They are settings regarding 3d effects in the menus. Just play withthem till you find something you like!
Nothing serious here, just a way to customise your devices' behavior!

force GPU will force the UI to be rendered using HW GPU rather than SW emulation.
it can cause instabiblity in some apps ,or so I've heard.
as for the rest they just change transition speeds.

The lower the number, the faster the transitions and animations.
CyanogenMod is known as one of the fastest Android ROMs available. For many of us with older devices though, it’s not exactly speedy unless you make some tweaks to it. so some changes need to be made. Here are a few changes I made to my galaxy mini that made it super fast. Give them a try on your own device if you Cyanogen runs slow.
Note: Some of these changes may cause damage to your device. I am not responsible for your results. Use these tips at your own risk.
Overclock the CPU
Take advantage of the capabilities that comes with rooting your device. Go under Settings > CyanogenMod settings > Performance > CPU settings and do the following:
Select CPU settings and set Max CPU frequency to 748Mhz or 768Mhz. I personally go with this setting you can choose. This may reduce the life of your hardware, but it’s totally worth it.
Set Available governors to smartass v2 or lilgv2.
Check Set on boot.
Optimize ADWLauncher
The included ADWLauncher will run extremely slow on older devices if left to its default settings. Make some changes under Settings > ADWLauncher:
Select Drawer settings and uncheck Animated Drawer and Fade app labels. This will save resources and enable the launcher to load faster.
ADW drawer settings
Select System Preferences and uncheck Wallpaper Hack.
Also under System Preferences, go to Scrollng cache and set it to Low quality.
ADW wallpaper hack and scrolling cache settings
Miscellaneous tweaks
If your device is still slow after the changes above, you may also want to do the following:
Under Settings > CyanogenMod settings > Performance, check Lock home in memory.
Also under Settings > CyanogenMod settings > Performance uncheck Enable surface dithering.
Cyanogen performance settings
Uninstall unused apps.
Move apps to the SD card.
Delete widgets from the Home screen.
Restart your device and it should now fly. Feel free to post your own optimization tips.

Thanks. Did apply from there.
However i see hybrid mode is on in phone ui, phablet ui as well by default. Will affect anything ?
I have applied tablet UI but nothing has changed. I have only 4x7 icon layout. I think tablet should have more rows or is it how it works in this build ?

You set the number of columns with launcher settings. Mess around with the PA interface setting. You can get some interesting effects with that.

Its ok wen i tried to play a song. I havent played it around much as of now.
You mean after locking the screen ? I am familiar with this kind of problem with other builds. Once the display goes off while playing or when you lock it the sound is weird. Havent tested this one in particular. We can test it and report it shumash. He has done a great job with this build.
Will test a bit and update you tonight.
But I have seen the battery drain during sleep is very impressive. Its very very less compared to other roms.

I tried playing songs and it was OK.
However when I lock the screen while playing it stops playing within 30secs after a beep that's it.
Not sure how we can fix it.

Hi folks,
I read about this in the Tab Pro forum and found that this helps to make Tab S performance snappier with TouchWiz. If you use another launcher, it will be even more snapier. So here are the steps:
1) Enable developer options by tapping Build Number 7 times. You will find Build Number by Settings -> General -> About Device.
2) Once the developer options are enabled, change Window Animation scale, Transition Animation scale, Animator Duration scale from 1x to 0.5x (see attached snapshot)
Regards,
Kalpesh
Tried all that. I would also try disableing system apps and use greenify to hibernate apps until you open them. I also use nova launcher and changed the speeds to fast. I also use a live wallpaper and its all smooth. What font do you use? This is what my tab s looks like. Im am rooted on stock rom.

That doesn't improve the performance, it just hides some of the lags. It is nice that you try to help people (really, it is), but you should have chosen a different headline.
Anyway, I would advise against changing Animator Duration, with it deactivated Hangouts refused to auto scroll to new messages.
Thats like putting a bandaid on a wound. Want to reduce lag? Find the thread that lists all the system apps you can delete.

The font that I use is Rosemary.
In android 12 there is new overscroll stretch animation.
There is some option to turn it off without disabling all others animations or bring back old android 11 overscroll effect?
In chrome we can disable it using this flag:
chrome://flags/#elastic-overscroll
First thing I kill on Adroid is animations, enjoy the fast UI...
I'm wondering if there is a flag which can be changed using adb shell settings
is there really no way to disable android 12's overscroll??

"Changing Animator Duration Scale in Developer Options to Animation Off is the solution. You need to refresh whatever app you're on to see the effects. So after making the changes in Dev Options, close the app that you're experiencing the stretchy texts on and reopen it to see the changes made."
Not sure if this works. A fast phone doesn't need any animations, etc. One of the first things I disable in Developer options. Animations where junkware in XP×64, still junkware today...
I tried it before and it works, but i want every animation to stay normal EXCEPT overscroll. Disabling all in-app animations for one eye-straining animation is dumb. It'd be great if there's a way to replace the overscroll animation or disable it alone...

Not that I know of. A chrome edit maybe, try searching for that. Many browsers allow you to alter their default hidden settings.
All animations do is make a fast UI less usable. I want to see real time what's going on, or not. Whenever I see lag that's not internet connection related I go into witch hunting mode.
Is there no way to remove that annoying effect? I don't understand how there is no option other than removing all the animations...
i really hate it
