Hey, a fellow XDA member has managed to soft brick his One. He flashed a bad zip file, and his phone boot loops. He cannot access the boot loader as he has Fast Boot turned on in Settings - Power, however he can't turn this off as he can't turn the phone on. Has anyone got any advice?

No the LEDs just flash forever
put the phone under a bright light.
hold down power, lights will flash and phone will shut down in about 15-20 seconds
then hold volume down and power to get back to bootloader

hello,
actually it's my problem. thanks MacHackz for all the help he already has done for me.
I tried that with a bright light. it worked in this way that phone really turns off, but as soon as I remove the light, it turns on again. I cannot get it into bootloader.
EDIT: I flashed the phone with MAG-light from the start of charging. screen was black, but buttons started to blink. it went into hboot, and from there I went into recovery. I went to a reboot and press power off. I'll recharge it fully, and then I'll try to sideload a new ROM.
EDIT II: I tried to charge it, but it simply wont stay off. as soon as I plug the cable in, it turns on! I manage to enter HBOOT so I went into recovery and there phone is charging. so, I'll recharge it there and upload a RUU.
does anyone has right RUU? I have EU version from UK.
Did you not make a backup before flashing ??, there is a list of roms on Mikes Android Revolution Rom post - have a look at his guide
Heres another list also http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2194707

many thanks man indeed, you helped me like anyone before !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wow...i've been sitting in my dark bedroom for the past 90 minutes trying everythign to wake up my damn phone after it crashing and not coming back to life. ADB was still responsive but none of the reboot commands would do anything. FINALLY found this, went in the bathroom, held the phone up to the light with the power button help down and 10 seconds later it's back to life. double you tee eff...
I was trying to force the 4.3 update and ended up with a bricked HTC One Google Edition. I was holding down the power button to bring up the option for Airplane Mode and didn't realize I was holding down the Volume Down button too. The capacitive buttons flashed a few times and the phone shut down. I plugged it in to the charger but didn't get the charging LED. I plugged it in to my PC, but it didn't see the phone. Any ideas what may have happened and if or how I can fix it? The phone is completely stock. I didn't try to unlock the bootloader or root the phone.
What happens when you try to boot the phone?
AT&T HTC One
GPe 4.3
Remove the battery.... Lol
I think this happened to me. Just power button or remove the USB and then do the power and vol down and see if you can boot into hboot. It's for sure not bricked. Pressing buttons wouldn't cause that to happen

Nothing at all. I've tried all combinations of power button alone and power button with volume up/down/both. I'd hate to think I killed my phone because I fat fingered the volume button.
Ok, it stopped being a ****. I found another post suggesting holding the Volume Up and Power. After about 90 seconds it buzzed itself back to life. I appreciate the quick response to my question. I'm just going to wait for my 4.3 notification now lol.
Hello,
I've just installed this ROM after wiping Cache/Delvik Cache and system wipe.
Now the phone is stuck on the boot screen and I can not get back into recovery to sort it out.
I held down power & vol+ buttons to get into recovery but nothing happens. The Home & Back buttons flash after 3 seconds then nothing happens.
Any thing else I should do to get into recovery ( TWRP)
My friend whop is a member asked this question on the Developers forum and so far no luck.
we have tried the following:
This is suggested by chogardjr: Plug your phone in to charge. Don't use a USB port for power. After you plug it in try the hard reboot again.
PLEASE HELP
Just for the sake of testing... Have him hold power without holding the volume. It should force reboot, not to the bootloader, so he can get a feel for how the reboot works. It can be finicky during a bootloop cause there are processes trying to run in the background. But it should do it if you hold power long enough.
Edit:
Also find out if the charge light comes on when he plus it in.
Tried and no joy.......
The only other option I can suggest is plugging it into the PC and using adb to issue an adb reboot.
#adb reboot recovery

Hold the front top left corner of the phone under the bright light. When the phone shuts off, immediately release power button and hold volume down.

Also try rebooting under a bright light. Sound weird, but sometimes it helps.
Peace.
EDIT: We must have been typing that at the same time... lol
Sorry but I dont know the ADP. I have downloaded and istalled the Android SDK Manager. I do apologise, but I feel a totol.....IDIOT

I'm running a rooted phone with Venom Rom and TWRP. Last night I decided it would be a good idea to make a backup of my phone. So I restarted to recovery using the option in Venom and then made a backup in twrp. When it was done, I rebooted my phone and it got stuck at the HTC startup screen. I reset it and this time once the screen went black, it stayed black. Now I cannot turn it on no matter how long I hold the power button for and the charging led does not turn on when its plugged in. When I plug the phone into a pc, the pc will me the connected noise but I cannot get to the files or anything. I tried removing my sim card and I still cant boot up. Any ideas?

What do you mean while connecting/disconnecting? I plugged my phone into the pc and held the power and volume button and all it did was play the connect and disconnect noise several times.
EDIT: So I think i just fixed it, I held the power button and both volume buttons down for 7 minutes and it finally turned on, but it is showing 5% battery, even though when it shut off it had 40%

See, the same thing happened to me sometime back.. What I did was shine a flashlight on the light sensor while holding the power+vol down buttons, that didn't seem to work
Then what I did was hold the button combination for around 10secs till the buttons below the screen flash, then connect it to your pc while keeping the combination pressed... Eventually your phone lights should stop blinking and you should boot to hboot..

Good, now charge the phone till 100 and let it discharge completely before charging it back to 100.. This should recalibrate the battery, and should start giving you the right percentages..

Ok, thanks a lot!
Hey,
I bought an HTC ONE M-7 from a user who was running it on a custom Rom and had it S-OFF.
While trying to put stock Rom on the phone via the pc, the pc crashed in the middle of the process and the mobile stopped responding. The phone stayed in this condition until the battery ran dry. Since that moment, the phone doesn't turn on by any combination of hardware buttons as mentioned on different forums. While plugged in to a power source the screen just blinks on and off.
I would be highly obliged if anyone can help me out of this situation.
