These are the only ones I know of that work on the 24A baseband.
CM11 which still does get updated from time to time - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2702958
CarbonRom Beta, use the betas that bigshotrob22 has been posting, not the nightlies - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52443336&postcount=487
Mahdi - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2590700
Beanstalk - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2686460
I've been on the third beta for Carbon since it's been released, been solid for me.
Just to be sure there all based on the 24A ota? Thanks for the quick reply!

I know 100% the first two are. I hear Mahdi is and Beanstalk states it is in it's OP.
Are the 24a ASOP roms, mostly stable now? Meaning no SODs or random reboots?

Using the 24A drivers/kernel source has eliminated SODs. I have yet to have a reboot running Carbon based on 24A.

Im running the C-ROM (i could not get carbon rom to install- kept doing boot loops)...
The rom is great, has a lot of features, but does not seem to want to stay on LTE very much... it's very flaky... I switch back and forth between the nexus 5 running Slim Kat, and the LG g2 running C-Rom, and the LG g2 will stay on HSPA+, and the Nexus 5 will stay on LTE...
Any reasons for this? both have the same APN (fast.t-mobile.com)...

Yep, stick to the betas bigshotrob22 is posting, my sig is to the latest. Hopefully someday the nightlies will get moved to 24A.
Yes all of those roms are 24a and there are no more SODs. Proximity is stil a little wonky but not as bad as before.

Hi guys
I just got my Verizon G2 2days ago and was able to root but all the threads that I find are confusing. I need a custom recovery to start flashing ROMS but don't know what to install. I have searched. How can I install TWRP 2.7.0.0?
Thanks

Other question how do I know if I have a full 24A bootstack already. I got the phone 3 days ago. I installed the 4.4.2 update (2 updates) and then I rooted and installed the last recovery. I am ready for flashing but I don't know if I have 24A bootstack. Can anybody clarify? I am new to LG world coming from the Galaxy S4, S5 and then HTC One M8. I am liking better the LG G2.
Thanks
Mario
If you took the OTA to 4.4.2 you're on the 24A bootstack. You're all set. When you start flashing ROMs be sure they are for 24A before you flash. If they're not they won't boot without the 12B radios.
Great! I can't wait to start flashing. Thanks! Any recommendations on ROMs?. I like stock look but is a little slow. I guess if I have the same system just faster I would be happy.
Thanks again. Enjoying my new forum and phone so far.
Best
Mario
For 24A we have the stock based ROMs. Like Malladus, Cloudy and a few others. AOSP for 24A is currently Carbon, there's a CM11 build for 24A in the VZW development section. C-Rom, Resurrection Remix and Mahdi. Which I highly recommend, so much closer to AOSP than CM and the others as dr87 pulls in stuff from the N5 to make our G2 as awesome as possible. Personally its my favorite. I'd keep an eye on the thread and wait til the next build for that one though. Should be coming soon.

Good info to start. I have work to do now. Will be around for a while. Thanks!! :good:
Currently using the 3/1 CM 11 build, and since it's not really being updated and there were so many issues with it, i'm trying to see if it's possible to get a completely AOSP very stable build on the G2. I'm talking google boot animation and the whole 9. Any suggestions would be nice. Kinda getting annoyed with random reboots, especially while i'm on the phone, along with the screen coming on during phone calls. Thanks in advance!

I'm not aware of any that are going to be completely AOSP with no tweaks. C-ROM, CarbonROM, and Mahdi, come to mind for light-weight AOSP, but even they have built-in tweaks.

light tweaking is ok, as long as there's no major color changes or anything. i do like being able to have an NFC toggle in the quick settings
vanir is good
You can try JackpotClavin's CM11 builds for the 24A OTA release. I haven't had a single crash since I switched to his build.
Vanir is beyond stable, and is 4.4.3.
Mahdi is based on n5

You need to stop using AOSP roms built on the JB source if you want to get away from the SOD's. Update your bootstack following the steps in JackPotClavin's CM11 based on 24A thread and you're free to install any of the AOSP roms built on top of 24A.

There are many 24a based roms that run perfect:
Vanir, Beanstalk, carbonrom, crom, and gummyrom just to name a few.
thanks for the input everyone. i think i'm gonna try updating the bootstack and trying out either mahdi or vanir after work. just looking for the closest ROM to a nexus 5

July 24: this is my build with Dorimanx kernel compiled with Linaro 4.9 arm-eabi and the rest compiled with Linaro 4.9 arm-linux-eabi. In short, all facets of this ROM are compiled with Linaro 4.9.

So far the JC build is great. I forget how much I miss AOSP. I'm loving the hover and having Halo again. I installed V4A and the volume is great.
After running for awhile, I wasn't able to get the ROM to sleep at all. Wakelock detector really didn't show anything and neither did better battery stats.

I can confirm on the dorimanx build, that the same thing is keeping it from sleeping as well.

Do core 3 and 4 not respond to any changes in CPU frequency governors? The best way to test would be to try and change the governor from conservative to performance. What should happen is that core 3 and 4 should be going full blast on the performance governor but not the conservative governor.
Thanks!

New builds!
Alright everyone, I've posted new builds for the vs980 with the Dorimanx and the Render kernels. I haven't had a chance to test these out yet, my phone is getting back from warranty replacement.
Also, you'll notice there are d800 builds present. I'm not going to start a thread in the LG G2 AT&T forums because AOSB officially supports d800. However, please feel free to use these. I haven't yet tested out the d800 builds either.
EDIT: I haven't seen any changes on the Beanstalk github page, so I'm going to focus my efforts on compiling AOSB for now.

this here.
But if you want my opinion it's stock rom.
Rapture rom for me
Stock, though not a rom, is the most stable.
Stability depends on the user phone as well as what the user does with it. Rapture works great on my phone but I have seen complaints of instability. Firekat also work great on my phone, as well as dynamic and all the ports. Yet, I have seen complaints of instability. Now the AOSP based roms are truly unstable because they are in the testing, beta phase considering they are not a native build for our Touchwiz based samsung device. Not every device is made the same so flash and see which loves your phone the best.
Hope that helps.
good news everybody Official AICP nightlies are here

Rapture ran the smoothest for me and would be my go to but I ran into signal issues for some reason. Firekat and infamous I run right now and haven't had any issues yet.
Fire Kat V8 for sure.
Be sure to follow instructions to enhance battery life too and you should be getting about 8 hours of screen time.

I see in the fire Kat OP It seems to be a little confusing as to how to install. Is there a base ROM that flashes before V8?
Mega recommends a clean flash.
Basically just wiping cache, Dalvick, and data in the team win recovery.
But you can flash firekat over anj or ank.
I finally flashed the whole ank update. Bootloader and all.
That's what I flashed firekat v8 on top of:
The additional tweaks in the op2 are tight, and increase battery life a lot, but installing firekat is just like installing any other rom.

AICP is based off of AOSP, all the custom roms that are not TouchWiz are AOSP based roms even CM. AICP (Android Ice Cold Project) is a custom rom with a lot of customization options they are not all added as of yet but they certainly are being added gradually.
Definitely stock

They are all stable for the people using them. Some minor bugs might be there, but might not be noticed by others. So by asking this you will get a list of all the popular ROMs. You need to make a backup, read the development threads to find one that has all the features YOU want and try it. If you find a bug, search that thread to see if a fix or workaraound was posted. You will find much more self satisfaction and knowledge in this path of discovery.
So I have noticed in the last two days or so that some official nightlies for CM12, anyone try this yet? Anyone have any good instructions to follow for someone using cm11?
