Just flashed this baby very quick IMO thinking of trying this thing out as a base learned a lot from @insanemod to port a miui rom and seeing what the difference performance wise would be

Gummy question
First of all pardon my ignorance. I have flashed several ROMS with sucess (and instructions!), however I have not seen anything on Gummy as far as instructions. Is Gummy a stand alone ROM or does it get installed on top of an exsisting ROM? If the later is true which ROM is the best to install over? I have a Bionic with a stock 904 and am rooted. Thank you!
Denny
I'm not sure what's going on with TeamGummy, but I'm having a LOT better luck with HiveDev's unofficial CM9 port. I installed the 5/31 nightly and I'm having amazing luck with it. The camera is even extremely usable!

Is this a stand alone? Thanks!

Ok, so I loaded the ROM. There is nothing Google, how do you load any apps? I found the Google Play apk and Titanium Backup apk, loaded both and neither work. Thanks!
Denny
You need to flash GAPPS after you flash the ROM. Here is a link to what I think is the latest GAPPS
http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-ics-20120422-signed.zip
It worked! Thanks!
Well after a couple of days trying this ROM I have to say I'm not happy with the performance. I keep having to reboot, I keep losing my radio and phone service. I have made calls where I can hear nothing but the other person can hear me. Maybe I'll try again when they get the bugs worked out.
This is the official "which is the best ROM for the Touchpad Thread"
In lieu of all the threads recently being created, asking the same question "which is the best, fastest, least trouble free" ROM for the device, this thread has been created.
Notice, all other threads asking the same question, will be deleted and re-directed here. This is in an effort to keep the number of new threads lower, and to enable better searches for people looking for an answer.
Thread Rules
1. No Flaming and no arguing. Everybody has a favorite.
2. No links to external Sites. The ROMs must be linked at XDA

Er...you may be in the wrong forum...
I have found the CM9 nightly to be the most stable for playing games. I've tried the CM10 and others but as soon as I launch a online game, the TP will generally freeze up.
I play a game called "Tanked" which is online and a great tank killing game against other players. Lots of fun...great graphics, and addicting.
If someone has a suggestion as to a more stable, yet fast rom for this type of gaming, please indicate which you use. I will try and load it up and give you a quick review of stability vs the cm9.
Thanks

Same here. My kids love playing games and I have problem with the T-pad crashing on CM10. I've tried every CM10 ROM available. Each has it's own unique advantanges, but hate seeing Tp constantly crash to mboot.
After rolling back to CM9 nightly, I am not longer having this problem. It's not as smooth as CM10, but kids are happy.
Thanks the Dev for trying to port JB. Hope they continue to get things fully straighten out.
Best roms
This One
cm-9-20130203-NIGHTLY-tenderloin.zip
Bug free?
Mic works
Camera works
I'm surprised there aren't more posts in this thread..BUT...
I go from CM9 nightly to nightly and they seem to be the best. Very smooth and non-problematic (for the most part).
I use unofficial cm10 03/08. Works great for me.
I would like to try different ROMs, but I can't seem to find one as stable as CM, any ideas?

You may use RandomROM OR Schizoid OR AOKPCM10REMIX_DEC_0412.
These are all the most stable that I have tried
I am using CDMoncrieff 's CM10.1, AOSP version. It's good enough that I'll be using it as my daily driver. I don't use Bluetooth (as far as I know, it's the only thing not working), so that doesn't affect me.

Ditto. On CDmoncrieff's 10.1 AOSP since yesterday. Was on SickleROM CM10 before that. Liked that one as well.
Update: Camera is not working on my new ROM. Everything else seems to be good so far.

Got it to work, although the preview is upside-down. However, that is already a known issue acknowledged by CDMoncrieff. I am loving it so far.
Schizoid has tha most features...
I am now using SGA'S 4.2.2, 04/02 version. Applied the hd zip, and it does everything I need.
Battery life is incredibly good.
Hello, I just decided to put Android on my touchpad, but I don't know which ROM to go with first. I just want something with the best features available while being stable, I don't know if I should go with CM9 or CM10 since from what I see the CM10 ROM's seem to be more buggy? As-well as which Android version, since the latest is 4.2.2 but it still seems to be in its early stages of development.
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the answer, I flashed it on my touchpad, however I noticed that flash is really buggy on CM10, it just gives me some horizontal lines, and when I full screen it theres only like a 10% chance of it working, since most of the time its just a black screen or it just flickers over and over and freezes, sometimes its even crashed my touchpad. Would it be best to go to a CM9 rom, or is there some work-around for this problem?
It seems that CyanogenMod has forgotten our phone and we're only getting nightlies, and I've never really tried any other ROM but official CM.
Can you give an answer then?

There is no such thing as "Best ROM" and these sort of threads aren't allowed on XDA. Read the dev threads, choose a couple of different ROMs to download, and try them out for yourself.

what does stable mean ? android is open source operating system developed under linux. even the official stock rom from lg is full of bugs and great latency and droping the fps when we just navigate in the homescreen.
forget the word stable and forget the word best. every rom has good parts and bad parts. thats the way it should be. you cant have everything. for example you cant have a perfomance build and at the same time a big battery life.
thats life. we cant have everything and nothing is perfect. we just choose the most suitable one for us.

I am sorry, but threads like "which ROM is best" or "suggest a ROM for me" are not allowed. You should test out the ROMs that interest you and make your own choice.
Sorry i didn't know that, but its kind a lame
Well there is way to read all comment under roms but would take too much time

In that case, I will suggest to our friend @princesama1 to give a shot at Official CM11.
From my experience, it's the most stable and reliable ROM that I had on the phone.
Thanks, but im a little scared of CM's x time ago i tried it in an another phone but i didn't liked it

I recommend that you either try the ROM in my signature or the ROMs built on unofficial sources.
I have no idea why but official stutters during just any game that puts above 70% load on CPU and I even experience lags while recording no matter what kernel I use. This wouldn't happen before but since some time now it's happening and I'd prefer CM 10.2 over CM11 official.
Unofficial sources have updated blobs, some stuff about camera is broken but games are faster, UI and general usage etc. all snappier.
I'd suggest to try out the LiquidSmooth Rom or SlimKat. Had the best experience with those and running LiquidSmooth + Cydoak kernel atm. Works like a charm .
I'm sad... i tried a lot of rom but i like nothing...
Cm11 offical wasnt able to do 4G idk why (i even got sms from Telenor lol) some roms broke
Almost all rom the same...they have only different name
Its so sad, i really liked statusbar in cm
Ill try LiquidSmooth Rom, SlimKat roms when ill learn how to download it ^^'
In your opinion what is better? SlimKat or LiquidSmooth?

Our phone doesn't support LTE or 4G. It supports HSPA+, HSPDA, 3G and other 2G types
There is a possibility for me to buy this phone, but I saw that many games are very laggy, what ROM is the best for gaming? I'm not going to buy it if the performance is worst than my Xperia L.

yes there is one... But it doesn't have any customisatons option.. And my mobile gets easily even in moderate use..
How about Miui V7. Did you try?
I want stock like nexus.. miui lags
There were a lot of stable cm and aosp+ builds of KitKat. Download 1 of them and flash a modern kernel for lp or one of them that has KitKat support and it should work just fine. I flashed carbon rom then flashed xcelerate build 65 kernel without any issues booting or functioning. I never used it long enough to confirm random reboot was gone but as that was related to kernel issue the odds are it wasn't going to ever happen

Me too. I don't really like MIUI. Why don't you try Lollipop ROM like Blisspop. It's quite stable, no bugs, no SOD, customizable, you can use as daily ROM. I used Extended Partition, TWRP and TK Gapps.
It is better than MIUI, I think.
lollipop don't have good battery backup
this is not entirely true ... the difference is about 10 or up to 20% in favor of miui (stable) ... the latest china developer MIUI rom also suffers from poor battery life... sacrifice 1h (sot) use of the phone is quite profitable ... in my eyes.
Sot may not see a huge difference but with standby time KitKat blew lp out of the water unless you didn't flash gapps in lp. That's my opinion and experience anyway. Gapps in lollipop is always a huge battery drain I've never been able to fully control even by turning everything off in app ops and etc.

There are any issues with your configuration ?
Only real problem I seen was a slower charge and the back camera didn't work and the front camera quality was crap. If it had a working camera I would honestly still be using carbon KitKat or even pa aosp+ KitKat which didn't have the slow charging issue but didn't look as nice though either.
Sorry my quotes no longer work Tapatalk has to keep screwing up a good thing and turning it into crap
Sent from my MI 3W using Tapatalk
out of all the custom roms i tried, Ivan's aosp kitkat was the most stable and I had no problems with it except the capacitive button light issue which wasn't a major concern for me, for customizations xposed was my way to go. I highly recommend you to try it if stability is your concern ✌
hope this helped you

I wouldn't recommend it because the only good KitKat rom for this phone was Ivan's. Pa wasn't bad but you won't have a camera anymore. I never tested it on Ivan's but I did test it on carbon and WiFi worked fine on it if I remember correctly. The slow charging (which is fixable flashing a boot.img from a rom with faster charging) and not having a working camera kept me from keeping it. I still wouldn't recommending going to KitKat unless you can persuade a Dev to make a fully functional KitKat rom. I seen a couple devs say they would but never followed through and with all the real devs working on marshmallow your not going to see any help there.

On PA with Xcelerate, Wi-Fi didn't work and also there was frequent android.media force closes. Not with other kernels though. Camera of course doesn't work.
I didn't stayed long on the ROM. But I did got a random reboot type once (in PA the phone simply dies and u have to hard reboot). Camera doesn't work of course.
Ivan's ROM is laggy af. The scrolling is laggy everywhere and etc. I don't like the custom kernels as the phone heats (little bit less with Xcelerate). And not quite sure whether the upcoming Xcelerate build will be compatible with MIUI.
Only MIUI is the usable Kitsap ROM quite actually. Would have been cool if Xiaomi upgraded the Android version, which is not gonna happen at all IMO
