Hi, so my problem is that when I was with my rooted phone and tried to update to .201 firmware with pc companion, I couldn't because it was saying failure with the update motor and then my phone suddenly turns off. Later I discovered that I should relock my bootloader first but then when I relock him using flashtool my phone gets stuck in Sony logo.
If I try to root after updating I get a message saying "Device must be root first" when I'm unlocking bootloader to unlock root right after.I'm ****ing annoyed, I'm the whole day trying to make this work and I don't know what to do anymore, so please help!
(I'm a noob so please easy guide, and sorry about bad english)

If you have unlocked bootloader first and flashed a custom kernel and Relocked afterwards, you could get a bootlloop. You may want to repair with SEUS. I've heard ppl saying xsp isn't in its list, but I use the Dutch one, which has the xsp listed

How did you fix it! I'm experiencing the same problem as you!
I don't really remember, but I guess I reinstalled an old firmware then updated to the latest version (without root) and then I rooted, btw this video down here helped me a lot (it's the best I found, and I've searched for many videos).Tell me if I solved your problem, if not I'll keep trying to help u because I know how annoying it is.

nothing?
I think your boot loader just got corrupted. Take your phone to a tecnical assistant. Your carrier won't do anything for you since you've an unlocked bootloader.
It will be just a waste of time.
I have the same "Service Required Code Corrupt" error after I tried to restore from a Nandroid Backup...
ohhh...
that sucks!!
Solution please
I have no

yes please
Me too, successfully downgraded JB to ICS, all was ok, made nandroid backup and boom.
hi. I read somewhere here about rooting using doomlord's method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2440375). my questions are:
1. will this method work for stock Xperia SP? Literally just out of the box, everything stock. running JB 4.1.2 v.254.
2. what are the chances of bricking my phone? i really want to root mine because i want custom ROMs on it but im really nervous because its my only phone, and this will be the first time ill do it.
thanks in advance. appreciate all your replies
1.-Yes, thats the method for .254: You need to flash .257 kernel first.
2.-Sony phones can't get "bricked"...99% of the times they only get a boot loop, which means your SP wont get past the Sony-Xperia logo. In this scenario you need to repair via Flashtool or Update Service. Flashtool is more effective for "bricked" phones.

I have done it 8 times, with no problems at all. At first one I have only offline charging bug, but when I repair software with PC Companion, than make root with this method again that solve the problem with offline charging.
But only root? When U first read than do - its unable to brick your phone.

First of all connect your phone in flashtool, select Devices -> Chek Drivers and check if you have ABD driver installed.
Have you enable USB Debugging? Phone have to be also connected in MSC mode.
And at last. Have you turn off Flashtool before running script??
So on. More questions ask better in "ROOTing" thread. Or at first read this thread from start to the end before aksing quiestions. Theres a lot of answers.

I've got a more or less big problem. My Xperia SP cannot recognize, that my SIM-card is inserted. If I turn it on it doesn't ask for the PIN and furthermore I can't receive or send SMS's, I can't receive calls or call somebody and I haven't got mobile data. I tried to insert my SIM-card in another sony phone and it didn't work. I also put another working SIM-card in my phone and it also couldn't recognize it. I think (I'm actually sure) it's caused by the non-functional phone apk, but maybe also the SIM-card is broken.
What shall I do? I have a TWRP backup, but I'm not 100% sure, whether it is from before or after. What is a less- or non-risky possibility to replace the phone.apkor is there a better method to repair the phone?
edit: I found out, if my phone is turned on and I remove the SIM-card, it realizes it, and reboots.
Please help me!
???
Sorry, but why is my post ticked with a hook??? The problem isn't solved yet!

First of All thanks for your reply. But I already took another SIM-card (which on Xperia L works fine) and put it into my device but there were the same problems. Yesterday I downloaded the SemcPhone.apk file, pushed it to /system/app and changed permissions to rw-r--r-- and rebooted. Then it asked for the PIN but after unlocking I got a bunch of Force closes and they didn't stop.. Even after rebooting again I had the problem, so I deleted the apk file again. But it's now the same like I described there above :/
Reflash ROM.. You have phone.apk problems aswell so this should fix it
Okay.. And the stock ROM, is this the "Deodexed stock ROM" (777MB) from android development or the "normal" stock ROM (odexed) (12.0.A.2.245) also from android development section?
No, to prevent any issues just open Sony Update Service (can be downloaded from the Sony website) and "restore" your phone..
So go back to full stock
Okay cool thank you I'll try it

The last version of Sony Update Service misses the XSP.
I have contacted Sony Mobile to point this out. Untill we recieve a new update you need to use the PC Companion to restore your phone or you need to use Flashtool

Okay, then I'll do that
:/
I tried it with PC Companion but when it had to start repairing and it booted the phone into flashmode (I think so, because the LED was green) and then PC Companion said: "The phone contains modified software, which cannot be updated" and below "Error 2003" ..
I tried it 2 times and both the same :/
My phone has unlocked bootloader, is rooted, and has the DoomKernel, no custom rom.

Well that is unfortunate. You need to relock bootloader and reflash with flashtool.
You cannot use Sony software with unlocked bootloader
Sent from my C5303 using Tapatalk
Oh! That's actually bad. But then I first have to flash back the stock kernel, then relock bootloader, repair with PC Companion and eventually unlock Bootloader again if necessary for me, right? Just for being sure.
Yes correct you need stock kernel then lock bootloader, then re flash/repair phone
Sent from my C5303 using Tapatalk
Ok good. Now the last question: from where can I get the right stock kernel? I found a post from DoomLoRD, where he wrote, that you have to flash stock kernel.sin and no FTF kernel but I couldn't find a stock kernel.sin and in another post from alivanov79, alivanov79 posted a link to an FTF kernel. So Do you know which one is the right one?

Hello! I hope you're still alive!
I am facing the same problem, but before I start doing stuff, may I know if your problem has been solved?
My Xperia SP as well on occassion doesn't detected sim card. Sometimes when I need to make phone calls the most, it starts to do it. I am planning to send it for warranty, as I am having another 20 days before the warranty expires.
Surprisingly, many Sony Xperia models users have experience of having a phone that doesn't read SIM cards. Google reveals it all.

Hey,
yeah, I'm still alive
So, the thing is, my problem there had been caused by myself, fiddling around with some root stuff, so it hadn't been my phone's fault.
But what I did is I just flashed another ROM because I didn't see another solution and it really drove me crazy not being able to use the SIM card related functions.
Well, keeping your post in mind I don't think you'd like to flash another ROM (I probably shouldn't have done that, too).
So if you didn't already try to repair your phone with PC Companion, that'd be the first thing, I'd do in your case.
Otherwise I'd send it for warranty as you considered it already.
Yeah, my sister's Xperia L also has that problem and that's really unfortunate.
So I hope, my "advide" could help at least a bit although there may not be plenty of hints, but yeah.
If I shocked you with that essay I'm sorry, too

Lol I don't think ROM flashing is the root problem, as I have been using CM11 for a month (and maybe more). The problem starts appearing lately..
I will flash stock ROM and relock bootloader and then reflash stock via PCC to see if it will fix the problem
Anyway thanks for the reply!
No, that's not even something to be called "essay"....

Today I unlocked my bootloader of xt1068, and flashed stock 4.4 firmware without re locking the bootloader. everything worked fine until 5.0 update came up and I agreed to it. The last thing I saw it was installing update. But when I checked after a few minutes later, the screen was black, wont go into fastboot/recovery PC only recognizes it as qhsusb_bulk.
I am requesting your HELP to fix this, Please help me :crying:
