Any way to stream emulators yet? 😊 - Google Chromecast

Title says it all, me and my friends have been waiting for an app that can either stream any app in general or for the dev teams that work on the emulators to add the cast option to their work. ☺
Thanks ahead of time guys ☺

No as in snes, nes, GBA etc ☺

I haven't seen anything talk to the chromecast with low enough latency to play a game more advanced than solitaire. Hell, netflix has enough trouble for me registering when i press the pause/play button.

Oh... Short of running the emulator on a desktop and using desktop mirroring (which has even more latency), not yet...
And as gianptune said, there's too much latency to use Chromecast like this unless the emulator runs on Chromecast. But then there's no way to provide the input control, so it would still require development on the emulator.

Finally, we'll all be able to play the same games online together, regardless of platform!

This is exciting
this means there will be more gamers to play with
however still ps3 has there exclusive games and xbox has there exclusive games, but would be good for call of duty and other games that are across the platforms

Good point, but it does mean that PS3 and Xbox360 users alike will be able to play the exclusives from consoles they don't have!
I'm a PS3 guy, but I did own an Xbox360 for a while, purely for Halo. It would be GREAT to play that again!

Edit: Balls. Turns out that onlive doesn't do exclusive titles. Totally disregard the above, unfortunately

It's just an Onlive viewer app, so you can watch people playing. It's quite immersive! Maybe I'm just a bit of a voyeur
There's apparently a player app coming at some point, so we'll be able to play console games on our phones. Crazy!

It's a gaming "platform", I guess. It's basically console & PC games streamed over the internet so you can play them with a dedicated viewer box, or on your PC.
Go to http://www.onlive.com/ and sign up (for free) and you can watch people's games in progress and see what's available.

No - that's the beauty of it. It streams games from their service. You still have to buy them, obviously, but they're cheaper than "the real thing".

Yes, only if your computer is running XBMC at the time and yo have UPNP sharing turned on.
However, you don't need the XBMC program on your tablet to stream music or videos from your XBMC library on your PC; You can use UPNPbubble from the Play store to access the shared library and MX Player (or any other player) to play them.
i have an iomega nas drive and its streams great from it to the nexus 7 ... the only thing with videos its still software decoding not gpu yet
pretty laggy

Hopefully we get Teg3 support on XBMC when it hits beta. There is definitely not going to be Teg2 (h/w decode drivers) for XBMC Android, but theres a chance we could see Teg3 fully supported. :>
That is fantastic! Can't wait to try it.
They really need to work on a touch friendly skin for xbmc though, I can see him struggling to hit list items.
theres two skins cooked in to the (precompiled apk) download build, confluence and a touch friendly theme for smaller screens

Not true. I've been using a beta version I found somewhere around here, and it works exactly like XBMC on a PC. You can add sources from several kinds of network shares or local stuff on your device. I stream all my stuff from simple windows/smb shares, with no special sharing program running on the PC, and it works great.

I installed the APK from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1772433
It struggles with 720p MKVs right now, but I don't think it's optimised for the Tegra 3 chipset yet.
yup, it's software only decode for now.
even so, it's still a very awesome build for a pre-alpha :>
Tried it out last night and work really well streaming from my Nas.
Anyone have a link to getting LiveOnlineFooty on XBMC

i never understood the whole point of XBMC .. so it allows you to stream movies/music to a device correct?
yup, that is kind of the best bit of xbmc, means you can store your movies on a central server and access them on multiple devices throughout your house. Mind you the awesome plugins that stream from external sources is a very close second.

I use XBMC as my main media centre in my house, usually I use androids and iphones as the remote controls for my TV with XBMC running on it, this way is a bit around the wrong way but I can see it being awesome for things like the nexus Q and TV's with embedded android who can suddenly grow full featured media centres

Developers for chromecast

Its amazing how no one is building social games for chromecast that people can play using the a shared big screen that has now been made available by google. I have a project in mind. If there are any developers comfortable with the Google Chromecst SDK and are excited on working on a prototype multiplayer game please contact me. [email protected]
Probably because it will be really laggy

Best lag free way to cast to my TV?

I have my chromecast on my samsung TV. But I can't really play GTA or any games because of a small amount of lag. Any ideas or ways to get around?

Buy a Nexus player? No but the issue might reside in the limitation of chromcast only using a 2.4ghz network instead of 5 GHz which might reduce the lag

I play emulators on mine every day one mine and they work great. I mainly use SuperGNES and Mupen64. I've heard there are PS1 emulators and Game cube/GBA that also work. I'll try GTA on mine later.
You need to sideload the games to it using EFS but its really easy to do. Also PS4 controllers do work from what I've seen. You can head over the the Nexus Player forum to see more because I haven't checked recently.

When I try to cast my N6 onto my Chromecast, I just get a green screen. My whole tv screen just turns green, the only way to fix it is to disconnect my phone.
Only happens if my was to screen cast, but everything else works (Youtube, Netflix, Hulu, etc.)

OK so I've been really busy with finals coning up next week, but I tested GTA San Andreas and it works great on my Nexus Player. I used the controller from the play store and it functions perfectly. You can install it directly without needing to sideload it. Just goto the play store in chrome and hit install then choose Nexus Player.
Here are some pictures of it on my TV:

Screen casting also works on slim as that was the first non stock that fixed the green screen... That is mandatory for me as I use Kodi all the time .... What used to be xbmc
