[Q] Xperia SP lockscreen policy problem - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm on stock .201, not rooted.
Since I don't like camera shortcut on lockscreen I installed this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wordpress.chislonchow.deviceadminkeyguard
It was working fine for months - no camera shortcut, I only used calendar view on lockscreen, clock removed also.
This morning I discovered it had stopped working - on my lockscreen I had no option to add widgets, no camera shortcut, only the time.
I have tried settings in the mentioned app, activating and deactivating the app as administrator in security settings. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app. So far nothing helps.
How can I get my lockscreen back to the way I like it - no clock, no camera, only calendar (other than factory reset)?

I need root for that?
At the moment I couldn't find the folder you described.

You don't need root for it and it's not a path go to settings, press the apps section and swipe to 'all' there you should find the lockscreen and in the lockscreen app menu you can wipe data and cache

Ok, thanks for the clarification.
I found it and cleared all data.
The only effect was that the lockscreen picture was reset to default.
I still have the time (which can me deleted by holding and dragging to recycle bin icon but returns the next time) on my lockscreen and can't add anything.
Any other ideas?

A simple reboot did the trick for me... Sounds weird but sometimes that helps...

Did you have the same problem?
I have tried shutting down and restarting.
I'll try the reset hole in the back...
EDIT: Tried it, no change.
Still it gives me just the clock on lockscreen, which I can delete but it will be back the next time.
No option to add other lockscreen widgets.

You have removed the app I think?
If so reinstall it turn the widgets back on. Reboot phone and see again?

So I did:
1) Reinstalled
2) Turned the widgets back on
3) Rebooted
Sadly, no change, still I only get time which can be deleted but will return the next time.
Oh I guess it's still better than having the camera shortcut. Hope to see a new firmware from Sony soon, will do a factory reset then.

You did accept it as a device manager? (Just to be sure)

It has no effect, lockscreen remains the same - only time widget is shown and can be deleted but will return the next time.
I also tried enabling them one by one - also no effect.

U delete the folder of the app in internal sd after deinstall the app? Look at the app folder in root/data/data and delete it when it's existence and reinstall the app.

I didn't find a folder for that app, but yes, I have used this method once when I had trouble with waze and uninstalling didn't help.
Let's hope the rumours of .203 in a couple of weeks are true, then I'll do a factory reset anyway.

There is one thing you can try to.
Boot into safe mode.. Powerbutton and keep Turn Off a few seconds pressed and reboot into safe mode. If the problem is System related the issues should still be visible and you need to reset. If not then you know where to look

Tried safe mode - it's basically the same, no option to add widgets, no camera shortcut, only time widget.
But there is one difference, the time widget is off centre, aligned to the right and has different font size, looks uglier
EDIT:
Now that I boot back to normal mode. The option to add widgets is back!
So it seems the add-on program for controlling widgets and camera shortcut is now working again, since the camera shortcut didn't return, as per program settings.
Thank you!
PS! I didn't know that going to safe mode would erase all my shortcuts from home screens, all that are not from google (for example google maps shortcut is still there but not 3rd party apps)

[Q] How to remove the TouchWiz lockscreen [SOLVED :D]

Hey guys!
I'm wondering on how to remove the TouchWiz lockscreen because I'm about to use Lockbot wich act buggy with TW Lockscreen, it shows the TW Lockscreen before switching over to Lockbot.
Is there an APK somewhere i can remove to get rid of TouchWiz lockscreen (the one with the puzzle sliding etc.) ?
Thanks in advance masters!
Im in a similar predicament, i actually am using a passcode right now so it doesnt look like touchwiz

Thank you for your reply, the problem is I cannot use Lockbot now because the TW Lockesreen messes it up. Also on Exlair (Android 2.1) it is not possible to set up a passcode, FroYo is needed for that plus this won't fix my Lockbot issue either. I alreafy did some diging in the APK folders but couldn't really sort it out. You are on FroYo I believe? It is possible to set a SIM pincode but that doesnt help aswell.
PEACE!
The free app NoLock will remove your lockscreen entirely, if you press power/home to wake your phone it will immediately be unlocked. There are several apps on the market to replace your lockscreen with a different style but in my experience these aren't completely satisfying - sometimes the original lockscreen appears for a splitsecond, other times they're just not as responsive and may take a second longer for you to unlock the phone.
Regardless, just try searching the market for 'lockscreen' and see what you find. WidgetLocker is pretty good but not free.
Indeed I am on Froyo, I wasn't aware it isn't available on eclair. Well, if anyone else finds further development besides market apps that seem to slightly lag please help out!

Download SGS INFO on the forum here install and run the app selecting set powerbutton action. Select the tickbox and this will permantly disable the lock screen until you select otherwise.
The beauty if this is that it doesnt use a 3rd party app to do this just provides a shortcut to hidden options within the SGS.
Hope this helps.

You can also easily revert back to the stock lock (...and two smoking barrels! ) screen by modifying the code in /system/framework/android.policy.odex.

i installed the app. but when i choose set powerbutton action, i have only this one on the list :
shutdown: enable to shutdown on end call long press.
thats not right or ?
which code must i enter to disable lockscreen.
and would it be the same code to reactivate the stock lock screen ?

when i tick off the shutdown option, then 3 things happen:
1. the question if i really want to shut down my phone is gone. (i think this is the real action, what it does)
2. when i restart my phone, the sim card is not accepted, its even not asked for pin. i tried 3 times, so its not working
3. the lockscreen is gone.
so i need an other option, maybe i will deinstall it completly.
or has someone an other suggestion ?

issue: backuping in TRWP make widgets disappear

I tried a few times now, every time I backup in TWRP my widgets disappear, and sometimes Power Toggles. I can't figure out why backuping would make me lose anything.
Just now I run Titanium backup and Power Toggles disappears. Why the heck is backup causing me to lose things? Any ideas?
I'm running stock Android ROM, rooted, TWRP 2.5.0.0.
I'm the only one with this issue? really?
What do you mean disappear? Can you not see them or have they been deleted/uninstalled?
I was using Trebuchet until my widgets started hiding. They were there, just couldn't see 'em. Does that describe your problem?

After doing a Nandroid backup with TWRP, it causes the widgets to disappear off the default launcher home screen once I reboot.
Widgets don't uninstall, so this might be semantics as they are sub programs, but the main programs are still installed. It's just the widgets on the home screen that disappear.
You still didn't tell me. What do you mean by disappear?
Try Nova/Apex/GO. Trebuchet has a known issue where the widgets become invisible.

I'm sorry, I told you, the main program is still installed, but it's the widgets on the home screen that disappear. Invisible would suggest they are still on the screen and just waiting to be made visible again.
The good news, the problem doesn't exist on Viper ROM, but with the stock ROM, so I'm not worried about it anymore. Solved.

Why is one button nav disabled on the Android One version?

I got my X4 yesterday, and tried to enable one button navigation, but the option isn't listed anywhere. The Moto site says it's disabled. Is there any reason why? Could it be enabled with a ROM?
I have no idea, I contacted Motorola about the issue and they say it has nothing to do with them and I should contact Google. When I contacted Google they say it has to do with the app and I should contact Motorola...
You can enable it with Nova launcher, but when you do, you lose the nav bar, and the only way to get it back is a factory reset (so far).
Create a widget in Nova launcher.
Nice launcher - activities
Moto actions
tutorial.onenav.onenavtutorialactivity
Launch it. Do the tutorial. Can't remember if it crashes or not at the end. But you have to reboot phone. After reboot, nav bar will be gone, and you will be using one tough navigation.

Thanks!!
Yep, thanks! Don't know why I would ever want to reenable the nav bar.
You can also use QuickShortcutMaker to do this
Go to Moto Action
com.motorola.actions.tutorial.onenav.OneNavTutorialActivity
Follow the tutorial and at the end click on activate to enable the feature
Will this also enable "Moto Key"? I'd like to enable this for use on my android 1 so I can unlock my windows computer with my fingerprint.

After the tutorial I selected to enable it and then I rebooted. The nav bar is gone but the one touch isn't working. It's impossible to work the phone without the back button and home button.

Try rebooting it again? Or go thru the steps again and make sure it's actually enabled. I've been using it with no problems for over 2 months now.
Or try the widget the other person mentioned.
I went through the tutorial again and this time it didn't crash and as soon as it was done the button started working. Now after several reboots it's still working fine.
The one thing I noticed is that there are no settings for this available in the moto app and no matter what I do I can't get the phone to sleep like in the tutorial. The rest seems to work.

Is there a way to turn this off and re-enable the nav bar? I'd like to know if it's possible without doing a hard reset.

I’m also curious about this. I used the quickshortcutmaker method
I guess that the reason is the Android One program, which has to follow strictly stock Android behaviour (which does not include any kind of fingerprint sensor navigation).
1. Does this still work with oreo?
2. Is it reversible?
1. Yes. Just run adb shell "am start -n com.motorola.actions/com.motorola.actions.tutorial.onenav.OneNavTutorialActivity" twice through without rebooting.
2. You need to erase the data for Moto app in order to revert it.

Yep, that worked. Funny that my wife just started complaining about that the fingerprint sensor should be the home button so just in time. For the "erase the data," do you mean "Clear Data" in the app settings?
You need to do a factory reset, not clear the data and cache in the Moto app.
Does this activity exist as of the 8.1 update? I cannot find the activity using the Nova shortcut method. Have not tried the ADB method, as you have to do a workaround to get ADB in this version.

Pie keep killing my apps in background

Hello, since the update to Android Pie my phone is killing the app in background everytime i switch them. Since i use my phone for games it's very frustrating to restart the app everytime. How can i keep my apps open? Thanks in advance and sorry for my english
Maybe it is turned on in your developer options, that apps would strictly be killed after not in use. In developer options (Phone-info->software-info->tapping on buildnumber, till its unlocked) under the apps section ist the point you could maybe turn off.

Make sure they are allowed background access in app settings for battery.
Have you tried wiping the Cache Partition in Recovery Mode? It could be a simple software conflict.
Much easy to add app to run in backrground is on desktop long press on icon than press info about app...After that options of that app is open there choose battery options and than tick allow runing in background
You can check in device manager/battery if there is set to no run in background apps

A late reply but go to:
Settings>Apps Tap the 3 dots in the top corner and choose 'Special access' then choose 'Optimise battery usage'. From the choice of 'Apps not optimised' and 'All' choose 'All'. Turn off Optimise for each app you don't want to close automatically.

You'd think it being a Google device, this would be the first one it would work on. I just got rid of a Oneplus 7T which, apart from the camera, is proving to be the better device!
