

Be more precise here please. Did you wiped data? system? factory reset? format data?
The guide I used I can't link too.
I managed to get a ROM on my phone through side loading it.
However the ROM I put on needed an update since then my phone won't allow options for fast boot, recovery etc.
I initially ran into issues with the guide when it came to the SU stuff.
The version provided was out of date so I got a more up to date version and this is when I ran into issues.
When I went to exit TWRP is noticed I didn't have SU installed so I clicked for it to install, when this didn't work I tried factory reset which didn't work so formatted from within the advance options which is when I think it deleted by OS.

Ok so you have formatted data. You'll need to push and flash a rom to your phone. Before I would appreciate if you could answer my questions, see below quote.

Your TWRP version is outdated hence why rooting using it resulted in a bootloop (SU binaries that comes with this version aren't compatible with android Lollipop).
Flashing the latest supersu.zip would have probably solved your issue but its too late now that you have formatted data and flashed the wrong rom (see below).
The rom you have flashed (Guru_Reset_M7_3.22.1540.1) is an old version of the developer edition M7 and not for your phone.
What you should do now imo, is to relock your bootloader, flash the 7.18.161.21 RUU so your phone will be running the right OS version, unlock the bootloader again, flash the latest TWRP and root the phone (re-locking the bootloader is required to flash the RUU).
relock the bootloader:
Code:
fastboot oem lock
flash the 7.18.161.21 ruu. You can find your ruu in this thread. The file you need is at post #2, instructions how to flash it (using htc_fastboot) at post #1:
Code:
htc_fastboot oem rebootRUU
htc_fastboot flash zip PN07IMG_M7_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_Vodafone_UK_7.18.161.21_Radio_4T.35.3218.16_10.33Q.1718.01L_release_430367_signed.zip
htc_fastboot reboot-bootloader
unlock the bootloader again (refer to instructions at htcdev.com/bootloader):
Code:
fastboot oem get_identifier_token
submit your token to htcdev.com/bootloader so you get a new Unlock_code.bin by e-mail. Once received, flash the Unlock_code.bin:
Code:
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
Flash latest twrp recovery
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.8.7.0-m7.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
boot in recovery (twrp) then exit recovery and select "yes" when asked if you want to root the phone. Note that the first boot after flashing the RUU can take much more time than usual. Phone will sit at the white HTC screen for a while and then at "updating android" screen. Just wait it will boot eventually.
So I locked the phone as suggested.
I then ran fastboot oem rebootRUU and have a white HTC logo on my phone.
I assume from the instructions this is when I flash the Ruu file next ?
When I try to use the command line fastboot flash zip PN07IMG_M7_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_Vodafone_UK_7.18.161.21_Radio_4T.35.3218.16_10.33Q.1718.01L_release_430367_signed.zip
I get a reply of error: cannot load 'PN07IMG_M7_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_Vodafone_UK_7.18.161.21_Radio_4T.35.3218.16_10.33Q.1718.01L_release_430367_signed.zip'
Any idea if I'm doing something wrong?

Cannot load = can't find file. Make sure the ruu is in the same folder where adb and fastboot are installed. And don't forget you need to use the fastboot version provided in the ruu collection thread, the normal fastboot will not work to flash the ruu.
I downloaded the fast-boot in the thread but when i go to run it, it flashes on my screen and just disappears as I understand that the one you mention is for HTC.
Can I just have it in the folder with the Ruu and then run a command prompt screen within windows?
Again thanks for your advice so far and your continued patience.

save the htc_fastboot.exe in the same folder you have adb.exe and fastboot.exe
htc_fastboot also need the dll included in that folder.
To open a command window, just hold your left shift and right click a blank space in the folder. Then in the contextual menu, select 'open a command windows here". When you need to use fastboot.exe, then start your commands with "fastboot" when you need to use htc_fastboot.exe, like for flashing the ruu, start your commands with "htc_fastboot".
You can also use the Tab key to auto-complete file name so you'll be sure not doing any typo:
e.g:
Code:
htc_fastboot flash zip pn07
then hit the Tab key and the command will auto-complete:
Code:
htc_fastboot flash zip PN07IMG_M7_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_Vodafone_UK_7.18.161.21_Radio_4T.35.3218.16_10.33Q.1718.01L_release_430367_signed.zip
If you have more than 1 file starting with "pn07" in your fastboot folder, just keep pressing tab until the right one is displayed.
This way you'll be 100% sure the file name is correct and you shouldn't have any more "cannot load" error.
Finally making progress Thank you so much for your help I'll be sure to donate once paid.
Just waiting for the green bar to fill up I guess before moving on to the next step.

Wouldn't update the apps yet since you must unlock the bootloader again to flash twrp and root. unlocking the bootloader will perform factory reset so you'll have to re-update all your apps again. You should proceed with the next steps (3-4-5) before setting up your phone.
