I hate it when people create a new thread for an existing topic. I think it makes it difficult for people to find useful information because it gets scattered amongst the different threads. It only happens when someone fails to search first or when they feel that their opinion is so important that they deserve to have their own thread. The mods should move the few useful posts to the existing thread and remove this one altogether.

I completely agree. However, you should get use to it, because it will happen more and more. A popular phone means it's going to be popular with the lazy and ignorant as well. The only thing to do is use the "report" button to notify the mods.
I've been a member for several years. I'm used to it, but it seems to be happening a little more often now. I know that the mods have a lot of ground to cover. I'm usually reading through Tapatalk, and I haven't seen an option to report.

for some reason, on more than one rom, I can't view pages of threads which contain voting polls.
Best example is the MIUI 2.3 rom in the development section, if I try to open page 1 it just sits at processing, any thread with a vote poll on it does that.

+1 search on xda app is 110% useless
The search is practically non existant, mt biggest gripe is the no way to thank people, get thanked or even f'ing see how many times a person had been thanked.
Having the same problem. Happens on a lot of threads for me. The MIUI thread is a repeatable bug every time I hit double arrow to get to the OP. Tried to uninstall / reinstall but it didn't help any.
Will the moderators forward this on? Is there even a way to post / track bugs on XDA?

That's the ironic thing - in certain company, I do! I have a filthier mouth than Deb Morgan (if you don't know who she is, search youtube for deb morgan filthy mouth). It's just not appropriate if you don't know the company, and when there's a potential 300,000 people reading what you write I think it's best to assume it may offend and not do it.
I find that if you only swear when it's really called for, then people actually take notice, compared with someone who f's and blinds every other word.
For instance, when I've worked on a support desk and something major goes wrong, if I swear people look up, take notice, offer their support and the problem gets resolved quicker, where as one of my colleagues who'd always be swearing would just get ignored.
Idk,I really don't find swearing something offensive and especially if its not pointed to anyone...

Me neither. As far as I see it, they're just words like "broken" and "bad". It's just consideration for others that are offended that I think needs to be remembered. Besides, it's in the rules so this isn't the place for it.

Which begs the question "why bother swearing?"
If they're just words to you, then they don't add anything.
They're an important part of the English language, their purpose is to impose a shock on others, even if it's just a small one. If they lose that then there is no point in using them.
Compare these sentences:
"He had an open wound on his leg"
"He had an oozing open wound on his leg"
The second one paints a much grimmer image simply by adding a word.
It brings different images to mind.

Oh I know grouper developing will continue. Sorry I'm not good at expressing myself in forums and threads as I tend to trail off. Its a fact that there are some ROMs and kernels that have been,well -abandoned- for lack of a better word. I'm just trying to thank those devs that have moved on for whatever reason. I had the first kindle fire and was actually surprised to see people dev.ing for Otter. Guess I need to brush up on my online communication skills. I've miscommunicated my point on more than one occasion lately. Think I'll stick to just downloading and let everyone else do the talking.

It happens. A major difference between some of them is the Base it's created from. Every dev brings his/her own flavor. Most of them are debloated, which is what mostly separates them from Stock. Some are themed more than others. The only way I can think of to view the Feature sets side-by-side is to view them on a pc in separate windows. Just see what appeals to you, read up, look at screenshots and try a couple out. It's really the best way.

Right. Everyone has their own opinion of what a ROM should be. That's why I just recommend fishing around until you find a ROM or developer that's more in line with your personal tastes. I've found that I'm a KNOXRAID guy. Some people prefer XNote. To each, his own.
