Okay i have ****ed up my kindle pretty badly. After successfully rooting my kindle fire hd & 7" (2013 version), i decided to try to install google play on it to replace the amazon appstore. Anyway i downloaded a group of files and ran them while my kindle was in fastboot mode, but the google app store did not install, and now the amazon appstore will not download any apps. Has anyone encountered this problem before, if so, how did you fix it? Also if anyone has successfully installed the google appstore please give me a link to the files if you can. I'm not actually that sure of what to do with the files so any basic instructions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Has anyone posted a guide on how to run Sky Go on the Kindle Fire HD? I have rooted and installed Google Play Store but I believe I need to make some change to trick the app into thinking its not a Kindle?
Any help appreciated.
Hi all,
I've rooted my Kindle Fire 7" HD but I'm unable to install any apps via the Google Play Store. SuperSU has been install successfully & I've also upgraded it to v1.3. Root Checker Basic confirms that I do indeed have root permissions. I followed the tutorials posted by @prokennexusa & the app loads up fine. But when I attempt to install anything, the Play store closes. When I attempt to reopen it, it will close straight away. I have to clear the app's data before I can load it up again.
I had done this previously on a different Kindle & all was fine so it's probably me missing a step. Anyone got any ideas on what that missing step might have been? I'm running v4.1.10 of the Play Store. Is this the latest?
Cheers for any tips you can give me,
Lee
Make sure you're using the right GAPPS for your OS. I recommend flashing Kinology ROM, as it includes GAPPS and SuperSU. It's just stock with extra features, so it works really well.

I have a Kindle Fire HD rooted with Kinology. All Google apps have downloaded just fine, except for Google Search. I get a "Parse Error--There is a problem parsing the package" message. What I've tried to fix it so far: 1) downloaded 1Market and tried to load Google Search. 2) Cleared cache and data from both 1Market and Play Store, then shut down and restarted my KFHD. Tried to download & install from both stores. 3) Attempted to sideload Google Search from my Droid Razr Maxx via my PC. Nothing has worked. I've seen other threads for other tablets where one of these "fixes" did the trick. Not this time. Is it something about Kinology? And if it is about Kinology, is there something simple I can do? I rooted my 1st gen Kindle Fire myself (With KF Utility which made it a breeze), but bought this KFHD already rooted and don't know much about Kinology, so if there's an answer, I'd really appreciate step-by-step instructions.

usually when it says it cant parse it it's because its designed to work with a newer version of android than the device is running.
Hi
i have the above and wonted to install the google play store using Amazon-Fire-5th-Gen-Install-Play-Store ? all went well i rebooted no problem all apps working as they should
however once at the google play store no apps will download you just get an error so in reality this Amazon-Fire-5th-Gen-Install-Play-Store batch file either does not work or i have made a error at some point ? or probably the best solution is to get rid of this kindle fire HD 7 and get a proper android tablet ?
thank you in advance for any help here
found this old kindle recently, Kindle Fire HD 7 2nd Gen, and i remember I had previously done some work with rooting and flashing but I'm not sure what I had done with it. I cant access the bootloader via buttons on startup so I may have broken something but it boots up and can browse the web and download apps from the amazon app store. I seem to have attemted to get the play store but either failed or it stopped working over time.
whats the best way to move forward with updating it? can I just flash a new rom?
