Hi, I was wondering if anyone else has this problem as it is quite annoying. I have the standard WM6.1 rom from three australia (3.29.861.0 WWE).
I have SMS and MMS as one item in messaging and threaded sms is on. when sending and receiving SMS, its fine, but as soon as someone sends me an MMS, the whole thread for that person gets their name replaced with the phone number instead.
if I turn off threaded SMS and look at all the messages normally, I can see that all SMS's have the contact name as normal but all MMS's have the number instead of the name. If I click the number, it still goes to the correct contact in my phone book.
anyone seen this or know how to get names appearing on my mms's?
thanks
Jayme
jayme, did you fix this? I am also experiencing this issue.
Hello all,
I have searched and found the fix to raise the limit to send MMS, but I don't think that is my issue. Here is what my phone is doing...
When I send a SMS txt message all is fine if it is in deed a short message. But it used to send the message in multiple messages (if longer then 160) but now it does not.
Any clue why?
FYI: I am on HyperDragon_IV_IOLITE_WWE_20090204
But my guess is this is a setting or an option, not a ROM issue.
Hi.
I have some problems with messages. (sms)
People send me sms and I cant recieve them. No sms.
When I send a sms I got a copy of it in my inbox as a new sms.... It will also go to the person I send it to.
Strange.... whats wrong? Have not changed anything in settings.....
Somethings wrong with the sms-software?
/M
I have same problem, I tried a new ROM but same prob, have you solved your problem?
My HTC Touch Viva keeps displaying me the error message "Failed to send message" while I try to send a simple SMS...it only happens with only one mobile phone number... I can send SMS to all the others contacts without problems!
I can resolve this problem deleting the conversation with this number and creating the new message: only in this the message is sent.
Is there anyone with a solution?
I had same problem with my friend's number. My SMS did not go when I replied to his SMS.
You just make a new SMS and send it to your friend.
You may remove his contact information and create a new contact to him. I guess this problem will be solved then.
I bought my Galaxy S the other day:
Model # SHW-M110S
It's a Korean Anycall original unit, it's open-line...I had no problems with calling and receiving calls and receiving SMS...but then i wasn't able to send messages, a "invalid sender" error appears everytime i try to send sms. Then I found a way how to send, it was Messages>compose messsage>left main key>Change sender...then put my number as "FROM" to the message before sending. I have to do this everytime I send SMS which is a hassle, i was wondering why do i have to this all the time? Isn't it already automatic that sending messages with the default number of my Sim Card? And another thing, I can only send up to 80 bytes of text, after that, it automatically changes to a MMS....is it really that short? Or can I extend the text messaging without automatically making it to an MMS messsage like any other phones....Please help me with this technical thing...it would be a great help...ThaNX!
Have you tried the app handcent from the market? It might be helpful.
