Hey everyone ... I got robbed... Hope you can help - Off-topic

Today after getting home from work... My apartment had been broken into. Stole my TV... Chromecast... Chromebook... And few other things. Is there anyway to track a Chromebook or Chromecast once connected to the internet?... Thank you

Mirroring ipad to android ?

This is the first problem i have encountered where google and several android forums could not provide me with an answer.
So i thought i would ask the source from which all knowledge flows.
Thats you guys. I have bought an MK802 Android USB stick to plug into my HD TV.
I would love to be able to mirror my ipad onto my TC through the Android USB device. But how on earth would i do it?
As far as i have learned. Splashtop and other remote desktop apps, only works one way, and that is when the Computer is the receiver, i have found no Airplay replacement app for android so far.
So has anyone got any ideas how i could do it?
This is off topic. There is no knowledge here.
You could mirror your ipad screen to the computer. Then mirror the computer screen to your Android. That's the only way I can think of.

Or I guess you could put Linux on your android device and use wine.

Play. Com Dock Stand Wrong Way Round

Not amazingly clever - the USB bit is the wrong way round so the screen faces away from you...

I guess either send it back or try a bit of surgery to see if it can be rotated.

Yeah, its going back... I bought it for my mom cos she's disabled and struggles to hold things in her hands. I'll get another one elsewhere.
You'd think they'd check this out before production. Even on a cheap £15 stand.

Wow this is like epic fail
Sorry OP, personally I would pissed off and let someone at Google know
Got same thing here with one off of Amazon...

Well i imagine its because the Nexus 7 has its Micro USB port the other way around Im assuming its a standardised production. Well, this is the case compared to my Desire, S2, Touchpad and now S3
lolwow. terrible.
I was thinking about getting this, glad I didn't now.

Why? Google had nothing to do with it.
I've emailed in to get it returned. The seller is stating that they sent the wrong one, but I've kind of lost my faith in it. Might get a folio case thing instead.
It is funny that they have turned the USB connector the different way up to other phones and tablets I've used. Maybe the manufacturer thought Asus would follow with the general rule and got caught out.
Upside down USB and really picky with chargers... What'll come up next?

The one x also has a flipped USB port - still catches me out every time.

Why would Google flip around the USB port? One of those little things that just drive you crazy...

The Nexus' USB port is the same orientation as on my Sony ereader.

I don't think this is really made by Google as they haven't announced docks yet
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
PEBKAC. This is an emartbuy dock (you can see plenty on play.com's site). They only appear to carry these for phones. This one looks exactly like the one made for the Samsung Galaxy SIII.
oh man
wow *FacePalm* But thanks for the heads up. I'll know to steer away from this one I am looking in to an alarm clock dock that also streams music and charges the Nexus 7. Not available yet but signed up for info.

I feel like having an unrooted cc leaves you Sol in here

I'm angry I did t keep root granted. But it feels like I'm just out of luck now...
Is there no hope for a 1330 root

I feel your pain.
To be honest, I think the folks in other countries are in a slightly worse boat. At least US users of non-rooted Chromecasts still have all the stock apps including HBO Go and Pandora. Seems like the folks in Canada are having trouble even with those.
If we're lucky there will be a nice Christmas (or pre-Christmas) present from Google...

I'd say that's definitely gonna be the case, especially since Google is conducting their Google Cast SDK "Hackathon" on Dec. 7-8th. I'd say the SDK will be released either at that time or less than a week after. My bet is that it will be officially released immediately following that event though.
Just bought one today and was really disappointed to find out it's not rootable because it's the new firmware. Hoping there's a fix soon..

Yeah. I got one today. Tried to root. No dice. Gave up and just plugged it in the TV. And then the update came. Oh well. Maybe someday.

For the sake of the thread on here about rootable/non-rootable Chromecast's serial numbers, what do y'alls serial numbers look like? i.e. 3901***** , 38*****, etc..

It was a 3A number. I know what the other post said about those, but I'm stubborn ( lol ) and tried it anyway.

Yeah since I'm outside the US and have an unrootable Chromecast I had to buy a new wireless router just so I could use DD-WRT to get around the Chromecast's built-in Google DNS and access the US Netflix library. But on the bright side it's a damn good router even without the Chromecast
Same prob here, I was in a rush to try it out, I forgot to check xda first. The device is currently just lying in the drawer as I hardly use it since I live in Singapore so I got no netflix, just YT lol
Is it possible to play videos on websites based on flash in cc? Or is it possible with root? What i really want to know is do flash videos play? Thanks a bunch.

Yes, if done via the Cast extension for Chrome, but this does on-the-fly transcoding (decode/re-encode) on your computer so it needs some CPU horsepower.
Chromecast cannot natively play Flash, rooted or not.

Yeah mine was a 3a as well, I didn't even try to root it after reading this. Plus my otg is unpowered. Figured I can look for a older one and just buy another since they are cheap and try again or just hope with the release of sdk....

Miracast issues?

Hi all, I'm having issues with a cheap Miracast dongle bought on eBay.
My phone can see and connect to it, but when the dongle says "ready to display" the connection gets dropped and the device disappears momentarily from the 'available devices' screen on my phone.
I suspect this is the dongle more than the ROM but if someone else with a Miracast receiver could confirm I'd appreciate it.

I haven't tried my Nexus 4 recently with Miracast, but I'll try and test it tonight with my mako.
Should be working, if it isn't, something got derped.

Netflix voice out of sync.

I was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue with their G Flex and if there is a simple fix? The voice is just a hair off, mostly when using any blutletooth ear piece or headset. It is even off a tiny bit when it's coming through then internal speaker.
It may be me being a little OCD, but it's driving me nuts and never had these issues with any other phones. Just recently switched from a Note 2.
Is it a weaker blue tooth in this or something else?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I haven't noticed anything, I'll try pairing my phone to my Bluetooth speaker tonight and see if I have the same issue.

It's only on Netflix though, so hopefully you have a subscription. It don't happen on anything else but Netflix. Wonder if I should try contacting them about it.
YouTube works fine, movies downloaded work fine... I don't get it.

I've seen this via Bluetooth with both my Noisehush and Arctic headsets. Only while watching Netflix.
Sent from my LG-D959 using xda app-developers app
I had this last night using my headphones (not blue tooth) hopefully it is just a temporary bug with Netflix
Sent from my LG-D959 using Tapatalk
This is happening to me as well and is annoying. It's like watching a old karate movie. Lol. As of now I just use my wired headphones.
Sent from my LG-D959 using Tapatalk
It's only with this phone and only with Netflix. Wife and daughter have G2's and they are perfect. Wonder why Netflix don't play nice with the Flex? Hopefully it is just a bug fix, but enough of us need to complain.
If not fixed, gonna trade this phone in sooner than anticipated.
Watch a lot of Netflix.

I called Netflix and they were no help at all. T-Mobile tech women Alana was very nice and made a trouble ticket. She's calling me back Monday morning. She told me to call LG. I called LG and spoke to a guy named Nizo and he wasn't that helpful but said he will forward it to a higher up tech deapartment. He aked if I had a LG headset and then said it could be connection problems. I was about to say I'm not with Sprint anymore. lol I told him 20 people on xda are having the same issue with different bluetooth headsets. I told him that they will all be calling him so do it. I ended the conversation telling him one of the reasons whey I got the LG Flex is because of the Netflix promo and if the problem isn't fixed quickly then I might get another manufactures phone.
My Samsung wired headphones don't have the issue.
T-Mobile - 1-877-453-1304
LG - 1-800-793-8896
Seems to just be with Netflix for me. Both the WWE network and YouTube play nice with both headsets i have.
