Nfc chip on the back cover? - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a huge crack across the back of my phone and need to replace it, as far as im aware the nfc chip is stuck to the back cover, is it just a matter of peeling it off first cover and on to the 2nd?

Take a look on YouTube. I bet there are videos about it. Just search for "xperia z1 disassembly".

Yeah, nfc icon is just a sticker with two pins to connect to the phone. You just peel it off and stick on the new back. Changed my back few days ago, and it works

Mind if I ask how you took the side strips off? I'm going to replace mine soon due to wear and tear, so would like to know how.
EDIT: ok so I found they are glued on, bit of hairdryer and popped off.

I'm pretty sure you answered your own question, go to your dealer and have him dissemble it and clean it for you!
So its not a hardware problem??

It has been said a thousand times... There are several threads about this.. And it is caused by the glue melting when the phone gets to hot..
I sent mine to repair
Please search the forum next time..

Was wondering where I could buy some replacement water indicators? I've seen some for other phones on eBay but none for the Xperia Z
Any help would be appreciated

I think you need a flap kit. Eg:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CDI8V5S/ref=pe_385040_30332200_pe_309540_26725410_item
Thanks for this, Im also looking one
I don't think they will be supplied with a flap kit, as they are attached to the body of the phone, not the flaps.
I am unable to find any for sale, even on rounded.com that have most other spares for our phone.

Maybe buying some large ones from eBay for another phone and cutting them to size?

Strange screen problem

Hi does anyone else have this problem? If you look at the attached pic's you'll see what looks like pressure on the screen causing it to change colour. It doesn't affect the use of the phone, should I send it back for fixing? Would it be covered by warranty (unlocked boot loader) Or should i just put up with it?
Another pic

No I don't have this issue and doubt its the unlocked boot loader. I work in a freezer -28c and sometimes mine does this but as soon as it warms up its fine

That's hardware problem. Take it back to sony center.

Try taking the case off. I've seen tight cases do this on a few phones.

Its not the case, still does it without the case. Might take it into the shop see what they say

This post shows how to remove the old flap. Then just push the new one in the same place.
