Hi everyone! I'm new here, and forgive me if this is a repost, but I had rooted my HTC one M7 to Cyanogenmod using the CM installer and loved it but I'm wanting to go ahead and get it back to stock to get Sense 6 when HTC puts out their official ROM. Anyway, I ran through fastboot and relocked the bootloader which it shows and I flashed using HTC's RUU file. I'm on version 4.3 with 5.0 currently and am trying to update to 4.4.2 with sense 5.5 but everytime I go to settings then AT&T Software update it says the system is up to date. I've tried clearing the services framework and I still can't get it to update. I'm not sure where else to go. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi;
I have rooted my HTC one GPE (from google) phone and installed clockworkmod recovery.
The day after i received a system update from Google for KitKat but couldn't install it; it failed updating.
How can i get the update again?
i tried manually downloading the KitKat from HTC site for my phone and install it as "Install from a zip" but it didn't work, claiming that i download m7 version while my phone is m7ul phone.
Any help? should i really be going through all the S-OFF stuff before?
Appreciate any links or help
Rami
if you flash the stock recovery image back to the device you should be able to re-check for the OTA and apply it - you can also search for the OTA.zip and then from clockwork you can try to sideload it.
sideloading didn't work
as i mentioned at my original post; installing the OTA.zip didn't work!
I have that same question lol, I cannot flash anything other than 4.2 from CWM. I have the new radio version it seems too. 4.4 finally loaded fine from OTA but it bootloops at welcome screen
I'll let you know if I find anything
You need to do a full conversion to GPE 4.3/4.4, and NOT while you are S-ON.. You will most likely run into issues!

Are u saying that i need to go S-OFF first?
Do u recommend using RUMRUNNER for HTC One GPE device for such task? it didn't work for me
Thanks
Rami
I just rooted my HTC One last week and yesterday I got notified of an update for my AT&T HTC One. Tried to install the update but failed. Do I need to unroot my phone before I can install the update? Do I even need that update? Should I just install a custom rom forget about the update form AT&T?

If the new update is Sense 6.0, my suggestion is you should accept the update. It's a huge leap forward from Sense 5.5. For achieving OTA, you need to be complete stock. You can return to stock by flashing RUU (exe or zip).
My friend has HTC One M7 802w [China Unicom]. He was fed up of the chinese apps and lack of play services, so I unlocked the Bootloader, installed custom recovery and ran a bloat removal script and cleaned his phone. Then I used 'GMS' app and installed Google services. All was fine till a few days ago.
He received the Android 5.0 update and it's not able to install it. So I read up stuff online and figured that maybe the stock recovery will do the trick. Sadly it didn't.
I found the RUU for the Android 4.4.2 version and OTA for 4.4.3 version on xda. But since my device is not S-OFF, apparently I cannot flash older android versions. I tried Hboot and fastboot method but they both failed. I tried different versions, still the same.
I looked everywhere and only sunshine can S-off my device for a cost, but I'm NOT interested in all this. I just need to restore everything to stock, get the latest OTA and leave my friend happy with his phone.
Help will be greatly appreciated. I just wasted 5 hours trying everything. Please help me.
Hey All,
I don't even know if this is at all possible, but I need to restore my HTC One M8 (Sprint) to factory (unrooted with stock Sprint software). I'm currently on 5.0.1 and keep getting a message that there's an update. When I download it, it will not install. It reboots into recovery,
attempts to install, and then fails because of a bad fingerprint.
Details:
- Rooted
- Unlocked
- S-ON
- 5.0.1 ported GPE
Any help at all would be appreciated. If nothing else, I'd just like the damn notification to go away since I can't actually update it.

You need to have stock recovery and a stock rom for it to work.
Try if you can get the Nandroid backed up file

OTA updates must be installed incrementally (you can't skip a version).
Flashing an OTA update manually also requires S-OFF, otherwise it must be done normally from Settings --> About --> Software info --> Check for updates.
If you are not using an AT&T sim card, you will not receive any OTA updates and you should either achieve s-off to flash the ota update manually or convert to another version that will not require an at&t sim card.
If you don't want s-off then you can update your phone using the latest at&t RUU.
hey thanks for replying ....so what do you suggest pleaseeee
