Hi guys,
could you please provide me a required steps I need to complete before selling a brand new Galaxy Note 3 (I've got with 2 years contract extention) on ebay/Amazon?
As far as I understand, I should register device with AT&T first, right?
Second, I should check model/firmware number to check ability get a sim-unlock (I understand, I do have a very low chances).
If you have an experience, could you please share?
Thanks a lot!

So I'm looking at getting the International version of this phone as well but I have absolutely no knowledge about the Note 3 one specifically. I can't find on samsung.com anything about it. Can somebody direct me to a spec list or tell me a little bit about which one I need and will it have LTE support? Thanks a ton!
British person needing help buying T-Mobile Note 5
Hi I am on holiday in Michigan and I really want to pick up the Note 5 while I'm over here.
I have researched and found out that I need a T-mobile Note 5 as this has LTE band 20 and an unlocked bootloader.
I have tried to buy the phone from a T-mobile store but was unable to as they had no stock and was advised to phone or order it online but I am unable to do so as I need to answer questions about living here and having a US bank account etc.
Could anyone tell me how am I supposed to buy a phone in this country if all the bank cards and ID I have is from the UK and lastly if anyone has any advice how would I go about unlocking the phone?
Thanks for any help you might throw my way.
Cheers
Before going into detail, I'd like to mention what I read on here so far:
It IS possible to use ODIN to flash the unlocked firmware to the t-mobile Note 8
I found a step by step guide on here that describes how to flash the aforementioned firmware
The hardware in the unlocked Note 8 and t-mobile Note 8 is identical
Now considering the above facts, am I missing out on anything if I cancel my currently back-ordered unlocked Note 8 from Samsung's website and instead order the t-mobile version, which costs exactly the same and will ship this week?
Also, I am on Cricket Wireless (AT&T MVNO). Is unlocking the t-mobile Note 8 for use on other carriers a straightforward process? How long does this usually take?
Thanks in advance!
Yes, get the TMO one.
Unlocking can be difficult

The firmware for unlocked should work fine on tmobile version. Infact i am using the unlocked firmware on my S7 edge which is better that the original in terms of bloatware and performance. Based on what i read in other forums, buying tmobile is fine but getting it unlocked in the future might be a pain. Because of this reason, i am going to wait for the backordered note 8 even though there is delay.

Spending nearly $1000 on a phone and being expected to wait a month for it to ship does not work for me. Because of this, I have cancelled my order and will not be buying one anymore.
I'm currently using a nexus 6p on verizon and its getting long in the tooth. I want to buy an unlocked note8 directly from samsung or bestbuy, but not sure what I would give up vs buying one from verizon. Would I just pop a sim in, have them register my new imei and off I go?
I saw a mega thread thats like 50+ pages deep in the howto section about flashing between carriers, would I need to flash a certain file to the phone to get it to work properly on verizon? The unlocked seems to support all the bands. I just want the flexibility to use whatever carrier, so if I decide to switch my note over to TMO or cricket I won't have any concerns. Also might not get a note, but it looks nice, has newer software, was more recently released.
How is samsung with releasing OS updates? Would it be reasonable to expect android 8 on the note 8?
Hello!
I've been interested in buying a Galaxy Note 9 for some time, but I'd like a Snapdragon version (from what I can tell by reviews and tests it's better than the Exynos in performance, heat and battery and I don't really want to install custom ROMs, so no problem about the locked bootloader). Today I happened to stumble across an offer on a retail website where a seller just 20 km away from me is offering a Galaxy Note 9 which he says is new and bought from Samsung store in the USA (so I'm assuming it's the N960U carrier unlocked USA version), but he's also stating that it needs to be region unlocked. I've been searching online and I don't really understand what that's all about. I know the first step in purchasing a phone from retail is asking for the IMEI, but what can I exactly do with it? Does it provide the phone's exact model? And what does region unlocking imply?
I'd be glad if anyone could help me with this situation, as it's quite a rare chance and I'd be extremely happy to buy it, but I firstly want to be sure I can use it.
Provided it's not CDMA, the GSM bands should be comaptible with my carrier (Orange), or so I think. Any information is much appreciated.
Thanks and have a great day!
