Little help needed - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have recently bought a new original battery of note from Samsung but I'm scared how long will it survive and prevent my phone from flickering that's why I'm confused whether to sell phone or not please advice me how many months my battery will prevent flickering thanks
Sent from my Galaxy Note using XDA Free mobile app

That's easy: wait until it starts flickering again and then buy again a new battery. Count the months and you'll know.
If you really sell your device it would protect us from questions like this one

Thanks will try that as battery is too expensive

Depends entirely on the battery and your use. I would say 5 - 25months.

Your next phone?

After owning the galaxy there's no question in my mind most of us will remain with Samsung and android especially people who use custom Roms. But what's next after having this amazing phone?
It has been a year now since I've had mine, and obviously its soon time to upgrade.
For me I think ill skip the galaxy S 2... I don't think its worth the upgrade just yet.
I am waiting to see if Samsung will release a phone with 2gigs of ram and maybe a quadcore? 2ghz CPU?
That's my dream within the next year but that's unlikely so ill likely settle for 1.5 gig in each and dual core CPU.
I wonder what area will get more attention in the near future.
Galaxy S III but its not out till later next year or the Nexus Prime
Possibly a Nexus 3 or a Galaxy S III. I really wanted a Nexus One but the GS is my first Android phone and the Nexus s wasn't all that appealing to me. I don't plan on buying a new phone until early next year so right now I would say it could be either of those two.

I'll skip the SGS2 also and wait for number three, right now with all the custom roms I am very pleased with my SGS
What do you guys believe should be the focus of future upgrades?
Battery life?
More features? 4g etc nfc .. better front facing camera?
Or performance improvement?
We know they will attempt to do it all but the likelihood of pulling off everything is very low.
Samsung Galaxy Note 5,3 Zoll
SGS II .

I think that they must give us a battery which can last for days otherwise, why do I need the phone which is on the power almost every night? What if I want to take it to the hiking or camping? Or, they can make solar cells in the back. There is nothing else that they can add to this phones , maybe altimeter, barometer. But I think they will go the pc way, programs and games will get bigger and needy, so performances will follow..

There was a rumor going around that Amazon was making a Mobile Phone. The battery cover had solar cells on the back.
I have a G2x right now, and I'm in no rush to upgrade. My phone is up to par with most devices out right now.

I would expect when they get the 2012 quad-core
I'll wait a couple of years, when there will be a 16-core which can do me a coffee, teleport me and make me travel in time
Xiaomi M1!
Most probably the Galaxy prime, looks sexy to me. My galaxy s now feels slow after I tried a dual core.phone.

The i9250

Definitely not a phone bigger than the SGS.
I want a phone, not a tablet. The Prime and the SGSII are automatically eliminated.
Fortunately my SGS and Atrix will buy me time, until the right form factor comes along with the extra muscle under the hood...

I hate my Galaxy. Most unreliable phone I have ever had: Terrible battery life, hickups and random slowdowns, poor GPS and modem, poor wifi and (happened again yesterday) random resets. I'm done with anything Samsung makes - you just never know about their products.

For anyone else not happy about battery life on the SGS, get yourself a Samsung Armani 1650Mah battery. (Same physical size as stock!)
I get a day to day and a half with no problems, and I abuse my battery. (especially with the display and browsing)
I can easily make it through the day on a full charge...

Obviously the battery is faulty. Is it a genuine Samsung one or one of those cheap Chinese knock-offs ?. Dont use the battery again or you may destroy your phone next time.

(Q) Should I get this phone?

I need a new phone for work, could someone please tell me if this phone can keep up with:
Typing 3 words a second (quite a few phones can't keep up with my speed unfortunately.)
Slight drops, maybe from 4ft on a floor as hard as rubber tarmac (like in children's playgrounds)
Slight water resistance (a few drops on the screen)
My s2 survived for 4 months of this usage, along with about a year of normal usage.
Can this phone cope? Thank you ever so much !

In that case there are many more cheaper options available. However, if you want a phone of at least this caliber, I suggest you to get an SII again.

You can tey the Samsung xcover. It's an outdoor amartphone

I wouldn't recommend. A friend of mine got one and received constant force closes in all application after flashing a new firmware. This is the second case I'm aware of.
Nowadays I would buy a Xperia with native CM10 support.
Recommend this over the S2

sony liveview for galaxy note 1?

guys i am planning to buy sony liveview, is it working in our note 1 (n7000)? i there anyone using it?
Is it battery eater for our note?
I've got one and I've used it on my Note 1. The battery drain on the phone is not a problem it's the battery on the LiveView that's the problem. It only lasts about 4 hours.
I'm trying to get a cheap Sony Smartwatch.
If you have any problems then feel free to contact me.

It also loses connection quite frequently too.
It honestly does last for only 4 hours. Unless I've got a duff one with a weak battery.

It does and it also loses connection when the phone and LiveView are together.
If for example I wanted to go to the toilet and that is leave both Note and LiveView on a table in another room or take them both with you. Neither are ideal.
I'm looking at getting a Sony Smartwatch I think the time remains if it disconnects.

Samsung galaxy note 3 is a big mess.

I loved my note 2 but I was expecting note 3 to make me more happier, first the boot loader is locked which has already pissed me off. Then so many other issues google map voice was on s voice then it got fixed now WiFi is not working properly then as a business man I need my phone to ring whenever someone needs my service but when it is in my pocket for whatever reason it goes on silence mode and so many other things that is giving me enough reasons to sell it and buy note 2.
Just wanted to share my experience here. The phone is fast but I would still prefer note 2

I thought about going back to a note 2 also when I fist got the ATT note 3. What you should really do is sell your ATT note 3 and buy yourself a T-Mobile note 3, then root, unlock using chain fires region unlock (3 bucks) throw your ATT sim in the tmo phone, change your APN's to ATT and flash what ever you want. This phone has been rock solid for me in every way since I switched to a tmo phone on ATT network.

I'm just sick of "android os" keeping my phone awake 5-6 hours and completely killing my battery in 11..When it's not being used

Well something is running in the background then (besides android os) cause my battery last's almost 24hrs with 3hrs of screen time and heavy benchmarking.

I agree. When my Note 3 isn't being used, the battery depletes at just 1-2% per hour. That's stock/unrooted, nothing done about bloatware, WiFi and GPS enabled, no power-saving modes used.

I agree. Mine used to be that nice. I can not figure out what's going on. I've uninstalled just about everything..it seems to happen when my signal is weak but android os is strange way to report it. Plus my signal has always been weak at work but this android os/battery drain is only about a week old. It started when I rooted using kingo.
Something during that process or something they have hidden is killing my phone...I'm on m19 so not possible to return to stock.

You should try putting it in airplane mode for a while (when your not expecting any important calls or texts) and see if the drain remains. Or else unroot and do a factory reset.

Gsam, better battery stats, wakelock detector, carat. It seems to be when my signal is weak. I'm good right now but I'm on wifi/lte. When I get back to work..it drops.
Being on build m19 I was under the impression that I couldn't unroot and factory reset..I've read I couldn't return to stock. Maybe I'm mistaken.

You are so right bro, this would be a good lesson for me to wait little longer and not buy a phone which can not be optimized the way I like it.
Nexus 5 and back to note 2,would be my options but I am also thinking about s5 which is around the corner.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using xda app-developers app
I have times when the battery drains faster than others and I'm pretty sure it's because the phone is switching between 3g and lte constantly while at work where the lte signal is weak. When I'm away from work battery drainage is just fine. Do you have a weak lte signal making the device constantly switch frequencies?

Yeah, that's pretty extreme. My battery's been discharging for almost 3 hours, and my Android OS shows 15% usage, CPU total 5m29s, Data sent 24.90KB, Data received 337KB. Stay Awake isn't even listed for it.

I wouldn't wait on the s5, unless it's with another carrier. It's going to be locked down just like the note 3. Heck pretty soon we won't need an AT&T section on xda anymore.

Well I wouldn't buy the Att version if it is gonna be locked like note 3 , hell no.
I am gonna wait for s5 to come out and pay the full price and forget about Att. I agree with you there would no Att section on xda since Att sucks. It pisses me off to check the other carriers note 3 section and how they enjoy customizing it and here we are stuck on att 's B.....SH.....T
