Hi, I hope someone is available right now. I just flashed my G-Flex D950 via LG Flash Tool and left it plugged in, I dont know what made this flash different but it booted into Factory Test/Service Mode. The full SystemUI didn't load, just the status bar. I was able to slip into the settings panel and enable ADB and I am right about to ADB this *****. What else can I do that may be useful, I think I have higher priveleges without rooting.
If you got adb enabled then push the recovery and system IMG if you're not familiar with adb(comfortable ) then use the flash tool again and redownload your kdz or tot file again but this time use a downloader from the market place if you're using your android to diwnload . you may have gotten a bad download as I was till I used a downloader hell try to factory reset from settings if not try booting into recovery via adb or hard keys sequence. Via adb in windows : adb reboot recovery

I think you missed my point. I can get into factory boot mode, meaning RCT is not running and showing that I'm running rooted, I can also turn of AT&T bloatware and a bunch of other nice commands that were left on the device.

My current situation:
Recovery does not work, when I try to enter it it gets frozen on the Google screen with the lock at the bottom.
When I try to go into the phone normally I receive an infinite error "Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped".
My device is not being recognized as an ADB device so i cannot reinstall recovery (possibly USB debugging is disabled and cannot get to it).
How I got here, Used the Nexus RootToolkit v1.5 to unlock the bootloader/root the phone which worked fine except recovery was not working and the play market was gone for some reason. Did a variety of things to get it back with no avail and eventually got frustrated and tried a factory reset. Now I am in this perdicament :crying:
I came from a Samsung Galaxy and Odin was the universal tool to get the phone back even if it could not enter recovery or the phone, Is there anything like that that can fix the phone without entering recovery or the phone itself?
If you can get the device to recognize in fastboot you can flash the factory image for nakasi from here
How do you flash without entering recovery though?
Can you enter the bootloader? While the tablet is off, hold both volume buttons and the power button, and let go of only power after you see the Google logo. You should enter the bootloader. Download and decompress the factory image from the aforementioned link and open the flash-all file in Notepad to see the required fastboot commands. Use the corresponding command to flash the stock recovery back to your Nexus 7 and see if that fixes your issue. If your computer isn't recognizing your Nexus, install the Universal Naked Driver: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766220. Good luck!

I installed the universal naked drivers with no problem. Sorry for the noob question but where do I input the commands in the flash-all file for the fastboot?

You need to have the Android SDK installed, open a command prompt, and cd to its directory and the tools folder. In there is the fastboot binary that allows you to run fastboot commands. For ease of execution, you can just install the SDK on the root of your C: drive or just copy the tools folder to wherever it was installed by default (/Program Files/Android/).

Thanks guys! Restored to factory stock and am back from the brick.

Hey all,
Like the title says, i'm requesting a HOWTO on this fastboot business. There are a mess of links and pages out there and it would be extremely helpful if someone posted the "XDA-Approved" step-by-step links in the order of which they should be done in order to obtain fastboot and then obtain the ICS Leak. Thanks! And I apologize in advanced for my inexperience
First off, fastboot is for reporting your phone to stock. You should be able to fastboot from gingerbread if you can't seem to get the OTA installed, but I haven't tested it.
I'm out and about now, but can throw together something quick...
Before following this guide, be sure the battery is more than 60% charged. Fastboot don't allow flashing on batteries lower than 50%, and if you mess up the instructions you might need to do it a couple times.
1) download and install latest Motorola drivers
2) find a copy of RSDlite 5.7
3) download the latest fastboot file for the Droid4 from sbf.droid-developers.com and extract the files
4) turn off phone and hold vol+ and vol- when posting back up
5) boot menu will appear, use vol- and highlight AP fastboot, then press vol+
6) connect phone to pc
7) open rsdlite, select xml file to fastboot, then press okay
Good luck!

Thanks! So after this we should be able to run ClockWork
No, after the fastboot you need to root then install safestrap 2.0 for d4

So I'm new to Motorola devices and am not familiar with RSDlite, but it looks like its just a program that gives all the fastboot commands a GUI. Is this right?

Mostly correct. There is a special moto-fastboot program that is used to flash the partitions. I think it utilizes that program somewhere beneath the GUI.
Does Droid 4 still have that root counter?
I was still under the impression that there was some type of root counter, like 0/0 to 0/1 if you root once which would void the warranty?
Also, is there a SBF one click or do we still need to use rsdlite 5.7? That was soooo nice with the droid 3, the apfastboot one click.
Does anyone know if either of these issues are being worked on?...
Thank you in advance..
Hey guys long time personal device modder and lurker here, I've seem to have bricked my girlfriends phone, and she is currently not very pleased.
I attempted to unlocked the boot loader for her D415
from this tutorial here http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/general/guide-unlock-bootloader-t-mobile-l90-t2836457.
did the first half of the guide ( adb ), I wasnt able to get reach fastboot from lack of fastboot drivers, but after reading another thread turns out her d415 was unlocked already. I rooted the phone with towelroot, installed TWRP from I think rom manager, booted into recovery from terminal emulator, made a backup of the phone using TWRP and installed cyanogenmod 11.
Now everything worked great with the phone, but she wanted Gapps. When I installed Gapps from TWRP half of the Gapps werent there ( the play store was missing ) , and a google plus notification repeatably kept popping up. So I decided to restore the phone with the backup of the phone I made earlier and reinstall cyanogenmod. Once the restore was complete it was booted into fastboot. At first her phone wasn't being recognized, I found the drivers for fastboot, on this guide here http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/general/guide-fastboot-l90-d415-t2827825. I can communicate with my phone from fastboot but that's it. I tried using fastboot to install the cyanogenmod and stock rom but I got a 'error: update package has no android-info.txt or android-product.txt" from each rom
So any help would be appreciated! Sorry for the long post, I didnt wanna leave out any details that could help!

I don't think I can enter recovery by holding down buttons on this phone, I think the only way I could reach it is from a terminal emulator or TWRP manager? So what would flashing a recovery do ? because wouldnt I still be in flashboot?
Sorry only being stuck in flashboot is weird.

Hello guys,
i bricked my vs980 and now i need help.
Here is the story.
I was on 4.4.2 ROM. i installed towelroot and rooted phone. Then i downloaded autorec for vs980 to install twrp. After reboot all i can see on phone are colorful lines. Phone wont boot to OS (after few seconds it auto reboots). I have no download mode or fastboot mode. ALL i have is twrp installed, but i cant see anything on screen (anythinkg usefull - only those multi-colored lines). In twrp i can enter sideload mode.
When i enter sideload mode i see i adb my phone and it says im in sideload mode. So using adb i can install something (at least i think so).
Is it possible to unbrick my phone or is it totally lost?
I think i would need to somehow install original partitions on it using adb sideload.
I dont know how. i tried installing some roms, no success. Still phone wont boot to OS. I propably messed something with partitions when i was trying to unbrick it.
I tried installing kernel KK_Kernel_VS980_jdi, it doesnt help.
Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.
// edit
Restoring download mode would be good. I would flash kdz then. But no idea how to do it having adb sideload only
//edit 2
I managed using sideload to flash 26a bootskatck and xdabbeb 2.3.0 rom. Then i flashed KK_Kernel_VS980_jdi which should repair those white lines. Now in recovery i still have all those lines (cant see anything on screen), but phone boots to OS. In OS, there are some lines but i can see everything on the screen (KK_Kernel_VS980_jdi helped). I guess now i need to restore download mode. But how?
//edit 3
I restored dl mode using zip from xdabbeb 2.3.0 thread and managed to install 24a using kdz method. It partiallly repaired phone - there are some lines, but according to info found on net they will disappear after some time (24h approx).
Rafal.
Good morning i just got my lg g4 yesterday i was able to root it and flash custom recovery twrp via adb yesturday i even flashed some roms but today no matter what i do i cant get adb to work i keep on getting unathorized. Or how can. I fix the unauthorized on adb i think the problem is in my phone i tried diffrent computers windows 7 and 10 any help will greatly appreciates thanks

Did you try USB 2.0, if you a have a USB3.0 port it causes problems,
does your G4 serial starts with serial 505 to 510 and harware 1.0 ? those seems affected by the hardware flaw that makes boot loops
I read somewhere in here that serials 601and upper have the bootloop flaw fixed
Anyway, if you have an SD card installed, with the phone off remove it
and try again without the SD card
sometimes that helps
looks like G4 is a unstable beast
I did the same thing, I still haven't gotten adb working again but you can boot into recovery via kernel auditor. Or do a factory reset via the hardware keys and it will take you to twrp.
Sent from my LG-H811 using Tapatalk
I'm stuck at pretty much the same juncture. Kernel Auditor requires root to function (which we both seem to have lost) and the hardware buttons/factory reset just do that then boot me back into the rom. I also assume it's something with the phone since it reads "unauthorized" on 3 separate machines. Any other thoughts guys?
Also it has become apparent that although I fastbooted into TWRP initially, it did not stick. Leaving me with stock recovery, and clueless how to flash a recovery without ADB access.
@oogsaggie this what i did to get it fixed just download LGUP, put it in download mode, download the 20i KDZ file, and go back to stock 20i. and then root again make sure you permanently flash twrp move the twrp. image to your phone and flash iy from twrp

@COCODRILO45 Ended up doing exactly that. Wish I had seen your post earlier, but regardless great minds and all that stuff. For future reference I think COCODRILO45's solution is the most painless way to go. Cheers!
