[Q]Help please. XT883 on XT862 not working - Motorola Droid 3

Hello Guys. I really appreciate your help and dedication.
I spent a lot of time tryng fix my XT862. When I bought it, was working with Att. When I didn't have access to MY Contacts I install a new ROM but I can't make to work again.
The phone is unlock and rooted, v.5.7.906.xt863. the Baseband is N_03.18.29P but if I flash to "radio883", I get Baseband unknow .
I changed the build.prop 1 to 0 and 7 to 3.
Maybe my xt883 radio is not the correct one? Please help. Thanks

Try again from the start, but if the problem continues, check your version

I rooted with Motofail. The "Root Checker Advanced" show that the Droid is Rooted.
I tried again PetesMotorolaRootTools_v1.09 and I get the some massage from the top.
Is the Droid Rooted? I don't think so because I can't uninstall system apps. What I have do to please. thanks

Need original, stock firmware for Motorola RAZR i (XT890)

I would preferably need the firmware called '81.5.31002.XT890.Orange.en.GB'. I've googled for it, and found an EU one which was unlocked, but it was rooted, and not locked to a certain network.
Two questions:
Any idea where I can find it (stock system, stock kernel, unrooted)?
If impossible, if I flash the original firmware - unrooted firmware, stock kernel, stock system - and manage, thusly, to lock the bootloader, will it be made under warranty?

Hi
I think I have the same question as the OP. My Razr i is a UK T Mobile - System version is 81.5.31002.xt890.orange.en.gb - so will the firmware linked to above be the one I need? It would appear so. On another thread, dog121 has stated that this firmware is open to the non-unlocked bootloader root. So, if I do this and it all goes pear shaped, I have a way back? Is that the correct understanding?
It was so much easier on my old Defy!

There's an France, too but i'm not sure if it's branded. Just make sure you use an 39 Fastboot, because all other EU Files are have an lower secure Level (That's why the 32 fails). You only can downgrade with an unlocked BL.

It will.
If you had asked before, it had been enough to flash only the boot.img of the FW you where running before you tried to root. But once you have messed around with RSD this is the easiest solution.
What was your FW? You can still try to fastboot the gbt.bin and boot.img from that one, instead of flashing an whole FW.

Firmware. You where on 40002 EU before you tried to root?

I usually do to avoid potential issue with custom roms and enjoy the benefits of any bugfixes and battery savings of the new baseband.

Seems to be flashing fine. Corrupt download? I don't believe you have to be on a 4.4.1 rom to flash the bootloader.
Ever since updating to 4.4.1 I've had full bars for network signal strength, but terrible speeds. Tried re-flashing the radio only. No improvement seen. Is there a way to roll back the radio only, or re-flash the old radio (via TWRP)?
Had someone flashed the bootloader on D820?

if motofail_windows.zip has failed, it's because you missed a step.
1. download motofail_windows.zip
2. extract files
3. verify you downloaded and extracted all the files
a. motofail_windows folder should be 3.78mb
b. make sure you have a file named motofail that is 489 KB (may show as 490), if it is missing disable virus protection and redownload motofail
4. install moto drivers
5. Make sure your device is in USB debugging mode , attach it to your PC
6. change usb mode to charge only or pc mode
7. run run.bat in motofail_windows folder
8. follow on screen directions
I'll do it now.
Btw, what's ur opinion on the best recent rom for this phone?
Stability and speed are my major priorities.
my daily rom is Steel Droid: 5.6
but minmoto is more popular
For some reason steel droid rom wouldn't connect to gsm network.
So I've instalaed Avatar 4.2.2 and I'm really satisfied with it.
Thxfor ur help!

Thanks, I noticed AP is .tar while the rest 3 files are .md5, do I need to change the extension of any file(s) before flashing these in Odin?

What version of Odin do you recommend? I've been waiting for this - have been running the G935U ROM since it was made available - will be happy to get some of my AT&T functions back .

You had SM-g935a (att phone) but flashed the unlocked firmware before you flashed this?
Will it work for me? I have sm-g935a but I flashed the unlocked firmware to remove bloatware. Can I just flash this over the unlocked to get me back to att 8.0?

This little morsel of information should probably get added to the OP. I was in the same boat having flashed from 935A to 935U on Odin 3.12.7 (as was recommended for that process) and then tried to use the same version to go from 935U to 935A (Oreo). When that process failed, I went deeper into the thread and found this. Pulled a copy and it worked like a champ, but if we could add this info to the top post, it would be helpful.

Correct, assuming you're using the version of Odin above
