Liquid is too hot?

I mean really hot! Normal usage is ok but when I play games or use web browser for half an hour, it turns hot (back and front, lower body). Does anyone have the same problem?
Another thing is the charging time is too long!

Yes the liquid tends to warm up at the lower back half and once that happens, theres no way you can recharge it till it cools down. Feedback from acer engineers theres a temp sensor right behind the battery and if the temp goes above 40c...it'll stop charging. I think that maybe is one of the reason Acer didnt really launch this model worldwide?

Phones with Snapdragon chips in them get warm. The Desire does it; the Nexus does it. I wouldn't worry. My nexus takes about two hours to charger to full.

I have the same problem, its very hot, im worried for the health of cpu and battery..

At least for the charging troubles, using setcpu I defined to run at 500 (around) MHZ when on charge and no overheating then, plugged from evening till morning or using gps for 2,30 hrs with charge connected. It stills warm but no overheating... Tips from EvIl rom, not mine

The lower part is where the CPU is, battery heat would be from the upper back part. Also computer USB charging is slower than wall socket charging.

Is it normal for bottom of N1 to get hot after installed froyo?

After I installed froyo, every time i use my N1 to surf the net, it get hot and lose battery charge fast. I don't know it is normal or what but with eclair, it was never like that. Maybe it is a bug but i need some suggestion, should i just wait for google officially release froyo or should i call HTC to replace the phone?

if they would even do it.... certainly does not sound normal at all.... can you just go back to 2.1 and see if it is ok?

Dude, I'm so glad you posted that, I have been worried the whole week because I am having the same problem.
I started noticing it a few days ago, but didn't think it was important because it was a specially hot day here is Spain (we reached 38ºC during the afternoon) and imagined electronics would be affected too.
However, it continued during the next days. The antenna cover (where the letters "htc" are written gets mildly warm / extremely hot for no apparent reason, although surprisingly the battery is cool when removed. Last night the phone had a temperature of 40ºC after having been idle all evening and just using the browser for ten minutes.
I also think it can be because of Froyo, since I didn't have this problem before installing it. However, if it turns out it IS a hardware problem, what would happen? Would htc repair my phone, or replace it altogether? I've never had to send a phone back for repair so I wouldn't know.

My nexus that I just bought last night gets a little warm near the bottom. If it hurts to touch it then it's "hot".
I think it's just that you're paying more attention to your phone now that you've modded it. Kinda like when you get a turbo kit installed on your car. You start paying more attention to it. You hear things you've never heard before. Wondering if the turbo kit is causing problems. When in all reality it's been making that noise before the kit you've just noticed it now. Hope that shed's some light on it.

The question is, it gets a little warm when you're doing what and after how long?
I've also considered the possibility that I'm just more aware now, but I really don't think that's the case. The phone is not boiling hot (as in, it hurts to touch it) but it's not something you would fail to notice either. If you grab it in an horizontal position, the heat definitely gives you an uncomfortable sensation.
I used to feel my phone getting hot after using the GPS for a long time, especially under the sun: but not it happens after browsing for 10 minutes at night, that's just ridiculous.

i too noticed this problem. especially the rapid battery draining during browsing jumps out to me. when idle or doing something else, battery life is normal. when the processor is intensively used, i believe the battery drains at a disproportional rate to other use.

stock 2.1 and mine gets pretty warm at the bottom of the back when using for extended period or when its charging. Been the case with most of the smartphones I have had so I just wrote it off as normal, even more normal as this is the thinest smartphone I've had. Coming from a Touch Pro2.

Yea, you just described my situation but when I turn my screen brightness to minimum, the rapid battery drain isn't so bad. The battery temperature stay around 97 to 98 F. I hope the official froyo release will fix all this.

Guys, I have installed the latest CM and the heat problem seems to have gone away. I have to keep checking but can you try and see if it works for you too?

This is an issue with Froyo. it doesn't happen with eclair. anyways i noticed it to. The only time it gets hot is when the phone is in the charger and i'm playing with the phone.

Atrix HD has been getting HOT lately

I've had this phone for nearly a year (8 gb AT&T version). It is completely stock running Android 4.1. Lately, the phone has been getting extremely hot with even low to moderate use, to the point of having to even stop using it for about 15 to 20 minutes to let it cool down. and the battery seems to be draining a lot quicker than it ever used to be (5 to 6 hours).
When looking at the battery stats, it says that "Android OS" is eating up most of the battery, which seems atypical to me; usually its the screen that eats up most of the battery.
So is there anything I can do to fix this? I know rooting and installing a custom rom would probably help the battery life, but because the device is still under warranty I don't even want to take the chance with it, because my contract expires in October and I don't want anything to happen to my phone in between then.
Like I said, the device is still under warranty so is overheating/lower battery life a plausible reason to get a replaced phone? Also, would I have to go through Motorola to do this or through AT&T? Any insight is greatly appreciated

Battery is a reason and I'm sure it overheating is also so if you do in fact have a warrant and don't want to run a custom rom I'd bring it to att.

I remember when I was on a road trip my HD got extremely heated to the point where the phone itself wouldn't let me do anything (error message saying the phone was overheated) Maybe you life in a hot place? That was my issue at the time. Excessive use?

I agree with echofiive. I've noticed the overheat warning when ambient temperature is very hot.
I'm not sure your condition would warrant a replacement though

I live in New Jersey, so its typical summer weather but I don't think the weather is the cause, it just gets really hot from normal use. I'll give an example, I was sitting in a car a couple days ago (not the driving) and was bored so I decided to play some candy crush. I played for maybe 5-7 minutes until the phone got too hot to even touch. I never got any error messages or anything but I had to put the phone down because it was too hot. I also checked that the battery went down about 5-6 percentage points, just for playing a simple game for 5-7 minutes; candy crush is not a very demanding game like some 3D games are. the same thing happens when i'm just using the phone on facebook/twitter/browser etc. for around 10 straight minutes, I end up having to put the phone down. I was never having this problem before which is why I am concerned and my warranty expires in less than a month so I want to try to get a replacement before the times is up.

Yes I use the stock charger with the stock cable. I occasionally charge on my computer, but thats only once in a while. And even though I haven't gotten a overheat warning yet, I'm sure if I used it for just a little longer than I usually do I could probably get it (and burn my fingers in the process). Wouldn't that warrant a replacement? The phone obviously isnt supposed to get that hot that fast, and the battery isnt supposed to drain that fast as well.

Hmm, the problem seems to be battery related then. Some sort of short between terminals?
I guess you could take it down to the store and explain the situation. They'd probably have to open it up to have a look. I have a feeling that by swapping a new battery it might get fixed.
And as for battery usage, my Android OS is also consuming more battery than the screen so that really isnt a valid indicator. Im not sure exactly how hot your phone is getting because a warning message should pop up on your display.
Let your phone completely discharge till it switches off. Then recharge till it hits 100%
Try this cycle atleast twice and then use it and see how it works out

Yeah I'll definitely try to do a few power cycles. I may be able to get bette battery life that way. Not sure if it will help with the heat but its worth a try. And I will probably still go to AT&T just because I still have warranty so I might as well give it a shot.
Maybe its just too hot for my general comfort, maybe thats normal for a dual core phone, it just seems hotter than usual. I do have a case (that I usually dont use) that I can put on to maybe make the phone not feel as hot while I use it.

S6 Active battery weird behavior

I got my S6 Active 2 days ago, it came with around 60% battery, which of course I burned to the ground messing with the phone. I left it charging overnight (first full charge) so yesterday morning it was at 100%. I used the phone for quite a bit during the day, didn't charge it at night so this morning it was at 40% when I woke up. So, summarizing, in around 24 hours the battery went down 60% with moderate use (around 4h 30m SOT).
The weird thing happened today. For some reason, the battery has been going down much faster. In around 5h, with pretty light use, it's gone down 27%, with around 40m SOT. I haven't installed anything new, changed any significant setting, anything...
Don't get me wrong, 5h SOT is pretty good, but I'm just curious if this is something that has happened to someone else, maybe a problem with my battery, or maybe I just need to give it more charging cycles? I've attached a couple screenshots of battery usage from before starting to charge it again, and another one while charging it for a bit because I forgot to include the usage of other apps. I can see how Google Play Services is second after Screen, very close, while yesterday I believe it wasn't as close... maybe that's the problem? I'm not sure why it would do that though, like I said I haven't changed or installed anything this morning...

Yeah I'm aware of the need to wait a few charging cycles, it's just that I've never seen a battery behave like that. I'm not really bothered by how long it lasted, it's more about how there was such a sudden drop in its charge for no apparent reason. Thanks for the reply though

I know Samsung claims the usb port is waterproof but I am telling you right now DONT get water in that port, itll **** it up..
I was naive and thought this was the best ever....until I got water in that hole... i made a thread about it.. its beyond ****ed up we should sue for false advertisement.

Perhaps you got a defective unit? I've had mine in the pool, taken underwater pics, etc. and have no issues. Although I did let it dry out for a couple of hours before plugging it in again.

but im a distance runner and in the heavy rain i never had a problem, i even dunked it in the sink and it worked.. ive had this phone a month and it was great up until yesterday...however..it seems to be fine now.

I have had mine in the ocean as well as the pool almost a dozen times and haven't had any issue as of yet. I use the Qi charger so I don't think drying is an issue at all.
If you plan on it regularly getting wet, it may be worth investing in a Qi charger.

I never use the USB cable. I always use a Qi charger never had trouble after being in rivers and rain. Using USB only scratches up the phones USB port anyway lol.

Some phones are great to take camping because if you play Asphalt 8 long enough, the back warms up to the ideal temperature that can bake bread. Rate this thread to express the extent to which the LG V20 stays cool under extended heavy use. What heat? The battery gets a little warm while charging. Once charged it reverts to room temperature.

i did a test. now the file got corrupted (because i used both, horizontal and vertical mode) so,, if i get to fix it i will upload it IT last about 3 hours playing 1440P videos, but the battery warmed upto about 41-42C. If the corrupted file doesnt fix, then im going to do a 1080p video and see how long it last.

Warm, similar to S7 Edge
I know Samsung is getting heat right now, but the LG did get warm when doing the initial download and setup. Not hot, just warm. During charging using AIDA64 I saw temperatures around 50c at times, and the battery temperature was up to 36c. This is similar to the temps on my S7 edge. I was not doing a fast charge, just using a regular wall charger with the included cable.

This phone is perfectly fine, and does NOT heat up any more than the average smartphone does. No need to worry about anything here...

I haven't noticed any heating at all, Even when setting up.

It only got slightly warm during set up, as it was downloading over 90 apps from my google account backup. I dont think we have to worry about heat with this one.

Mine got a little hot when gaming for a while but that's any cell phone.

Mine didn't hear heat up using lg backup surprisingly. Mine barely has any noticeable le temperature increase during charging. Haven't tested a heavy duty game yet. Done some heavy file transfers over wifi and screen mirroring. No heat.

Just got my v20 a week ago and this thing runs cold all the time. Im coming from a HTC 10 and it's quite nice. My HTC 10 would get hot enough while charging it or playing a intensive game it needed to be stuck in a case or it would almost burn me.

My V20 was running hot, over 102°f
I had 32% battery life when I pulled the battery and waited 2 mins before I turned phone back on. When I turned phone back on, I was at 18% battery life and it's still declining as I'm writing this. WTF???

Same here, had it since it first came out and never had any heat issues with it. I swear these manufactures release updates and cause our phones to start acting up wherever they release a new device. It started happening after the G6 was announced and I received an OTA update for bug fixes! Bug fixes my ass, they just want us to buy a new phone!

Actually I had this problem a week ago. I had an LG V10 before that did the same thing then a few days later fried. I had to return it for warranty repair then sold it. Fast forward to an LG V20, love it had it for a few months then suddenly it was draining battery fast and getting hotter then normal. I downloaded a few battery apps to help me trace the culprit but to no avail. Finally one day I just powered it off for about 2 hours and it has been back to normal since then.
Very strange and got me a bit worried about another chipset frying or another bootloop... lets hope not.:good:

Thanks, I'll try your method and hopefully it'll work for me as well. I had the same thing happen with my V10, and I loved that freaking phone, was built like a sexy tank. LoL
I hope my V20 doesn't start down same road of infinite bootloop, from which there's no return.?

Not much heat
I've had a v20 H990N for a little over a week, coming from a G3 (3 years without any issues until it died, i prefer to keep phones as long as they work). I have played asphalt extreme for at least an hour straight a few times on wi-fi, with the screen between 60-70% brightness and have not experienced anything except minor warming.

Need to follow your update cycle, getting phones and keeping it until they stop working. I have so many phones that I've collected, I used to switch out just for sake of changing phone shape etc.
I'm on v20 and intend to use it until it dies.
