Nope. Touchwiz framework is required. Alot of time and heavy modding would be needed. Unless touchwiz is ported to the nexus we wont have camera video player etc that requires its framework.

Tap to focus, burst, color modes, brightness control. I'm looking for it too, but I want the latest one. The one linked here is old. I tried pulling the apk from the latest MIUI build for our phones but it force closes.

Oh, both times when I flashed MIUI I did not test out the camera, will do now since there are quite a few improvements I see.

Same here. I've even dropped the new apk into the flashable zip and it still force closes. I've given up and just use the old one. Still better than stock.

The one feature i find amazing in the Samsung camera app is the "Add Me" feature which i can't find anywhere else.

Fix2 FC'd on me everytime I attempted to take a picture. Cleared data, no dice.
I can recommend the camera app MagicHour which was also recommended by Roman Guy a few weeks ago. Even though it's a bit laggy, it still does a nice job.

yeah but i thought it was mostly based off cm7 and thats what i tried it on. miui has some odd quirks and doesn't have the greatest battery life on my phone or i would just run it full time.
the camera is almost worth it haha. the stock and cm7 camera's are pitiful when compared to cm6 or other stock cameras. touch to focus seems like a must have feature to me.

havent tried to edit a photo forgot about that. but yea everything else works for me too. im on elegancia so ill have to try to edit a photo later
Camera and Photosphere work great for me so far. only issue I've had is the FC when trying to edit. I'm running Dark Raider 1.5 with Faux 006 kernel.

This is great! The camera works pretty well. I had the camcorder freeze on me when I tried to take a photo at the same time as the video shooting.
The keyboard is excellent, except you can't add words to the user dictionary as it appears from the logs that the code to do that operation is missing for some reason.
Haven't used 4.2 camera on my vivid as rs been running cm10...but been rocking this camera on my infuse...love photosphere! Runs fairly well on my infuse all though photosphere rendering takes a few minutes (single core CPU...512mb ram...) can only imagine how much smoother and faster it would be on the vivid...or the nexus 4....

It's not bad, but there's limitations. Sphere doesn't render well with too many pictures on the vertical axis when making a flat picture and sphere viewer doesn't work. Also too, editing doesn't work, it tells me that there's no program associated with the button press. But panorama and all the other camera settings work great!
I am running wajee's de- sensed ROM, so I don't know if that's the cause of those items not working?

ok i have one problem with the keyboard ...... ( htc vivid -dedoxed stock ics rom)
when ever i select 'touch to save' a new word .. i get the 'unfortunately the android keyboard has stopped working ..then the keyboad comes off screen and i am left with the cut/copy/paste with the work highlighted. ...
i saw this elsewhere and i wondering if a similar action cant sort out ours
Go into menu/system/apps and find android keyboard asop and CLEAR DATA Then do the same for Dictionary Provider and CLEAR DATA.

Funny the camera app work when I install the apk but not when I flash the zip. The ZIP gives me "unsupported device". Newest PA rom BTW. and this is after two fresh flashes and wipes.

the zip is made for ics probably thats why it says unsupported

Check your build.prop settings. You may need to adjust those to get everything up and running.

Flashed the camera zip on CM10 and everything functions perfectly! Photosphere is smooth, panorama is smooth, and editing functions just fine.
I use GOkeyboard so I guess it doesn't really matter to me what the 4.2 keyboard is, but it does look cool!

Okay this thread should be in all android phones forums... My brother have the htc sensation xl and he installed the nexus 4 camera app on it (without root and everything just install.. and it have the 4.3 camera interface) so today I was shooting some pics from the app and I Received a viber massage and when the viber popup showed up the camera closed and I entered the app again it says "can't connect to camera" just like the n4 tried to enter the stock sense camera and even not working until I restart the.phone please get another camera app because this stock app cause hardware problems to my n4 And the front camera is not working... Thank you for reading...
It was probably your phone's hardware problem, not the camera app, since it is just copied from s4 GE ROM.

works perfectly here, and the new 4.3 camera app has been working without a single issue. the htc sensation would need a camera app developed for it to work perfectly on it, the sensation and n4 do have different hardware. plus its not a hardware problem for you, its a software problem if a reboot fixes it.

I think he means that even after reboot the camera doesn't work. But I don't think this is a camera app's fault

It is working fine on my N4. I have been using it since it was leaked. It is not surprising to hear of issues with the Sensation due to the HTC framework. Remember, as it is, it was pulled from a Samsung rom.

i dont know, he said.. "and even not working until I restart the.phone", which is a typical way to fix a camera software glitch. deleting the data from the gallery app works if its a data corruption issue.

yes it works when i reboot , clear data on my n4 but the front cam is not working anymore
okay my phone now in warranty on lg .. and i think now they replacing my f-cam to new one ... i made this topic for those who receiving the "cant connect to camera" problem and help them and try to use another app or maybe ...just my device have this prob ...1 from a million lol
I'm just curious why the hell everyone keeps calling it the 4.3 camera? . Last I checked the GE phones are running 4.2.2.

What the hell, why are you on the phone to LG for a replacement? "Cannot connect to camera" means the camera is in use, be that from a anti-theft software, to malware, or just another camera app..

The interface for "4.3 camera" was first leaked on the N4 running 4.3, but when the GE devices came out, they had the "4.3 camera" preloaded

Same happened to me on AOKP latest nightly, but with stock camera.
On previous phones, and various ROMs also happened once or twice, so i guess it's just some litlle bug, and definitly not hardware issue, but maybe Android itself
The app crashed and it was still connected to the camera. If you'd gone into the recent apps list or the application settings menu and killed it, it would have fixed the problem. The Android OS only allows one app to connect to the camera at a time as outlined in the SDK Documentation. Even the stock camera apps do this from time to time with third party apps (like Instagram) that also use the camera. No big deal.
He's probably worried it's related to prism wanting his smurf pron, spying on him randomly.

Well I had too many of apps that use the camera and in the beginning the can't connect to cam it was not a big deal to me but when it started to show up every time I open the cam from the lock screen... And when I switch to f-cam it not working I tried fac reset
and another rom and it still ...but my question. Is when I get back the n4 which camera app do i use... I'm afraid from the stock ...

I'm talking about bringing it back to total stock. Make a nandroid back up first then use easy nexus toolkit and bring it all the way back to stock. It could be a driver issue or something like that or some kind of a conflict caused by an app or something.
today cyanogenmod team released a cm10.2 nightly for our device.

I've just flashed the new cm10.2 nightly.
At the moment i can say it's pretty good, even though i've an issue with Trebuchet which crashes when i open a directory (not important, and surely it will be fixed).
One thing i don't like is the background in Settings app (and all applications that uses Hardware Acceleration) which is filled by stripes (this hasn't happened on stock 4.3 as far as i remember).
Said this, i'm happy to come back cyanogenmod

I've always had stripes/banding on my Nexus 7 with any ROM. I don't notice it anymore now now that I've had it for a few months, but when I first got it the banding literally hurt my eyes to look at them because they were incredibly obvious. I had a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 previously, the screen was worse and has less resolution, but it had smooth gradients and no banding.

The first time i noticed the stripes, i was using android 4.2 .
The background gradient was drawn by using some xml files in framework-res.apk which cause the banding. And there was a fix i never tried.
As far as i know, it should have been fixed in 4.3 and in fact i couldn't notice it in stock rom...
i don't know, maybe some new android changes in cyanogenmod source wasn't merged?
i am also having issues opening a folder-- trebuchet will crash. i hope they can fix this soon because i rely on folders very much.

I will not use a different launcher because that would defeat the purpose of installing cm10.2. But I did install a third party app for it. but then again, it would be so much nice that the folder thingy shouldn't have any issues.

because to me, installing cm10.2 is installing trebuchet. so, if i am not going to be able to use trebuchet then i might as well not install cm10.2. well nuff about that. btw, they have another nightly update, but the issues i am having are still not resolved.

ifyou use nova or apex you're still using cm10.2 .. I never use trebuchet because i think it's no good

Trebuchet is nice and all and I prefer it but for real if you don't like it there's a million launchers. I would suggest Nova.

Nova is laggy at the moment (for me). Apex is smooher. Bought them both a long time ago, so i can switch

Guess what, the issues I was having (opening a folder will crash trebuchet and upside down camera image in focal) were all fixed with the latest nightly. Running smooth with m-kernel.
Can't seem to load the Play Store after installing the latest nightly.
In last nightly lockscreen can't rotate!

Look for the icon on your lockscreen. That's where I found it on the previous build.

Netflix is not working on my p5100 and sometimes play store closes but overal it working really nice
Only think I find not working that I use is cloud print.
