The built in quickremote app has fairly robust set top box options, but sadly doesn't have the iView 3500 that I use as a digital converter box. Anyone have experience with getting a set top box to work if it doesn't show up in the list?

Good call. New to the G2, didn't take learning mode all the way through, therefore not knowing I could "teach" it.

I haven't seen anyone talking about Sense TV so I thought I would start a conversation.
If you have not tried it out yet, DO IT!
Sense TV is awesome. It takes you through a guide to setup your TV provider (Many to choose from), you TV, cable/sattelite box, and even you AV receiver.
You tell it your favorite shows and I think it even learns your viewing behavior to suggest things that are on or are coming on soon. I can completely control everything with my TV Dish box, and AV receiver.
When you open the app it will tell you some of the shows on now or you can go to the guide. The really cool thing is you just click on the show and it changes the channel for you. So sweet!
Anyone else loving this App?
Silly but it's probably one of my favorite things. I've used it all weekend with my tvand Directv setup.

Although it's awkward getting into some other, deeper options of my surround system or cable box, if I can at all, it IS kind of awesome!
I especially love the channel guide. little icons of TV shows you can just press and be whisked away to that channel. That is really handy! If Zeebox could be updated to incorporate the IR blaster on this think, think of the possibilities!
I was amused by the addition of the it and thought "that might be cool in a few months when it's left to mature".. But its pretty damn cool now!
kudos, HTC!

My TV remote recently bit the dust and I was in the process of looking for a replacement. But....not now!!! I can't adjust sensitive TV settings such as color tweaks and stuff but, I can do all the normal functions from my phone. Even change inputs and stuff.
This app helped my out a ton for sure. Now can someone please bring me my popcorn?
This is the shirt!!! It's awesome, wish it gets full epg though for all channels

will it control the channels through a dvr while controlling the volume of a home theater receiver at the same time? very cool if so, we use a Logitech remote right now, but would be nice having a second remote so to speak

I guess a developer could maybe tie this app in with the smartglass one in some fashion and then boom!!!! Not sure if that is even possible but it would be cool I guess.

Odd. It works for me. I used it with netflix last night watching Lost(I was slow on the draw with this show). But it should work fine. Try unplugging the PC and then setting up another remote.

I can also now confirm that it does turn my xbox on and off and has navigation. Still messing around with it but it works as described above so far...
Nice!!!
Guys I work in the av field as well as home security. It can control anything that has ir if you have the orig remote. You can program the buttons with any ir code, The iphone needs a separate ir blaster and app which is like 80$. Talk about a huge bonus.
It's such a small feature, but yet so incredibly useful. I absolutely love it and have tossed my other remotes in a drawer. It did take me a minute to figure out how to browse the tv guide feature, but once I did it was my new favorite app.

I was trying to play around with Android Beam between my One and EVO 4G LTE, and I noticed that the EVO 4G LTE has an option to turn on Android Beam, but it's not on the One. I know that Google Wallet is disabled as well. Am I missing something, or has this been identified and responded to from Sprint/HTC?
I have been able to transfer data between my nexus 7 and HTC one just by touching them back to back and tapping the screen when it asked me to. And super beam app works as well, but I don't think it's necessary.

Android Beam/NFC only transfers are fairly slow. Great for small things, but not for larger files/videos. I'd recommend the SuperBeam/anything WiFi Direct solution for larger files. I think SuperBeam is a fairly good alternative/copy of Samsung's SBeam.

Is "Hide navigation bar per app" still there?
Hi, I've just bought the LG GFlex today. My D955 comes with JB 4.2.2.
I do really love the feature that let me hide the navigation bar per app, I find it extremely useful.
I'm really curious to know whether this setting is still available into the new KitKat update.
Reading that the LG G Pro 2 having already KitKat doesn't have it, although it has a software nav bar, I'm wondering whether this feature is incompatible with KitKat due to its full screen API.
Those of you who already updated their GFlex can please answer this question?
Thanks
I am also interested in this question.
Some have the 4.4.2, could give us the answer.
Thank you.

I'm curious as to if google wallet tap and pay finally works. I may be completely mistaken, but on KitKat, I don't believe you need the secure element like you did on older android versions. Not having tap and pay is one of my few complaints about this phone.

I just updated my F340K to 4.4 and now I get a google error in each boot, "com.google.services.gapps has halted". I tested several solutions like clear cache, clear google data, also removed my google account from mobile phone and still appears.
anybody with same problem?.
Regards.

I'm replying to myself, the problem comes from swiftkey app (swipe keyboard), after unistall it the error message gone. Maybe a compatibilty issue with KitKat.
I left the solution here for further reference.

Crap. I miss that coming from my old Galaxy Nexus. I figured as soon as I got on a carrier phone, it would be blocked because they have that worthless pile of garbage Isis as their own.
Hi again guys, after update to 4.4 I'm having very heavy battery problems. I lost around 20% of autonomy, I already check startup software without results, anyone in same situation?.

kitkat update, looking good
Got my kitkat update yesterday (I'm in the UK with an f340 model). Things I've noticed so far:
Text does look sharper (different font?).
Home screen now available in portrait.
Better way of handling apps in full screen (before there was a small arrow at the bottom of the screen to show the soft keys if you'd chosen to hide them for selected apps. Now you swipe up to show the soft keys - definite improvement).
You can hide the volume and/or brightness sliders in the notification pull down.
You can now say OK Google when you launch Google by swiping up the home key.
Signal strength, and other information in the status bar at the top are now white/light grey (I've already forgotten if they were green before!)
Love this phone!

I use Handsent with my Xt1080 while stock is disabled. No problems on the latest KK build.
Be sure you are happy with an alternative first then disable.

you cant disable the stock messaging app as its faded out. As long as u have the messaging app you want to use set up as default it be ok.
Some of the services are needed elsewhere, if you remove it you will find some (maybe all?) SMS apps on the play store also leverage those services and they wont work or at least that was my experience. I read some time ago this is also why the roms always have at least the AOSP texting app on board, maybe one of the smart people will come along and set me (us) straight.
I had the G3 and one of the features I loved was the ability to take a screenshot of the entire webpage. Is there anyway we can get that working on the G4?

I think he meant like capture plus on the G2 and G3 using the Lg browser. It had an option to catch entire scrollable webpages. I thought they were integrating it into chrome, but can't find it.
