Got a problem
Hey, I encountered a problem in my gionee m2... Whenever I try to add widget on a 3rd party launcher such as go launcher or Nova launcher, the settings crashes...Plz help me solve this problem!!!

Yup.. Everyone are facing.. Its due to stupid amigo ui.. I guess it will be fixed via future updates..

Exactly, you'll not be able to add Widgets because of Amigo UI. Solution is if your phone is rooted, install busybox and an application named "system app mover" or any application which can do that work. Once this is done, you can install Nova launcher and then open system app mover, granting root permission. Push Nova launcher into system and reboot. Now, Nova launcher will be into your system and you can add any Widgets onto you home screen..

Update:
I was checking out many launchers to see if the widget problem existed in all the Launchers..... But as I saw, the settings didn't crash in Launchers Like nemus launcher or MIUI home.

Okk make any launcher into system app and widgets will work..

Hi! Is there anyone who can port "Color OS" for our Gionee M2? System which comes inbuilt with "Oppo" phones.

The idea of bringing all customization info for Gionee m2 in one place is highly appreciable.
By the way its a great phone, I will just charge it every 3 days (with 3G on for 24/7 & WIFI for 2 hours. I do not play music that frequently. But I browse a lot. With 4 Gmail accounts + 7 LIVE accounts + 2 Exchange accounts + Weather widgets)
Just thinking about my old WP7 phone (HTC HD7) which I had to charge every day (mostly twice) & holding this phone now.....its heaven.
I was searching for days to find information for rooting, flashing.....finally came here.
1. I have rooted using framaroot (third option in exploit list worked for me)
2. Before that rooted it using VRoot tool from XIAOMI site
3. Installed Mobile uncle tools from Play store
4. Downloaded and kept the recovery.img in SD card (make sure you keep it in the root directory - meaning not in sub folders of SD card)
5. Installed the recovery using MTK Mobile uncle tools
6. Then installed ROM manager
7. Went into recovery mode
8. The Touch based recovery was good (compared to old button based where I had problems in my old device where the volume buttons were not working)
9. Remember that the touch recovery there will be no back button. (you have to swipe LEFt & RIGHT for drilling)
10. Downloaded & kept the pure AOSP rom in my SD card
11. Took a complete BACKUP of current ROM (prebuilt AMIGO UI based rom that comes with Gionee M2)
12. Copied the backup to my computer (safe side)
13. Went to ROM manager & installed the custom rom (that i downloaded in step 10). Using ROM manager is easier because you do not have to remember stuff like wipe/reset/dalvik......& what order to perform them
14. Finally had a fresh new OS.
15. Installed themer & my phone now rocks.
DETAILS:
Stock AMIGO UI: When I bought it: Free RAM: 430
Stock AMIGO UI: After installing apps: Free RAM : 140
Custom AOSP: After installing apps: Free RAM : 500+

Yes, Shivam made this nice rom and we're really thankful to him but I think there's a minor bug in this rom with it's tethering. Check this out if you have not got this problem? Try connecting your phone's Wi-Fi 4-5 times and then start Wi-Fi tethering if it gets active? And if it's not then you won't be able to open your phone's Wi-Fi bro..

I don't think you'll get Samsung's keyboard apk file anywhere because it is made only for Samsung roms but yes you can have a look at this thread:

Change 3g sim option included
which of the above roms include change 3g sim option in settings as i downloaded lewa but it doesn't have it .
are there any mods to to do the same for any custom rom and also i am not able to flash lenovo super camera in stock amigo , does someone know why?

I have searched the internet for a stable ROM for my device. Seems there is none. That's why I'm worried.

you cant flash one device rom to another device,until both of them are exact clones. i think only walton primo HM and Qmobile Noir M90 (not sure) are exact clones of gionee M2.
another way is port this rom to your device and flash.there are plenty of porting guides available here in xda.

In Gionee Stock ROM if some one gives miss call or call got missed, then in call it shows after how many rings call got disconnected.
Even in Oppo mobile it shows the number of call rings.
Can you please confirm does this ROM also shows number of call rings after missed call.

Yes. It shows the no of rings for missed calls. I think that feature is available in all ROMs.

Yes it do show in MIUI ROM, but in CleanKat or Material ROM it was missing or better any ROM with AOSP number of rings is missing.
Thanks I will try this ROM as I was got bored of Stock ROM, and you know there is an update on stock ROM dated 7-Feb-2015 after which rooting is also not possible .
So now I have to install stock KitKat and then recovery and then this ROM, do you have better option?

there's no such issues in M2 4GB model.flashed by more than 100 people
so
Use preflash wipe option ,then flash rom and dont try xposed

I am using this ROM since few days and I don't find any problem, battery life is also excellent.

Currently I'm using this rom, and I didn't install xposed. But I faced 1 auto restart after 3 hrs of fresh rom install, I think some app or lib file conflict is there.

No such issues. Use pre flash option from ctr,then flash the Rom. Also don't flash it over jb,you must on some kk Rom-either stock or custom.
Some people faced low call volume-that's the only issue and we are making patch for it.

Sorry , for the trouble .
I totally understand your issue , these random reboots aren't rom-specific issue and rather the differential loading of files which happens sometimes when you've played too much with the device .
I also have similar issues on roms(not color Os ) which are confirmed to be stable by my friends but I get those random reboots .
Try , reinstalling the rom 1/2 times again .

I think I found a bug for this random restart, restart happens only when I activate guest mode. I reinstalled os yesterday and didn't do anything in security center,and this rom works fine, till now.

UI limitations/Issues
1. Default dpi we put is 220 , you can change it from build.prop file , but changing the value may cause dpi issues in themes.

You must have CTR custom recovery.

Must use this CTR, other recoveries causing issues in ROM.
First take a full ctr backup in case you want to restore your old ROM
Reboot to ctr
wipe menu-> preflash wipe option
Install ROM zip from sd card
Reboot​

Enabling 3G on SIM 2
1.Open the provided Dual sim control app and go to Data Connection tab
2.Press on "Set SIM 2 as 3G"
it'll now set your SIM 2 in "WCDMA Preferred" mode .Enjoy 3G on SIM 2.:good:
If you want to set as "WCDMA Only" mode ,follow step 3,4&5
3.go to settings/about phone and tap 4 or 5 times on Internal Memory , it'll lead you to testing mode
4.From Testing , press Phone information2
5.You'll see "WCDMA Preferred" press it and change it to "WCDMA Only"
That's all
Enjoy 3G on SIM 2 and press thanks to US

1 another thing i observed that ussd crashed in sim 2 (idea prepaid)
Don't know abt other ppl but i personally face this problem.

Sim 2 two time ussd bug is present in official miui beta too. I mentioned this in first post.
But balance check or such single step ussd working fine, issue only with long ussd codes. Whenever official beta got fix, we will provide patch too.

I'm using an old version of launcher probably v5.3.1, in which this bug has been fixed. In this latest version also it works but I can't change wallpaper, that means you can change internal wallpaper but not from SD cards. And if I click wallpaper option in settings menu it force close.
But any I'm going to stick with this one. Use this one to fix icon overlapping bug

It works with 5.7.6
But not working with 5.7.14 ( ported latest- nothing new)
But I decompiled both launchers and got some ideas
Hopefully I can fix icon overlap issue

Got one from MMX group and its working fine .
Now all OK
Even ussd code bug fixed , but partially on sim 2
Long ussd codes on sim 2 ( like activation of net packs through ussd) not working
When I asked (see my ss) about that in redmi note 3G forum , they said its present from first beta miui 6.
Anyway I noticed it now though
But since its from beginning, it may not get fixed - not sure

both SIM with 3G?.good work my friend..you didnt find any error afterwards? not even in official rom you have that..3G sim 1, 2G sim 2..it may not work for every MTK6582..PM me i wanna know wich changes you have made..

Just port this
Sim 2 3G will work 100%
Also replace mi account app with that patch so that it'll not crash
Currently this ROM ported to xolo,MMX,lava,other gionee models and to some others
All developers said sim 2 3G worked fine

BUGS
1. Few DPI issues in Dialer ( only at default 240DPI of Gionee M2). Working fine at lower DPI
2. Software Navigation key can not be enabled, if you try to enable from build.prop edit it gives you systemui FC. I haven't tried with GB

INSTRUCTION
Download the ROM.
Put it in your SDcard.
Go to recovery.
Wipe System, Data, and Cache ( if are you using TWRP wipe system, data, Cache first then wipe dalvik cache and reboot recovery before flashing ROM zip)
Flash the ROM.
Follow the Instruction in Aroma.
Reboot
Done.
