[Q] Please Help!!! DESPERATE! Don't know how to proceed. - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys ,
Well, my phone begin to have some problems in playing videos and I decided to flash another ROM on my HTC ONE.
My current ROM is [Elegancia_ONE_22.0.0.zip]
My phone specs:
HTC ONE GSM/3G
RUU VARIANT: x.xx.708.x
BOOTLOADER screen:
*** TAMPERED ***
*** UNLOCKED ***
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
Then I follow the above steps to flash a new ROM:
1. Went into CWM recovery mode [version:recovery-clockwork-6.0.4.6-m7ul.img]
2. Chose the the installation from zip on sdcard [Android_Revolution_HD-One_62.0.zip]
3. Followed the installation steps from ROM ui instalation.
4. After the end of installation, the CWM detected that my ROOT needed a fix/update, so I opted for YES.
5. Rebooted the phone by CWM menu option.
6 . Upon start up Im getting the white screen with green HTC logo *freeze*
7. Okay, it did not work.. tried starting in BOOTLOADER to enter in recovery mode again...
8. Once in BOOTLOADER I choose the RECOVERY option
9. Here's the problem: The phone start CWM but soon, the CWM comes out and the phone continues the boot process, freezing again the white screen with green HTC logo.
10 . My CWM is corrupted as I can see. I can not enter the CWM to flash another ROM.
11 . Tried to flash a new CWM using ADB. The ADB does not recognize the device (nothing is displayed by the command ADB DEVICES, besides the driver is ok)
12 . Tried to make the flash recovery using fastboot . So far so good, he can apparently flash the CWM but upon entering BOOTLOADER again to start from recovery mode, the same problem occurs!
What can I do?
a) My root is corrupted?
b) I can flash another ROM using fastboot?
c) I can try using another recovery img?
Help me please! Thank you!

Flash latest TWRP instead of CWM .... i had few probs with CWM ... since i use TWRP no more pb....
Use my zip or follow this link :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708134
After flashing recovery reboot on new recovery make a full wipe (sd not need) and reflash your rom .....
good luck ! :highfive:
ps : Could use adb sideload option for flashing problem

Like it says in the OP of the thread you need TWRP 2.6.3.3 or higher (the part in red):
get TWRP from:
2.6.3.3: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7
or 2.6.3.4: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7ul
EDIT: or the one mentioned above
(make sure MD5 is correct, that site does not play nice with download managers)
in bootloader/FASTBOOT USB:
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.3-m7.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
then install the ROM.

right under my f*kng nose!
sorry about that... didn't see this huge warning.
You got me out of the mud :victory:, I've never posted anything on XDA forums, because I do not have experiences to share.
I hope this will be a help for another users anyway..
Im thankful for your help guys! (had already begun to pray.. lol)

HELP! Stuck on HTC quietly brillant boot screen

Hi Guys,
My heads sorta spinning from information overload so I'm hoping one of you guys can help me. I have a Incredible S and I used this guide to downgrade my HBOOT and get my S-OFF using revolutionary and flash clockwork, which I did successfully. I then decided to install this ROM which requires Blackrose. So I installed blackrose beta sucessfully overwriting the revolutionary HBOOT. This is where it all starts to go wrong. I then set about doing a full wipe and tried to install the ROM using Clockwork and the installation completed sucessfully. But when I try to boot up my phone I get stuck at the HTC quietly brilliant screen. I also restored a backup I took with Clockwork with the same results; stuck at the boot screen. I tried following the steps in the thread of the ROM (listed below) with no avail.
Here are some steps you can try if the ROM hangs on the HTC splash screen
1. Download the file lib.zip from here: http://bit.ly/PwK4BH (MD5 SUM: 83dd68b32d39c994b3069d8813b3c3ea)
2. Unzip the lib.img and place it on your PC where you have fastboot.exe installed.
3. Boot into FASTBOOT USB mode and then enter the following command:
fastboot flash lib lib.img
4. Wipe Data/System Reset.
5. Wipe Dalvik Cache.
6. Then reinstall vivo_signed_WWE_4.10.405.1_ICS_SENSE36_8.zip
Do any of you guys have any suggestions or know whats wrong? Even if I can get back to the latest stock ROM while preserving my root I would be happy.
Thanks Guys!!!
BTW i would have posted in the rom thread on I dont have enough posts :crying:
No need blackrose on this rom. Just flash and install rom if you S-On flash boot.img manual via adb flash.
Before, i ve used that rom & back to my prev rom like Stock and Nik Rom.
++no need blackrose++
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda app-developers app

It says in the ROM thread "This ROM requires that you upgrade Revolutionary HBOOT 6.13.to BlackRose 2.02.0002 because of space issues with the ICS /system partition."

What version of HBOOT does your phone now show?
Did the flashing of thr lib.img in FASTBOOT USB mode show any errors?
What is the exact file name of the vivo_signed_WWE_4.10.405.1_ICS_SENSE36 rom?
Which version of ClockworkMod are you using?
Things have went from bad to worse. I uninstalled blackrose now I'm back to revolutionary hboot 1.13.0000. But now I cannot boot at all or even get to the white htc screen. I am stuck in bootloader and have lost recovery. Thereby my phone will not charge enough to accept a RRU. I tried to reflash recovery by fastboot but I keep getting a Remote:signature verify fail error Have I bricked my phone? :crying::crying::crying:

The only option you have at this point is to flash an official PG32IMG.zip file extracted from a RUU and copy it to your SD card. Then when you boot into bootloader it will find the file, flash it and that should get you going.
It sound like you need to use the 2.30.405.1 RUU from here:
http://www.filefactory.com/file/c0a...5AU_3805.06.03.03_M_release_199308_signed.exe
DUDE! This is no lie. You are a legend!!! That worked. I had myself prepared for buying a new phone!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS SO MUCH

[Q] HTC One in a boot loop

Hello.
I was in the process of upgrading my HTC One from 4.2 and successfully unlocked the bootloader. But thereafter my phone just constantly reboots. It shows the HTC splash screen for about 10 seconds and the reboots again.
I am able to go into the fastboot screen (see screen shot). But when I select Recovery, the phone gors to the next screen - displays "Entering Recovery" - and nothing else happens thereafter.
Can anyone please help? Have looked at other such questions and tried but nothing has helped.
Thanks

I'm not sure you did ever flash a custom recovery!
1. Put your phone in fastboot from the bootloader meny. You already did this while rooting, so you got it already!
2. In your "SDK-tools" folder that you used while unlocking the device, put [nameofyourrecovery].img I recommend you to install TWRP 2.6.3.3, as it is the best one for flashing kitkat and lets you do this if you wish I cannot give you a link as I am a new member, but search google for TWRP 2.6.3.3 and you will find it. Make sure it is .img and not .zip!
3. While in fastboot, open a command prompt in the ADB folder.
4. To flash your custom recovery, type
fastboot flash recovery [nameofyourrecovery].img

Does not help. Used 2.6.3.3, the flash process went fine, then Recovery displays "Entering Recovery" - and then again bot loop.

You have an M7CDWG, twrp is for M7_U & M7_UL models, if i'm not mistaken. Start googling for M7CDWG, it's a completely different phone than the U / UL phones.
and you need to "fastboot erase cache" after flashing recovery

Dear nkk71
Many thanks. I used your suggestion and rooted as per #9 in this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45427332
I installed Chinese recovery followed by TWRP recovery. I was abe to Recover and reach TWRP manager 2.6.0.0.
Can you please suggest what next to instal?
If I reboot I still go into reboot loop, but can now reach TWRP manager.
Thanks

Not really, don't know much about your model. You'll need to find a ROM compatible with your device; if it doesnt specifically say it's for your device, then most likely it isn't!!
I think there's a Maximus HD ROM for your version, but i have no idea where.
Did you..
Aside from flashing a recovery and rooting your phone, did you make any other modifications or flash any other partitions?
If no, then wipe Dalvek cache from TWRP. Boot into TWRP and select Wipe. Select advanced. Select Dalvek and Cache. Wipe power down. then power on and see if it will boot.

i had a similar problem last week with a One, a friend bricked his One by flashing "???" Dont know exactly whar he has done.
The phone had boot loops all the time.
my solution was:
- connecting the phone with the usb cable to my pc.
- started the phone into fastboot usb mode
- started cmd at my notebook
- change to the directory which contains adb and fastboot
- execute: fastboot erase cache
- restarted the phone
the phone starts normally into ARHD 40.3
perhaps it works ...

Htc one massive problem

got my htc one today from who i thought was a nice lady, turned out to be a ....yeah...that, she showed me it working but as soon as it went dead, it never came back on, turns out the phones bricked i think
it was on a tablet custom rom, as im trying to flash the stock rom but im not very good at doing this, i cant find a working recovery that allows me to mount system as it cant have a memory card, no success, i can only get into bootloader fastboot thingy and use the cmd adb thingy,
also i cant boot the phone up as normal, i tried earlier but it satys on the htc screen, the fist screen when u switch it on my device details are as follows
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT - 1.54.0000
RADIO - 4A.17.3250.14
OPENDSP V31.120.274.0617
OS - 2.24.206.1
EMMC - BOOT 2048
somebody help me please im dieing without a good phone lol
use fastboot to change recovery.u can download cwm from rommanager site (M7), then, after power on the device in fastboot (vol down + power on), in cmd type: fastboot flash recovery "recoveryname".img (the name change on what you download. you are now good to boot into cwm recovery.
now you can sideload a rom from pc. in the recovery wipe data then select flash update zip from sideload and after downloading the rom you wanted you can type adb sideload rom.zip (rom name change on what you download). and bam you have flashed a rom from pc to phone and you could now reboot your phone...it's an international m7 so look for gsm roms only
If you are planning to flash a kit Kat 4.4.2 you need latest recovery. TWRP comes highly recommended.
When in fastboot mode open cmd window on your Windows computer (search box type in cmd) point to your adb/fastboot folder where you also downloaded your recovery) and type then:
fastboot erase cache
fastboit flash recovery name-of-your-recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
Now you can boot into your recovery, in TWRP you do another wipe (factory reset or under Advanced tap select only cache+dalvik+system) and sideload a ROM from there.
I suggest to use a Sense ROM first, and of those one with Sense 5.5 as Sense 6.0 ROMa are still in their early stages and not 100% stable yet.
Under stickies in the Android Developer section you find loads of info regarding flashing/recovery ect.

only one thats half working ( recovery ) is TWRP but the sideload isnt working...
55459356 1951
also now the twrp or twpr doesnt work on the international version i put on it from the all in one toolkit
As I suggested: go to the stickies under Android Developing and you find excellent tutorials.
They explain in detail how to set up adb/fastboot and how to flash ROMs.
The toolkit is only good as long as you understand what it does.

ive installed a rom from the install from zip on cwm - installed one from sideload, nothings working, it says its done but it doesnt load past the htc screen the first screen, also the bootloader says tampered and relocked

Then go ahead...flash recovery, then sideload a ROM..

HTC One - Can't boot

I have a problem...
I went to update my HTC One M7 to the newest InsertCoin update however I downloaded the wrong rom, downloading the rom for the HTC DNA instead. After an unsuccessful install, the phone would not boot after a wipe or anything, and atm boots straight into the boot loader. I have been unable to side load any file onto the phone and so far S-off attempts have been unsuccessful. Any help would be appreciated.

if you have an m7_u or m7_ul - check your fastboot getvar all - try to reflash custom recovery: get TWRP from:
2.6.3.3: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7
or 2.6.3.4: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7ul
(make sure MD5 is correct, that site does not play nice with download managers)
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.3-m7.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
then try getting to recovery, if it bootloops back to bootloader, then you have a serious problem
I am able to get into recovery as I already have ClockworkMod Recovery 6.0.4.6 flashed, by can switch to TWRP if it is better? I'm just not sure of what steps to take as I can't load a stock rom on the internal storage (computer isn't recognising device but fast boot is) and I can't take it back to my provider as the boot loader has a tampered warning...

you can transfer a rom to your device using adb from twrp recovery. ADB sideload or adb push method.
instructions can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2318497
@nkk71 congrat for your new title :good:
edit: If you have an usb otg cable you can also copy your rom to a usb drive and mount it from twrp

I've got a problem with my HTC ONE m7
Tried to install ARHD 81.
So I unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP and then flashed the ROM.
Rebooted the phone and it stuck to the white HTC loading screen.
Waited for about 20mins. then rebooted the phone. tried flashing the ROM again but no luck there.
So then I did a recovery cache wipe, flashed the recovery, and flashed the ROM again but still stuck.
In desperation I did a wipe... and deleted the actual ROM.zip.
Now I've tried to Sideload the .zip (and original oexed) but get stuck/fail when nearly done.
I've tried to download all the "EU" RUU's and install them but get either error 170 (USB) or error 155 (unknown)
Also tried to download RUU.zip but that didn't work either.
So now i'm stuck! If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great!
Thanks!

Looks like you did not flashed arhd using twrp version 2.6.3.3.
flash twrp 2.6.3.3:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery name_of_recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
then boot in recovery and adb push arhd:
Code:
adb push name_of_rom.zip /sdcard/
command prompt will be unresponsive for the duration of the push (5-15 min)
then in twrp 2.6.3.3 select "install" and browse to find arhd zip file, select it and swipe to flash then reboot phone.
forget about using a RUU because all RUU available for your phone require S-OFF. (downgrade)
Thank you so very much!
Works brilliantly now!!
Cheers mate! :highfive:
Waiting for device msg after recovery boot
Hi. Please, help me.
So I unlocked my M7 successfully. Then I've tried to make a recovery - I used CWM: recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.8-m7.
But something went wrong. Here's log:
C:\mini-sdk>fastboot boot recovery.img
downloading 'boot.img'... OKAY
booting... OKAY
But nothing happened, just screen with "root menu". I tried volume up and down - nothing. Power button - nothing. When I repeated command I got:
C:\mini-sdk>fastboot boot recovery.img
< waiting for device >
What can I do now? Why it went wrong?
In fact I don't even know what was my Android or Sense version after unlocking.

Oh, right! Thanks! My phone is working again.
@clsA
I rather ask than be sorry, so...
After my newbie recovery flashing I have now TWRP and CWM recoveries. How can I delete them (then I'd like to flash CWM once and proper)?
An second question: I'm not sure how to choose between recovery mode and standard. When I want to get to recovery I do it through fastboot. But is it enough to power down if in recovery and power up for standard mode?
Edit:
When in CW Manager I go to recovery mode I recover in TWRP recovery instead of CWM.

you don't have both recovery's ..when you installed TWRP it overwrites any other recovery. If your goal is to flash roms you want TWRP 2.6.3.3 on their.
What is CW Manager and why do you need it ?

Clockwork ROM Manager. It showed both recoveries - TWRP and CWM. But then I flashed Stock Recovery, then TWRP 2.6.3.3, then ROM, then again... Well, after few hours of searching, trying, learning differences between flash and boot, and adrenaline kicks when my HTC One didn't boot or stuck somewhere I manage to flash ARHD ROM. I'm quite proud of myself. I wonder though how much trash I left on phone after all of this (yeah, we girls like to have everything in order...)
And if I can - few more questions
I noticed that battery drain is much faster - I probably should calibrate it. Is there a best-for-ARHD-app, or any should be ok?
And in some apps, like Goodreads, I have now additional menu bar at the bottom. I'm sure there is some mode for removing it (specially if stock can do that), but I can't find it.

Theirs no left over trash on the phone (except the CW rom manager)
the phone works with partitions. Only one thing can occupy the partition at a time. Whatever you flashed last is all that's their.
The menu bar you mention is only their on GPe roms .. is this what your using ? Their should be no menu bar using ARHD 81

I'm using ARHD 82. I read the FAQ and I think it is that menu (although looks different than on stock Sense6):

9. How do I get rid of the 3-dot-menu?
As of the 4.2.2 update HTC introduced the Long-press-home-as-menu functionality, which also removes the black menu bar. Activate it under Settings -> Display -> Home Button.

but I don't have this option there.

It must be a really bad coded app ..that menu was gone by version 4.3 and your Rom is version 4.4.3 - 6.09.401.10

Yeah, they probably don't care about updating to Google changes. But it's not the same menu as 3 dot menu on Stock which was easy to hide. It's not really menu for an app, 3 dots button doesn't even work and rest of buttons is for phone navigation. Any ideas how to hide it?
Guys, I apologize in advance if this is wrong section for my question but it seems my searching powers are not as good as they used to be
I need help regarding HTC One M7_ul 801s PN0714000
This phone has problems with google processes being stopped and it has all kind of chinese apps and bloatware and I would like to install an european rom on it...Phone is s-offed, it has supercid and modelid is PN0711****
Now, I managed to find one kitkat zip file and tried to flash it with "fastboot flash zip" command but i keep getting remote:02 data length is too large...I tried renaming it to PN0714IMG.zip, it didn't help as well...
Is there anything else I should do(beside s-off and supercid) to be able to flash any rom on it, and should I rather go with RUU exe file...if so, can someone please point me out to a place where I can download official roms...I noticed that htc1gury is down...
One more thing, bootloader is locked, phone is not rooted and has no custom recovery installed, and I would like to keep it that way if possible...supercid and s-off were done with Java card, if it is an important info at all...
Please, let me know where I'm making a mistake and if you need any additional info....I apologize one more time if this is a wrong thread or if the answer was so obvious and I was so blind to find it
Tnx in advance....
will method 1 works on HTC one M8 ?
and if .. will i receive OTA update ?
Hello there,
today I tried to install a Custom ROM on my M7 for the first time.
So I unlocked my device with htcdev.com. Btw: it wasn't possible to skip step 11 and I'm using Mac.
So my device is currently unlocked with S-ON (as it can be seen in bootloader).
I want to flash custom recovery and my problem is step 7. ("In the Command Prompt type following command: fastboot boot recovery.img (this command might not with newer hboots)").
When I try this command (on Mac: fastboot-mac), my phone freezes with both ClockworkMod Touch [OFFICIAL] and TWRP. My hboot version is 1.61, maybe that's the problem as mentioned. But I don't want to flash a recovery, maybe I can't use that device after doing that.
Any tips for me?
Best regards

"fastboot boot recovery.img" was only possible on hboot 1.44. Flash your recovery using "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img". Use latest TWRP recovery.
thx, it worked. phew
Hello guys,
im new to the HTC world, mostly familiar with Sony devices, have a friend who has given me their HTC which isn't booting up, it only boots to the start screen then goes blank, she told me the phone was charging and there was a power surge wherever she was and since then the device misbehaves and doesn't boot past the start screen.
how can I flash it back to stock, as from my experience it seems like its a software issue.
