Just got this info off the Portenzo Facebook Page! Pricing has not been announced yet but I'll be looking forward to it!
Portenzo cases for the Nexus 7 will be live for ordering tomorrow and the first orders will begin to ship on Friday!
https://www.facebook.com/Portenzo
EDIT: Pricing has now been confirmed at $39.99 (introductory price)
https://shop.portenzo.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=bookcase-for-nexus
EDIT:
I ended up going with the composition case.
To see my review, head over to post #200!!!! (page 20)
If it has the smart-cover magnet I will be in line right behind you.

Let's hope so. You would think that comes standard instead of optional.

I may be blind (must stop doing that naughty stuff ), but I couldn't find a link to the N7 product range from the portenzo main page .
Anyway, here's a direct link: https://shop.portenzo.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=bookcase-for-nexus
Look pretty stunning, not too bulky. BUT not cheap! Particularly if you're shipping internationally.
I think I may get one...
/edit: Notes/warning
1. Introductory offer starting at $39.95 so 10 bucks off.
2. I've read some pretty negative reviews about delivery time and customer service (from iCrap discussions) - a month or more to get the case, company deletes negative reviews and warnings about delivery times etc. So. Premium may come at a price that is more than just dollars!
edit2: Oh dear: Not what you'd expect for such a premium product: http://insofar.org/blog/portenzo-ipad-case/
Aww man it doesn;t have all the options like the ipad ones :|
Great find. I was looking at some cheaper cases but nothing really looked worth the money. Ordered mine tonight, hope it ships soon!
Since it has the smart cover magnets, I am in for one.

That was an interesting review. I love the book style cover and I guess after a year the case starts to wear out. I've read mostly positive reviews about their cases and only complaints really was about shipping time issues. Either way I think I'm going to give them a shot. Just emailed them about prices for the other style cases.
For some one who ordered it already, what options did you select and what was the final total?

I've had a portenzo case back when the Ipad 2 just got released.
Amazing product my case is still intact today, im totally going to get one for my nexus
wow these cases are expensive. I might invest i'm not sure yet...
Nice looking case and a little cheaper than Treegloo.
I think the mark of a good company is not necessarily an excellent product, but what they do when things go wrong. It seems that this is where Portenzo falls a bit short. And a 90 day warranty? If you're pitching something as a 'premium' product, and you're only prepared to offer 3 months on that superior workmanship, what are you saying to your customers ?
I don't have a lot of respect for iSheeps - they're generally little lambs being led to the slaughter with wallets held in front, and I'm just a bit wary that this is a company that takes this into account :silly:.
Having said that, I have ordered one - it's the kind of case I'm looking for, so I'm going to take a chance. Will review as soon as it arrives (and also comment on speed of production & delivery). They claim that they'll be shipping the first ones by Friday, but I assume these will be a batch that they've pre-made and it'll be to people who just happen to have ordered what they predict will be the most popular format...
Probably gonna end up keeping treegloo. Treegloo looks slightly nicer. Also has a yellow cloth inside to protect the screen.
I'd be all for Portenzo if they had a composition book style for the Nexus 7. I'd also like a better warranty.

I emailed too. Heard back today that there will not be a composition case. Bummer! I'm looking at GT 7.7 cases now since the dimensions are similar. May give Zenus a look.
I have a Kayscase coming as well as screen protector. There's also a chance I'll stop there. I can get a little case crazy. You should have seen me with my now sold iPad. I was obsessed.
Would like to see a better design, with magnetic strip enabled rather than a $10 added on feature.
too bad no grey cover.
I can't make up my mind between treegloo and portenzo.

I was OK with paying $25.00 at the most. But 9.99 for shipping? They're really adding insult to injury there!!

I'd love to see how they justify $9.99 for 4.7oz of material.
most of the reviews of this case basically says it kinda sucks, doesn't have smartcover fuction, and offers fairly little protection... and they still don't seem to have the color options they showed pictures of from Asus.
when you can get dozens of cases that will fold back, have smart cover functions and are about 1/3 the price, its kinda dumb
Yeah, no smartcover is ridiculous for this price range. No way!
I'd be willing to sell mine to anyone in the Seattle area. Not a fan of it.

How have they been backordered until today if I ordered mine around Wednesday I think and I just got the email today? And I've paid more for other Nexus cases, and its not like its $60.

Definitely an easy pass. Case isn't worth $20 itself, needless to say another $10 to ship it. What a joke Google...
Not to hijack the thread. Just a question for everyone. It has probably been discussed elsewhere but you all seem interested on the topic. I know people have discussed if Google was in violation of crapple's patent for the smart cover. Do you ever wonder if Google decided to launch the device without a smart cover in order to not draw attention to it to avoid a lawsuit knowing others would make accessories utilizing it? They could claim it was for a dock or something.
I know this is a stretch, but how else do you explain such a pointless accessory? Also I know the Apple patent was very specific to the actual smart cover and that Google will be fine.

I dont want it to stand up. I know its not a smart cover.
I want a thin case with a cover for the screen.
Seems like it should work for me.
Also I currently have a leather case that is smart and fits perfectly in.... but I want it thinner.... And I can't get the "looks like a 15 year old nokia case" out of my head.
The rubber rounds the edges and raises the screen. Good enough for setting it down and providing some defense from casual tumbles from the bed or couch. I don't want a smart cover, I use a password every time and the button is right there. Why do people always find stuff to complain about, instead of ways to enjoy what you just bought. There will always be something better, find what works for you.

Cheap Chinese stuff is great! haha. TPU case for 7 bucks. I do like the case you got though.
Too expensive for me, around $65 with tax and shipping. I'll wait for Amazon. Happy shopping.

Just spent my $63.25. Called 7 sprint stores before I found one in stock. Man it makes it bigger, but if it saves me $150.000 on insurance deductible its worth it. I also like the back much better now it has grips so it won't slip in my hand.

$65 well spend. Otterbox makes top quality cases and they stand 100% behind their product. They have the best customer service ive ever seen and will go above and beyond for their customers. Buy a cheap case and you're basically SOL if you dont like it or its defective.

I did not pay retail price for my Note 2. I sign a two year agreement with T-Mobile and they discount the Note 2 for $150, but you need to ask for the retention department.

With sprint the upgrade price is 300.00 and deductible is 150.00. This is my first otterbox because all my other phones had slide out keyboards. So whats the cost to replace it with t-mobile?

Otterbox isn't for everyone, but I'll gladly spend 60 bucks to keep me from having to pay a 200 deductible. And the cases have a 1 year warranty. Anything goes wrong or it breaks/gets broken, they replace no questions asked.
