Screen orientation landscape back to portrait not working - Galaxy S Advance I9070 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My galaxy advance NFC version no longer goes back to portrait after going to landscape mode even after calibration and tilting it the other way makes it swing to the opposite landscape mode. It only goes to portrait when back to home screen. The phone is rooted and Corecore 9.8 and i had recently installed CM10.2 but did not like it and went back to 4.1.2 I9070PXXLPE and i suspect thats when the problem started. I have wiped caches factory reset and re installed several times with no success. Help guys

I don't remember if in CM10.2 exist some Screen Calibration, but in JB 4.1.2 don't exist for sure. Try with CM10.2 and if not, you must downgrade to GB and do from there a caqlibration.
I have that issue in 4.1.2 and downgraded to GB, after that all is fine.
Good luck.

Oh I will have to go GB? I have to check out how it's done. I got mine with JB out of box

I'm afraid you must downgrade to do that, but first try with CM10.2 and see if you can do that, i don't remember.
For downgrade use this guide EXACTLY: [ Solved ] How to Downgrade JB 4.1.2 to GB 2.3.6

[Q] Back & Menu Keys don't work anymore

Hello Forum!
I have a nasty problem. I installed CM7 on my girlfriend's Galaxy Mini, but for any reason, the menu and back key's don't work anymore. They don't even turn on (I'm talking about the light). Without those, the phone is practically unable to use. I tryied to flash stock, chocobread and cm9 without any luck. Several factory resets, wipes and everything, but any luck.
Can you guys please advice?
Thanks in advance!

I think u r on the wrong forum...galaxy mini has no backlight for buttons...check the model no. in settings if u hav a doubt..
OK! My mistake. As I said, it's my girlfriend's phone, not my. I have a SGII, that's why I was thinking about the light in the buttons. She just confirm me that they don't light up.
Anyway, they don't work! First, I tryied CM7.2 RC5.7, later, CM7.2 RC1, later Chocobread 3.0.1, finally Stock on 2.3.4 & 2.3.6... nothing!
Yes, I did wipes (factory/cache/dalvik) between all the changes...
Please, help!
wow weird problem....
if you have tried everything and it doesn't work, I suggest you to go to the service center, maybe it causes by hardware problem
The problem is that they were working before!
As soon as I flashed for the first time, they suddenly dead. First, I thought that was a CM7 problem, because the phone was working right but I wanted to flash to have more options. But then, I changed to Chocobread, but nothing, finally to stock, without any luck either...
Try update through KIES?

Flash a firmware which has four files not a one package firmware !
If still it does not works then Care is the answer
It simply is hard problem. Maybe 2 button have been broken!
Please flash stock ROM, then unroot and bring it to samsung center to make them fix it or change a new phone for free ^^

[Q] stuck on samsung logo whenever phone goes flat or battery pulled out

Hi
I just noticed that my n7000 gets stuck on the logo every time it goes flat or the battery is pulled out...sometimes a lil bump and the phone turns off (must be loose battery) but every time I turn it on again it gets stuck on the logo...I've flashed the latest official 4.1.2 rom (rooted) from following the instructions from rootgalaxynote.com. I've been getting out of the "stuck on logo mode" by reflashing the rom but it gets annoying having to do it each time my note is either flat, battery pulled out, or phone bumped...tired of reinstalling the apps over and over...
is there a fix for this?
Thanks to anyone who can help me

Try install the latest Philz kernel (with bootloop fix 2); it seems to work for me (2 days without bootloops now!). Besides, it's super fast too!

[Q] Another "Am I bricked?:

Hey guy's Im hoping you can help me.
Last night while browsing my phone froze, so i performed a battery pull and on putting it back in the phone refuses to boot.
If i plug thr charger in alone, the LED's blink orange/green
If i place a battery in the charging light turns on. I have two batteries so I tried them both. Still nothing.
I was able to boot into recovery and tried to clear the clash and do a full reset. upon reboot the phone stuck on the boot screen.
I tried a battery pull once again, and since that I have only been able to get the phone to boot once after numerous tries only to get 7 vibrations.
The power button still works, if i try turning it on while on charge the orange light goes out, but nothing.
Ive tried the battery trick while on the charger alone the green light goes on but again nothing, I've tried different chargers, I'm now at a loss.
While typing this IVe been able to get it to boot once again, but again i get 7 vibrations and nothing.
Any help would be appreciated, I have no phone, while my GNEX is being repaired under warranty
A noob question... you said that you do a full reset... Did you flash the rom again? (give more details.. rooted phone...hboot.. rom...)

full reset as in going into recovery and wiping everything, unfortunately, I have note been able to get back in since to try and reflash a new rom.
I'm currently running a stock hboot, with the last stable release of MIUI before MIUI4 cant remember the exact version number. The phone is rooted and locked.
Thanks for the swift response

Why don't you copy the miui zip onto your SD card, and flash it back from recovery? If you are running GB MIUI, the last version for that would be 2.3.30.

Agreed, I've preped my SDcard with a Passimg.zip. however I'm at a point where I cant get the phone to turn on constantly. since posting this morning. I've had no success - c'est la vie. I'm reluctantly thinking of moving on, however I really loved my N1 believe it or not it was much more reliable than my GNEX which is in under warranty repair for the 3rd time already!

[Q] Screen not turning on after locking... PLEASE HELP

Hello,
I've gotten into customizing my phone and it seemed this place was the best. However I've run into a problem. My phone boots fine and the screen comes on but after I lock it the screen doesn't come back on, only the LED's. I have recently removed tweakbox because I liked the CRT screen off/on effect. The reason I uninstalled it was because I thought it might be contributing to the problem.
I also had Widget locker and enabled the 'disable stock locker'. I soon uninstalled this when the problem occured. I then did a system restore from Titanium backup but this only restored apps and the home screen so I no longer have my customized stuff (sad face).
Is there any way I can force an android update to restore the faulty files?
I'm running Android 4.0.3
Kernel version: 2.6.39.4
Build number:IML74K
Software version: LG-P880-V10h-NOV-19-2012
Try to factory reset but backup your all data on it

I had the same error as you are now because I replaced lg framework or something. Tried anything but to no avail and had to factory reset the phone using the stock recovery.

Try installing custom ROM,and no Wi-Fi,you mean cannot connect? Can find the connection?

No, wifi wouldn't even turn on - the toggle wouldn't move from the 'Off' position.
I did some digging and although it doesn't seem to have happened with the XZ, it's a regular issue with unlocking bootloaders and is caused by a problem with the kernel.
So, I decided if I was going to have to flash a different kernel I may as well go the whole hog.
Downloaded the RC4 build of CM10.1 and flashed it - and everything's working properly now
