Hi to all of you Xperia Tablet Z owners.
I come here to present you this nice rom, "Dirty Unicorns" wich is based on AOSP and on now Android 5.1.x
This is absolutely not my work, i just compiled it from DU sources.
So i suggest u to pass by their original threads/profiles for thanking them; and then on their G+ to give them a coffee or more!
Original thread here
About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first created based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean because of curiosity. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device (EVO 3D). Since then many others have joined the project and it has grown a whole lot. We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours and many of our contributors have gone to help other projects and that is ultimately why we do what we do.
Once Jelly Bean was over, we decided in Kitkat to move to a new base which was OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting because it challenged us to see what we could with something different.
With Lollipop, we have moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. That said it has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward.
Few more things we will say is that we don't accept nor ask for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc.....
We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask is that you search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!

Credit and Thanks:
We would like to give thanks to everyone that contributes to the Android community, small or big because every bit counts. Although we can't list each and every contributor within the Android community, we would like to highlight some of the teams and individuals that have made it possible NOT only with just this version of DU but throughout the years because we don't ever want to forget where we came from.
That said, on behalf of the DU team we say THANKS to....

I found only a small bug till now...its for app drawer, when u are portrait mode, if u call it it will be buggy; like huge icons size (sounds like overlay issue)
u just have to turn it landscape and back to portrait it will be ok...
Since this is based on omni wich i am using atm it must have the sound bug.
All custom tab z roms have it but the linaro one. That one is not maintained sadly.
If you could manage to fix the sound issue this could be the best rom available for the tab z.
This has nothing to do with linaro i guess...and about sound issue its same story for XZ,XZR and XZL
Just backing up my tab z now and going to give this a try
Sent from my C6903 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I luv it...so many tweaks/customisations...will try to give weekly support on it cuz its really worth

Just read the solution in general section. It's the core hotswitching\disabling that causes this in all KK roms.
i also heard about going on interactive governor giving less often the issue...

Hi, first of all thanks for this such great ROM.
I tried many Android Custom ROM for Tablet Z, most of them are missing many feature.
I notice that, when I rotate the tablet 180 degree , the nav bar is disappear, the other 3 orientation has no this issue.
I re-enable the nav bar, this issue is not solved.
Any solution?
The reason why I rotate it 180 degree, is because of I want to charge the tablet while working on it, it get stuck, I use a stand (bought) to hold the tablet, so i need to rotate it like that.

No, I did use CM Kernel here, as I don't want to force everyone into using M5 Kernel and it's just 1 more zip to flash if wanted.

Testing the Rom with m5 kernel runs like a charm so far,i will update for battery stats etc soon
Thx all features in one place :fingers-crossed:
Found a bug
Screen unpinning dosent work
and navigation bar colour/tint doesnt change
Looks ok for me now...
Not sure if it relates to the rom or something else.. I was trying to transfer some stuff from my sd card to my internals using my computer. Suddenly it failed half way and the next moment my entire sd card and internal memory got wiped.
Oh ya one more thing there is no option for me to safely unmount OTG storage.
EDIT: Hmm stupid qn but how do I change the wallpaper on my lockscreen? Don't see the option in lockscreen settings.
How to flash recovery through fastboot ?

Thanks, I've been waiting for this as I have been using Carbon KK as a daily driver. I do notice two issues:
Xposed won't install the framework, am I missing something.
Bluetooth is a bit flaky. Last night bluetooth switched itself off and I had to reboot to get it back.
There does not seem to be a way to add a reboot to recovery option in the power meny (maybe I need to get Xposed to work).
Cheers,
Fred

Normal Xposed dont work. Try super alpha xposed (This is compatible for Android 5.1)

My subsequent (to my post) reading of the xposed threads say that it is not working for 5.1 yet (I was just about to post an apology for not checking first). I will search for super alpha.
I will look for the reboot menu in the developer options, thanks.
I think my bluetooth issue could have been a bad pairing with my watch. I re-paired it and things seem to be better.

About: Yes, it's another CM for serranoltexx. I didn't do anything with it, just use last sources and added Ambient Display function. So it's full stock cyanogen with ambient display and doze mode.
Bugs: Same as in official cm12.1
If you are fist time here and don't know how to flash, chek instruction from here.

What is XOSP and how was it born?
XOSP basically which stands for the Xperia Open Source Project was a project originally created by me for the Galaxy S+ (my old device) and the project was created like 2 years ago when that time XOSP wasn't even existing. It was just S+ Reborn. The main idea was to create a custom minimal Xperia based ROM, by including the essential things which a user would normal use from a ROM.
The S+ Reborn became to be a big success because it was eventually ported on different Xperia Phones and some other Samsung devices and from there the XOSP project was founded. From the XOSP Project also the Reborn addons were created featuring with an Aroma Installer. I worked on the project for 2 years by trying always to improve it constantly, eventually for the fact that LP on my Galaxy S+ became to be quite buggy i decided to stop the development and for about half of year the project was left in stanby till i decided to bring it back again on the Zenfone 2 devices.
The project started growing again so with the Release 4 the project will be completely refactored to XOSP
Revisions and Releases
I've got a different type of releasing, i will not provide weekly builds but just let me show you how the revisions and release type works: The revisions refers like to a sort of Nightly thing i mean the changes included in the ROM are small not as a Release one. All the releases got 5 revisions. So the Release is something even bigger right? Hell yeah! When a new Release is released expect many improvements or new features

As this based on CM, it follows mixerpaths, right?
Or does it have follow standard xperia paths for sound and mics?
Is it possible for you to install xperia stock camera?

Xposed is stable because I used xposed in cm rom and worked great without any problems. The main problem is with the rom or kernel itself.I have the cm 13 rom last builded by Chippa_a.That is still a great rom.No problem at all.Thank God I kept the rom as a backup.I hope next stable build will be coming soon.
