I am looking for an app that will use the camera on the gTab. The camera apps don't work well since it is front facing. Some sort of chat app maybe?
Thanks,

I don't understand the question... what are you trying to do?
Qik seems to work for me. There is a thread in this forum with a link for the apk.
I would like to find something that uses the front facing camera. Maybe something like (shhhh) Facetime. Qik works for sending video, messages so I have tree it out now. Just seeing if there's something cool out there is all.
I've had my Incredible S for 3 days now and I absolutely love it.
It's my first Android phone so I'm still learning my way around, but one thing I can't find anywhere is video calling. Can someone please tell me how i start a video call?
Dont think its possible at the moment....the incredible S packs a front vga camera in preparation for android 2.3/3 as i believe google will roll out their next update with video calling as their new feature
I downloaded the Skype app too but there doesnt seem to be an option for a cam on that either. Maybe that is dependant on the OS too as I'm sure I read somewhere that video calling was possible with Skype.
No option for sending video on Skype for me either, but Video calling using Tango is great (except for some reason my send video is upside down !). Tango is great, and its cross platform.

So Froyo doesn't support video calling?
I can't believe they shipped the phone knowing that one of its main features would be unusable.
I guess i'll have to wait for the Q2 update.
Out of curiosity, is there any way to access the front-facing camera just for taking photos etc?

Yes, You can go into the camera app & click on settings. There is an option there to switch to front facing camera.
There's many programs to make video call.
Search on market for:
oovoo
fring
tango
yahoo messenger

According t my research HTC itself is coming soon with a new Video Chat application. I look forward to it !!!!!!!
I have all my apps backed up (my WP7 phone had a full unlock). Well someone stole that phone and I upgraded to the Lumia 820. Any chance I could use the Isolated Store I backed up from my old phone on an (obviously) locked down WP8? It would be a shame to lose my gamesaves and my car's mileage data and etc.
I didn't think I would be updating to WP8 so soon so I haven't been following the hacking / development. Is this possible now? Will it ever be possible in the future? I'm aware that custom ROMs are unlikely, given the hardware level encryption.
I did it today by moving Fragger game saves from Lumia 710 into Lumia 820. It's works only for sideloaded apps. Details soon.

Hi,
Because I am interested in the Nokia apps and there are no actual unlocked versions of them, I tried to unlock them on my own. The following apps do work great on my Samsung Omnia 7 with Dev Unlock.
Nokia Drive 3.1
Nokia Transport 3.1
Nokia Maps 2.5
Nokia City Lens 1.5 (Beta)
Creative Studio 1.3
I have read once, that Nokia will publish their apps also for other WP-devices, but nothing happened yet So this is the only way to get in touch with this wonderful apps. I don't think, that this is piracy, because they're originally free, but only exclusive for Nokia-devices. So I just have unlocked them for other devices...

Hi and thanks for sharing these!
I've had Nokia Drive, City Lens and Creative Studio already installed on my HD7 and use them quite frequently, but I would like to install Maps and Transport also... The problem is everytime I try to download them from File Upload, I click on the download link and I just get redirected back to File Upload and it doesn't allow me to install the xaps.
Can you possibly upload them to another hosting site?
Eid you click that small downloadlink under the Information?
Okay,
I uploaded the files on an other hosting site. here you go ..
Nokia Drive 3.1.0.3206: http://depositfiles.com/files/jmkhyzody
Nokia Transport 3.1.409.0: http://depositfiles.com/files/p0fh3kf9a
Nokia City Lens 1.5.17.325 BETA: http://depositfiles.com/files/51vfsn0jc
Nokia Maps 2.5: http://depositfiles.com/files/lusl6t6ns
Creative Studio 1.3: http://depositfiles.com/files/rxjrvdtvk
These apps are fully unlocked. So you can also install them on your Developer-Unlocked oder Chevron-Unlocked devices.
If somebody has newer versions of those apps, please send them to me. Thanks and have fun with these beautiful apps! Nokia did a pretty cool job
Yeah I was using the small download link and it would start to take me to the xap download but then redirect me back to FileUpload.net.
Thanks for re-uploading to Deposit Files... That worked perfectly and I was able to install both Nokia Maps and Transport!
Nokia Xpress would be much appreciated too - the data savings when on data plan (rather than WiFi) are very apealing!

which phone do you use? switching the marketplace only let you see and download the OEM-apps. but it doesn't guarantee that you can install it on your phone. my apps are unlocked for every Windows phone. so you can use it without troubles

yes I have tried yours and it closes right away.
Sorry if it's such an obvious question, but is there an equalizer app out already for Windows Phone 8?
I'm asking because I recently found out that the Nokia Lumia 520 does not have this feature, that is the only concern that is making me hesitate to buy that particular phone.
So if there are apps of that nature already released or in development, please point me to where those apps can be found, if there aren't any, then why not?
Thank you all for your time!
It would have to be phone-specific; you could probably write a music player app with an EQ feature, but if you want it to be device-wide, you'll need a special, device-specific app.
Your best bet for that is HTC; their WP7 phones had advanced audio features including an EQ that were made avaialble via an OEM app (made by HTC and only compatible with their phones).
On Nokia WP8 phones its under >settings >system and scroll down to audio..:victory: on WP7 I believe only the HTC phones have it.

I'm sorry but that's not what I meant, I'm asking this because a certain device, namely the Nokia Lumia 520, does not have an equalizer. I guess it was left out as a cost cutting measure to bring the price down. I'm asking if there's an app already out there that brings back that functionality to Lumia 520 users
Sorry if I wasn't clear enough.
You can't have it device-wide as an app, unless it's built into the ROM. If the setting that sinister1 mentioned isn't there, you could check the Nokia collection in the store, but you're probably SOL for a system-wide EQ.
If you just want an app-specific one... I don't know. That's possible (though computationally a bit expensive) but I don't know what apps, if any, feature it. Search in the store is probably your friend there.

So it doesn't show up under your settings? Well that blows. I'm not sure what version of WP the 520 uses but if it's WP8 then it should be there, go to your updates and see if there is any available.

Thanks for the advice, I'm screwed as I'm a music loving person but I'll suck it up anyway. Thanks
I asked about this to official Nokia care, they said Lumia 520 doesn't have hardware to support equalizer. As except 520, all Lumias have dolby enhancement. I don't get it, is dolby really a hardware thing ?? I thought MS doesn't allow such changes and that's why htc has to put beats' software instead if hardware in its wp.

If it makes you feel any better, I have it on my 822 and it really doesn't make much of a difference; my old HTC Trophy had better sound.
