Hard brick - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Sorry for my english I'm french. I read all post on xperia Z hard bricked on xda but no solutions, hope someone could help me.
I got a xperia Z (bootloader locked, rooted, stock rom)
A morning I take it out of my wall charger, then the screen was freezing. I tryed a soft reset and from now no answer of life.
I try to make a hard reset by disconnecting the battery, didn't work. A lot of combination of touch, didn't work, even the rubber tape to try to put it into flash mode didn't work.
I think the battery is drained because when I plug it to the wall, the red led come for like 5 minutes then go off again.
What should I do ? Let him plug to the wall charger and hope to see a led coming before trying to flash ?
Thank you verry much for any purpose

Do you tried to hold power button + volume up to force restart ?
can you charge it for now ?

Yes of course I try reset with power and vol up but no luck !
There is no response when I plug it on my charger wall but after 2 days without plugin it to the charger, i think the battery was dead. Then I pluged it in the wall and the red led appear for some times then go out again. I'll think at this moment I should put him on my pc with flashtool ok and the rubber band trick.
SO now the plan is :
I've put him on my wall charger again for some times (like 48h), and when I will see a red led, I will do the rubber band trick on my pc. I'll keep you posted :good:

YEEAHHH It's ok I managed to flash my kernel in 20secondes and now works fine !! No sign of life at all before that !!
I want to thanks toledo_jab for is great work on sony xperia, allow me to understand the process with the led and everything !!
So if you have A hard bricked or soft bricked xperia Z !!
Let him plug to the wall charger, don't try to do anything like button combinaison or something ! After a couple of hours (15h for me) you will see the red led !!
Then : prepare flash tool ready to flash on your pc :
Unplug your phone from the wall charger and plug it to the pc with a rubber band on the down volume button to allow it to be put into flashmode
And it automaticaly should do the work when the phone will be detected (could take 20s like a couple of hour)
It's simple and save me 300euros thank you xda !!

Did you try the original charger? Did you try holding the volume up button, while connecting it to the pc?
Is your bootloader unlocked? If nothing helps I fear you have to give it to the sony repair...

? It acts like it is on flashmode, do you mean you can flash things...then flash it...
Do you get a green LED? If not then its not acting like its in flashmode.
I suggest you take it to the shop and say it wont charge, let them sort it on your warrenty

root and unbranding does not break warranty.
Flashing does need you to have some power in the battery. If you get a red LED when its connected to the PC then it is charging. Plug it in and leave it for a LONG time. Normally I say 24 hours on a wall charger but on a PC I suggest 48. In that time DO NOT TOUCH IT. Try to turn it on after 48 hours.

Did you also try to hold power + volume up? If not, try this and then charge it...
I own xperia p, same happened with, I tried contacting xperia online support, he told me to charge my phone for 30minute and meanwhile press power and volume up button, and I did so, and got my phone working again. Look, press power plus volume up till 3 vibrations and then power on your phone hope this help.

[Q] Stuck in Sony Logo with no battery at all, quick help needed plz

am really sorry if this was a repeated question, but am stuck in sony logo and i cant close the phone to make it charge, battery is dead, it closes it self for 5 minutes to charge then it opens back to the sony logo and stucks there till it consumes the battery then loops.
dont know what to do, i've searched here a lot with no accurate answer
i've tried (Power+vol-up) it closes then it automatically turns itself back on
its not even recognized by the flashtool and the PC companion
any help guys will be really appreciated
please any help guys, its really heating up like crazy
I've totally lost the the battery, it loops at the sony logo then totally off in less than a minute with red lid, then back on in the sony logo with lower red lid then off then on... etc
power + vol up for more than 20 sec does nothing, no vibrations, nothing at all
power + vol down does notheing
power + vol up and down for more than 20 sec does nothing as well
flashtool and PC companion are not recognizing it, while i just used the flash tool yesterday, same latest version with the same PC
i think its dead right now
if just anyone replied by telling me how to shut it down while keeps it charging, I could have prevented it from this endless loops and saved it
thanks guys for not helping at all, i had the feeling that am in a desert talking to myself here
anyway after like 10 hours of digging and digging i managed to fix it
if anyone has the same problem please follow this awesome guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2229250
one small comment: even the battery is dead the flashtool could detect your XZ, i think it reads the main ship with no power needed, just don't lose hope (I've tried to enter the flash mood like 20 times) and finally it worked, flashed my stock .67 tft then i got all physical indicators back (Lids, Vibrations, buttons are functioning) and it couldn't start as there were no battery at all, it gave me the battery icon and after like 5 minutes of charging it woke up

i think it wont charge as it can't reach the kernel, you have to find a dock charger then plug your device in till the green notification light is on, which means u've reached 90% of battery charge.
the dock charger is the solution for this man, the wall charger won't be able to pass the kernel to charge the battery
then please follow the guide again after your XZ is charged up

maybe try holding down on vol key and plug into USB port of computer
something similar happened to me during my initial root process and i'm pretty sure that's what fixed it
or hold down + power until 3 vibes
then after hold power until boot up

I can not get it, do you have Xperia X or Xperia Z ?????
If former, I would advise you to address to the appropriate Xperia X forum
If latter, I would suggest to charge XZ in DK26 dock overnight and look if it comes to the life on the morning. (USB charging is vicious circle: it sends the signal to phone to boot as soon as the battery gets a bit charge, however this charge is not sufficient to boot it completely... so circle continues )

But i have a similar problem to the stated one. After flashing the new leaked 4.3 Rom from DoomLord my phone ran just fine for nearly a week. Yesterday i inserted a new sd card and wanted to format it in recovery. But then after formating sdcard1 my phone totally freezed. However i rebooted it from recovery. No led when i plug in. I tried every combination of buttons presses (also volume up + power button which does normaly the trick). I even opened the phone and unplugged battery for 2-3 min, still nothing. Do you guys have any idea what i else can do, or is my phone simply broken?

charage the phone for 24 hrs or overnight and try flashing the stock rom via flashtool. if it did not work with vol down button+power try this method 2
try to do a hard reset; (while NOT connected via usb or something) hold power+vol up, it will vibrate 1 time, and then 3 times quick. After that try to connect the usb (NOT while pressing any buttons) and press vol down+power
That should connect it into flashmode.

Unfortunately this didn't work. However after letting the phone charging for a while i got a red LED. Which disappears every 5 min and comes again after another 5. When i disconnect phone from charger and connect to my notebook nothing happens. I mean I press vol down + power there is nothing the phone doesn't react. If i try i hard reset. The red LED is blinking and the phone doesn't vibrate .

Ok, I disassembled the phone again. I removed battery and measured voltage seems to be fine. Besides battery life was OK when it worked (OK compared to my SXplay ). Additionally i tried the battery trick from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2449242. However the bahavior on charger is still the same 5min red LED 5min no LED at all. Excluding it is a driver problem I ran flashtool on my linux machine and tested both the windows and linux flash tool with my xperia Play which is correctly detected in flash mode.
Thanks guys for your hints upon now but I would be happy to get additonal ones. I'm not afraid of disassembling and getting my hands dirty.
I hope I will get this great phone running again since I've really started to love it :-/.
Same situation with CM 10.2
Hi there I'm in the same situation with my xperia V.
Bootlocker unlock and flashed 10.2.0 (latest stable rel) and gapp. No issue everything was working but huge battery drain due to Media Scanner, so I've reboot in recovery wipe the cache and format the external sd then reboot all from the recovery menu.....then the phone is dead.
now in change since more that 30 hours and get red light for some minutes that nothing at all....nothing pushing power, nothing pushing volume nothing at all.....if i connect without battery to the power red light blinks.
how is that possible???? at least recovery node should work...is that an HW problem? but how can i have created an HW problem with a wipe a format and a reboot????
Please help...
Thanks in advance.

Ok i attached a picture. The measured voltage is 3.07 V between kathode and anode marked in red (of course I measured it when the battery was disconnected. Moreover you see the soldered connection to the back of the battery marked in green. I've already tried what I red in another post in this forum, where the guys there suggest to unplugg the battery and try to connect the phone in flash mode. This results in a blinking red LED :-/. No idea what else I can do

Charge the battery somewhere or buy new battery. 3.07V is not enough.

peetr_ is right, using GPS Essentials to measure my battery voltage at 12% charge (not the most accurate way I know) it's measuring at 3.611V

Yes, it's worth to try it. Just try to borrow it from someone, let it boot and try to use your battery again.
no way even changing the battery

Really? Neither flash mode?
xperia t now alive
hello guys I have a solution to this problem.and I guess you guys are lucky cause I experienced this problem also.you don't need to panic cause this will help.all you need to do is to get a new battery either online or in your domestic regions.if you wish to get it online go to aliexpress.com And it will be shipped to you no matter where you are on this earth.the reason is because the xperia t has been drained to the core and so it can't come on in other to flash in a kernel or image. When you've bought the battery you can actually fix it by yourself cause I'll Show you how.when you've fixed it then you flash in 4.3jb stock room in it and then your phone comes back alive like mine.IV actually used the phone for a month before that problem occurred but now say no more to that cause this thread will work 100%

pleaaase help my to recover it :""( .
sry for bad English.
.
That happend to me, exactly the same after installing the b854, with red light led on and off
I tried to unbrick for one week
My solution:
Shutdown the device and let it charge for a couple of hours to reach enough battery
Then connect phone to PC by USB and next turn on the device pressing Volume down and power at the same time
For one week it didn't go to fast boot but after a lot of trys it went through
Try variations of pressing those buttons but always connected to Pc and try even connect to electricity

The solution is just one. Downloading the back cover and turn off the battery - have to disconnect the tape. 5 min battery strapped on again and everything should work.
