My issue is that I can get data but no phone or text. I believe I screwed-up my modem or something else I'm not aware of. I am on Stock w/Goodies android 4.3. Anyway, I was wondering if there is a flashable modem for this device or is someone knows what else my issue could be please point me in the direction for a fix. Its not the carrier or my account.
Am I correct in stating that Modems are also considered Roadio's.....if so, then I feel like a total dumba$$ :silly:

Hi, I bought a Cappy in december, I rooted, unlocked it (I'm not in the US) and installed Cognition 2.3b8 first, then moved to 3.X, everything was perfect, but yesterday I started with dropdowns in data service then the whole service, I have signal (changing to out-of-service), but I can't make/receive calls, send messages or get data connection, today I flash the phone back to stock and even in stock I have the same problems, also I already try different modems without luck.
Is this a hardware issue?
Thanks!
Give this a try

Thanks...but I know how to install a custom ROM, I already tried Serendipity, Cognition and changing Kernel to SpeedMod and Firebird and different radios (ZNKP1, JK4, JL2, JL1, JL3) and no luck
Have you confirmed that your phone is still unlocked after flashing back to stock?
Check your IMEI number to see if you don't have the generic one.
Check product code to see if it's not botched also.

Well, after installing stock, I insert my SIM back and did not ask for the unlock code, so I assume it's still unlocked.
My IMEI is the same as in the box and IMEI SV = 01
Where can I check product code??
Try *2767*4387264636#
Thanks! Product code is SGH-I897ZKAATT
Everything seems right, if I had to guess... It's more on the unlocking issue after you flashed Froyo with your network.
Try referring to this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=831569
I just checked network status screen and everything is off, so the phone it's unlocked :S
Sorry I can't provide you with any more help brotha.
You don't have a corrupted nv_data.bin file, which is good.
Your IMEI number is correct, which I suspected first, cause there were discussion of the generic IMEI number not working on other networks besides AT$T.
Since it doesn't matter what rom, kernel, modem combination you use with no avail.
I would wait to see if someone else chimes in here that might have other ideas.
Things I would do though: Call to see if there is any outages.
Update through kies to see if you get service from the update.
Hope its not hardware related.
Sorry again and good luck. I will keep on searching for ya though

I have a CDMA Milestone on a small local carrier (Bluegrass Cellular), and flashed the C 1.43 baseband (stupid mistake!). My carrier uses the C1.07. I found the .SBF file and flashed it using RSD Lite. I now have the correct baseband and 2.1 Android installed, but apparently the settings for the EVDO are wrong. Is there any way to find and change these settings? I took it to see if Bluegrass Cellular could do anything with it and they seem to know less than I do. I told them that it had previously been rooted, and they just assume that's what caused the problem. The phone, texting, and everything else works fine-just not the mobile network. I hope I haven't made a $300 mistake! Any ideas?
I'm in the same boat so if anyone has a solution or a stock Bluegrass sbf it would be much appreciated.
I'm with bluegrass also and am trying to avoid this very dilemma. Did it mess yours up when you flashed a ROM or how?
Sent from my A854 using XDA App
Try flashing another rom, another version ?
Since phones now have USB, i don`t think u can brick it...
And since nobody got a solution, u should keep trying til u find a solution or someone post it here ;D
Well, just as the title says. I have an I9000L in here that has no signal. Thought it might be an issue with csc files since it was updated to ICS, but then i flashed it back to gingerbread and nothing change. I used the stock rom with no luck, problem is that it shows imei, baseband and everything in place. Thinking it might be a hardware problem to this point. But i oppened it and everything seems in place. Just wondering if it may have a burned baseband chip. But then again it shows the baseband version so my guess is thats not the case. Could someone help me on this???

Check your network settings
menu.settings>wireless and networks > mobile networks
or try https://play.google.com/store/apps/...SwxLDEsImNvbS5ha3ZlbG9uLnNpZ25hbHRyYWNrZXIiXQ..
Nope, no luck with the apk. Neither checking network or anything like that. The phone will just not allow me to do so. Like i said, the weird thing is that everythin seems to be working fine. I have an efs backup so i deleted the nv_data.bin to check if the phone is creating a new one and it is. It shows baseband, imei and everything. im starting to guess its a hardware failure but then again. The phone is almost brand new. I mean it was bought not too long ago. It was unlocked, and after flashing it shows multiple csc contents. I have fix something similar to this by applying the PCT csc(Claropr csc). But this time nothing is working...
The reason you didn't have a signal on ics is probably due to the fact you didn't flash a modem from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1158783
[CM7/MIUI/ICS/CM9][06.01.12] Modems + Bootloaders(MD5)
So it might be worth going back to ics, doing that to get your signal back, and then reverting to Sammy Rom to see if that sorts it....btw there are no csc files on aosp/cm9 Roms
Okay thanks M8, one other thing. Initially the phone had signal on ICS. It was DOCs ICS if i can remember. I think that custom firmware will flash a new modem? Or not? And is it possible that it had signal and lost it because of that? Anyways thanks i will give it a try then....

Some ics Roms do, some don't, you can always flash another in recovery of the one that comes with Rom is no good for your region
ALWAYS make sure you are using the right radio for your phone. It solves many network issues
Ok then so i guess it might be a hardware issue if thats the case. Because i have use that rom before on a i9000 and never seen something like this. Hummm! Ive done just about everything and i cant still get signal. Goshhh! I rather have the phone showing no baseband or something than dealing with this....
You have checked your apn settings haven't you?!
Yeap M8 APN settings are correct. But in fact APN settings have nothing to do with the cell phone signal in terms of calls. If your phone is working it will receive the signal. The APN settings as far as im concerned will just set the internet and mms settings. Maybe with them set the phone will try to reach the towers(Antennas) but anyways the APN settings are correct.
Hey everyone i have had massive problems with the IMEI on my i9000 finally managed to flash back to stock ROM but im still getting no signal. The IMEI is fine and i have a backup of the efs folder saved. What files do i need in this folder as i will delete all of the contents then start again.
Thanks
If your still getting no signal but are not getting "No Service" then either the modem you flashed in the stock ROM is utter pants for specific handset so trying flashing a different modem or a different ROM altogether :/
But if a different modem or ROM doesn't fix it then you have a antenna problem... sorry bud
Hey mate,
Cheers for the reply. I will try a new ROM can you recommend any small ROM's that will work on my device? I don't know a great deal abour ROM's and flashing in general tbh.
I need to finish my guides badly! Then I'd just be able to point you towards them :/
But since their not... cause I've been lazy, please head over to SamMobile/ and create an account if you haven't already done and download the correct firmware for you i9000.
Getting the right firmware is difficult, it's even more difficult since I'm guessing you don't know the PDA build from what the phone was running originally... for example by phone when I got it was running I9000BVJV7 which is actually Android 2.3.3 for the UK and sim locked to Orange.
When you take into account that the Android version, the country and the carrier have an effect on the specific firmwares for two (on the face) identical phones you can begin to see how many millions of different firmwares there are out there just for one phone...
So just try your best and read all the helpful info on SamMobile. If you get really really stuck or if something nasty happens to the phone while flashing either come back to this thread or PM me and I will talk you through a recovery kit that will hopefully restore the phone to a stock ROM (but not official stock ROM).
Since you're new to flashing please be reminded flashing can completely kill a phone to the point of no return, having said that I must have flashed a million times in both ClockworkMod and Odin but that doesn't mean death can't happen at any time.
Thanks mate i really am grateful for the help. I will give that a go and see what i can find.
Downloaded all of the vodaphone rom's and all of the orange roms. The device was used on vodaphone and im still getting the same error :/ any more ideas?
First i know i'm an idiot, i thought i knew what i was doing but i had no idea, i figured how hard could it be I've rooted a G1 and a Droid Eris.... but alas i was way over my head.
I have a Note 9 from KSA (Saudi Arabia) i'm a contractor there and it was way cheaper than buy in the states plus a dual sim variant. i tried flashing to the Detonator T-mobile rom, and now i'm left with a phone i can not use, I did not create a partition, i have backup all my personal data, but the original firmware is in the ether. I flashed what i thought was a dual sim international firmware, but all it did network lock my phone so god knows what international network, since neither my T-mobile or STC sim work in it. On top of that even though it has a "stock firmware" it's still rooted so knox has been triggered and even if my sim's worked all Knox linked programs wont work.
So what i need from you fine Ladies' and Gentlemen is a solution to get it as close to the stock version as possible, at this point dual sim functionality or the Wifi calling i was trying to flash on to it are second to having the phone function as a proper note 9 again. IF anyone has the stock firmware or knows of a place where i can get the original firmware, no i'm not asking for hacked version, yes i'm willing to pay for it as long as it works. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Yeah, I know that Samsung devices purchased in the UAE are partitioned differently than those purchased in the rest of the world. I would recommend that you repartition the storage in your device and reinstall the stock OS back onto it again. That should resolve yoru issue. I don't know how to do this. Maybe somebody else can chime in a help you out.

do you by chance know where the Partition would be because i had not had any luck locating it. or the firmware for that specific region.
