Lockscreen big problem - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, i have a "little" (annoying...) problem, on existenz ROM (which i have already re-installed, because i kind of messed up before)
So, did clean install (so dont tell me to do that again ), and i cant change my lockscreen wallpaper with a custom one: i can chose xperia's wall, but when i try to chose one from the album app, it says it can't change wp.
What can i do?
(i have reflashed all, and still same result, wtf is that )

Noone ?

what version of existenz? also check which photo editor program you are using. 3.1.5/3.3.0 has two: one with .chinese or something, which you shouldn't use because it wont' let you change wallpaper

Works fine here, where are you setting the image from?
I havent done it in a while but im sure I had to set it from Sonys album or it wouldnt work, cant remember if I had to go through the proper settings menu too (personalisation > lockscreen).
Hope that helps.

I did the same, before i reinstall the rom everything was good. Now i dont kmow why it doenst work anymore...

Found this the other day and thought I'd share it here. I'm currently using it on stock 4.1.2 (de-odexed) with no problems. IMO it's much smoother than any previous Xperia-based launchers.
All credit goes to ThilinaC for his amazing work!

It works fine for me. Although when I first flashed it I did have to reboot once or twice to get some of the widgets to work.
Might have to give this a shot

I flash it, it works ok, but the Theme function isn't work well.
some apps are missing, I have tried to clear data in app settings but no luck. I would have to constantly change between different views, like most recent or alphabetical, to find the apps. Anyone know how to fix it?

I used Titanium Backup to uninstall the sony apps.
You don't need to uninstall to switch launchers... settings > apps > all apps > home.apk(?) > clear defaults.

Try flashing the HDPI app drawer fix, and then clear the app data for Xperia Home.

That fix worked, I thought I had a different issue so I ignored that part when I was searching for it. Thanks

1. This is supposed to be in question sub.
2. No, you can't. You need a custom ROM for that. The closest alternative you might get without switching to something else is Sudo QuickLaunch and Home Button Launcher.
Thank you very much... And sorry for posting it in general sub. I didn't know where to post i

Sony Select not working after update

Since updating to 4.3 my Sony select asp will not work properly. It keeps telling me there is no network connection even when things are obviously fine.
Do far I have tried a restart of my phone and clearing all data and cache in the app. Nothing has worked so far.
On the Sony forum there seems to be a number of people experiencing this as well. I updated through the pc companion if that could possibly have anything to do with it.
Any other recommended course if action?

I check Sony forum, lot of people have the same problem since dec 22. It's annoying how they can put an update and nit assume it.:crying:
I'm facing the same issue! I tried deleting cache and all app data from the both "Sony Select" items that appear on the Apps list. No luck...

I'm in Norway and facing the same issue since update.

solution to Sony Select not working
Hello friends,
If you're looking, like me, for sony select just for theme. Here i have a solution for all of you, of course until sony update this problem.
You don't really need sony select to check theme, just go to "play store", and type Xperia theme. Or to be more specific type "Triflat" and after that scroll down until you get others titles from developer "KNOWIT MOBILE AB".
Hope this will help you guys, see you
It started working again last night. I have no idea why. I did also receive the Walkman update

[HOW TO] Enable Navigation/Softkey bar

Hey yall. After trying many methods of enable the soft keys which i really like my self, i finaly found out whats messing it up.
in /system in build.prop there is a bit of code which looks like that in the screenshot. my problem was i kept adding code when i simply needed to change the existing code to 0 instead of 1. as shown in the screenshot
also as you can see they work in the xda app. but the buttons dont work in any other app.
anyone know why? i tried changing resolution in build prop and nothing. so i need some help.
So again. My problem is that i cant get the nav bar to work all the time.
Okay um. Attempted to change DPI in build prop. It did work and change DPI but softkeys still only work on the xda app.
I'm thinking maybe disabling hw capatative buttons will fix the problem.

after doing some research, all i figured out was that i would have to decompile and modify the framework-res.apk...
even though i have experience with making apps, i get so lost in google's apps since they arent compiled with classes, its all pure xml and all of it doesnt make sense, so if anyone could, please, figure out what to do in the framework res, to make the nav bar work better, id be very grateful
you can find it at /system/framework
thanks
Well nice find so far! I really like the idea of on screen soft keys but what other use would it have that we can't get from the 3 hardware one's we've got? Does the screen feel crowded, because I imagine that with the thickness of them it'd be pretty cramped

Well you could give it a go and see what its like when running the xda app. Unless it works normal.
Um..screen isn't really crowded. Its about two status bars thick. Uses? Um...I know it has a recent app button. And if you're using a keyboard it will give you the option to minimize it. Other than that its just a nexus feel. And once you enable it you can use apps or xposed installer to have them minimized and you can toggle them like a status bar when ever you need it.

Well an odexed ROM basically prevents any modifications to the firmware or any major graphic ui change but in turn opens apps faster so I'm guessing that's the problem
That could be the problem.
Stock ROM works really well on my device so I'm not changing it till we get cm.
But I'm just wondering why it won't let the nav bar be persistent, even though I addad a persist command to it. And only works on the xda app
Sent from my HTC first using xda app-developers app
I think I figured out the problem. The framework-res.apk manages the overall layout of android, I just need to figure out which if the 600 xml files does that and give the nav bar a bottom margin.

Major find or not I've found out that the app also works with wordrefernce.com it's an old app. I found out today in French class lol but for some reason the on screen soft keys don't work with the premium xda app. Also I should say that there seems to be a 1 second lag when pressing the on screen keys. Unlike the hardware ones that are instant. I've also got lag everywhere else in the phone.. Don't know if this is a side effect

I've managed to freeze my phone many times just going through the app drawer so...its not a side effect.
I actually get around 700ms worth of lag using hard keys so I don't feel a difference. But yeah for some reason the only work on some apps...
Personal opinion. If you want a nexus feel then you would use it. But its gonna tale a while till I figure out what's wrong. I'm still working with framework-res.apk at the moment

see, i sold my broke first and when i was doing a factory reset and testing to make sure none of my info was present, the nav keys became persistent
So to make the be active 24/7 you MUST DO a factory reset....or maybe just a dalvik wipe, but i did a full reset and they worked fine.
you need to write script (i don't the commands) to enable it after qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
Auto Hide Soft Keys 's Spoof Soft Keys option can enable it via hack, so there is a way to activate it on boot when it doesn't show

Hiding pictures app like vaulty?

Hello.
I know that kitkat implemented something about only letting the certain app to gain access to the folder it's using or something like that. So applications like vaulty doesn't work anymore. Dunno why they even made it like that. It worked perfect on JB. Why change something wich is working.
But, are there any apps or ways of hiding pics/video and whatever nowadays on Kitkat firmware?

Hide It Pro have just a big issue to me, it move the pictures to his folder and is mess up with my stuff, I will prefer the pictures remain where they are.
AppsLock is very good but it missing the option to select single files, it just work for Apps, still good BTW.
