Yesterday I rooted my phone and after a day of use everything seems normal except that I've just noticed that I've only got two modes in the camera app. Where there were previously several options in the camera mode selections (the square icon with four circles) screen including Zoe and Video, now I only have two Camera and Selfie.
Also, when I take a picture the app crashes immediately after taking a picture. The little icon with the last picture taken that takes you to your photos is also missing. The google camera app works perfectly as far as I have tested, but I really like the zoe camera.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?
Fix it, somehow
I haven't extensively tested this, but in case someone else makes their way to this thread with a similar problem I have found a solution.
I installed the apk of the HTC Camera app. Someone in the Verizon M8 forum posted it here:

Yes, another camera thread.
First off, my camera seems a bit sluggish, like it pauses when I tap the gallery pictures, or settings.
Second off, when I exit camera, the screen like, re sizes itself, I have it in "8mp mode"
Does anyone else experience this?
I use Camera360 (free version) instead of the stock camera, but it tends to behave strangely as well... This may be completely unrelated since you're most likely referring to the stock camera. Anyhow, the camera will go to a black screen after I've taken a few pics and I'll have to close the app before the viewfinder will fully function again.

My camera360 does that too. I think the screen is funny there cause its not formatted for the qHD yet. The camera issue, I think is a update Camera360 needs, cause on my GFs Captivate, it doesn't have that problem.
For a while now, I haven't been able to zoom in/out properly using camera apps that I've found on the app store (particularly Z Camera and Camera360). The problem is that when these camera apps are open, the image you see does not zoom. So if I pinched zoomed (or even used the volume keys to zoom), the live view you see does not zoom. However, once you actually take a picture, then the zoom actually shows up. Here's an example to hopefully clarify the problem:
Using the Camera360 app, I pinch zoom to 8x but don't take the picture yet. The live picture view on my screen stays at 1x even though I zoomed to 8x. Then, I take the picture and when I view/open it, the image is truly zoomed in to 8x.
As you can probably guess, this issue is a bit frustrating since you can't really tell how much you've zoomed in/out until after you take the picture. The strange thing is that the stock camera app works perfectly (no zoom problems).
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 Active-i537. This problem existed when I had UCUAMF3 (4.2.2) as my firmware. I've done a factory reset, and that didn't solve the issue. I just installed UCUCNE3 (4.4.2) in hopes of fixing the problem, but that also hasn't helped.
Any ideas as to what's causing this issue and how to fix it?
Hi,
Does the Note 8 have the dual shot camera mode found in other Samsung phones, where you can take pictures and video with both the front and back facing cameras at the same time?
I found myself using that mode the most on my Note 3, because I was always the one taking pictures and not appearing in any of them.
Thanks,
Daniel
Hello Daniel,
I just checked over all of my settings in the default camera app, and I did not find that feature.
Hi, It's not usually in the default modes, can you swipe from the left and try to add a new one, check if it's in the options from the market?
Thanks
It should do something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZJnBhcU3Eo
I'm familiar with the mode, but unfortunately, it is not a native option from Samsung. There are only 3 additional modes in the market: Fast Action, Animated GIF, and Rear Selfie, none of which will achieve the dual camera mode we are looking for. Sorry
i found a separate APK for this, if you are interested: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/help/dual-camera-mode-app-t3674266
I don't have the phone yet to test it out, but thank god for these people who mod out apps!
I downloaded the Dual Camera APK from APKMirror (the one that works as a plugin for Samsung Camera) and it works well. I've been using it for at least a month without trouble.
Cand it do Video and Pictures, or is it limited to just pictures?
Hello everybody, there is a new app called DuoVision Camera that records and takes picture from both front and back cameras simultaneously, and even has the retro frame with todays date. Check it out on playstore https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sec.android.app.camera.duovisioncamera&hl=en. Enjoy !
Hey guys, I am going insane. Yesterday morning I took a picture in snapchat and suddenly noticed it did a HDR enhancement after I took the picture, the picture actually looked great and comparable to shot made on Snapchat on iOS. Normally Snapchat has zero dynamic range whatsoever, let's say you take a picture inside a house: either the sky outside will by overexposed and just be white blob, or your sky will be exposed but the inside is absolutely dark.
After I took a picture it took half a sec and the overblown sky would look properly exposed, it looked the same as the pictures you get in the Instagram mode in the camera app. So I thought great they used Samsung's SDK they talked about for enhancing the camera in 3rd party apps. The beta version of the app also was updated on the 25th so I thought it was included in the update.
After I got back from work the pictures looked like before again, zero dynamic range. Like the update completely reversed or something. I was wondering why this might be, could it be server side testing or something? Can this be explained?
I have a Exynos S10e.
Hi gang,
I'm having a weird issue on my vivo x60 pro+. Sometimes I can't adjust the bokeh effect on the image I took in portrait mode. It seems to be a bit random. Restarting my phone does make it work again but does some appear to have had this bug?
Thx
For me it happens also. I clear data of camera and gallery app and the new camera shots can be adjusted. But the old ones never get fixed.
After you cleared the cache did it happen again?
The old bokeh photos didnt work. I couldnt adjust focus.but new ones worked. And after software update it didnt happen again
Does anyone know if there are apps for the PC/Mac that will allow you to adjust the bokeh of the photos we take or is it only the Album app on our phones?
I'd like to free up some space, but I won't delete the images if I lose that functionality
