Brief history:
Htc One m7 Unlocked International version.
I was running ViperOne 6.2.1 with their stock kernel.
The ROM was giving me some issues listed below probably because of some xposed mudule that wasn't compatible.
I was using the following modules if it is relevant:
1. SwypeBack
2. YouTube AdAway
3. Instagram Downloader
4. CPUTemp in Status Bar
So I was facing some issues:
1. The Camera app wasn't working and showed me a black screen every time i launched it.
2. There were some menus that had white text on a white background which made it difficult for me to read.(This was because I checked the wrong option while installing a theme for the ViperOne from The Venom Hub).
3. Apps like clash of clans would start in landscape but only use half the screen..
So I decided that I would wipe the phone and install the Rom Again to make things fine.
This is what I did:
1. Get into TWRP 2.7.0.0
2. Wipe -> Factory Reset
3. Install -> ViperOne 6.2.1
4. Install -> AdAway hosts.zip
5. Wipe Cache/dalvik
6. Reboot
7. Everything was fine but the phone wasn't contacting google after i'd entered my id and password..(later I realized it was because my Wifi at home wasn't working..)
So I rebooted into the recovery again and did this:
1. Get into TWRP 2.7.0.0
2. Wipe -> Advanced Wipe -> System, Data, Cache, Dalvik
3. Install -> ViperOne 6.2.1
4. Install -> AdAway hosts.zip
5. Wipe Cache/dalvik
6. Reboot
7. Prompted to install SuperSU because phone does not appear to be rooted, so I "Swipe to install SuperSU" and then for a second, I see the log that says "failed to write to System/bin" and then phone reboots.
8. Now the phone is stuck at the "HTC quitely brilliant" bootscreen.
The phone has a Bootloader version hboot 1.56 unlocked via HTCDEV.
I have the htc drivers installed on the pc, I have the android sdk installed to run fastboot commands or adb commands but I am afraid to do anything because I'm not sure what I should be doing right now.
Edit:
I read through this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2386084
Was able to get into the bootloader and got into recovery from there. Restored a nandroid backup from an earlier date. Stock HTC Rom.
Now, When i select Reboot System, the recovery says "your phone does not appear to be rooted, would you like to install SuperSU now?" and i select "DO not install" because I didn't want to get stuck again.
How do I regain root access now?
.
So I rebooted into the recovery again and did this:
1. Get into TWRP 2.7.0.0
2. Wipe -> Advanced Wipe -> System, Data, Cache, Dalvik

You have wiped the system? it means there is no ROM on your device currently. Flash Viper again (if you have on the SD), if not use adb sideload function ADB sideload help from ARHD

I identified why I was stuck at bootloop. It was so simple I don't know how I missed that..
I was installing viperone 6.2.1.. the 6.2.1 was never released as a full Rom. It was a mini OTA update. So the phone didn't have a complete Rom I stalled..
Fixed by flashing viperone 6.2.0. That's what I was supposed to flash in the first place, I forgot that the 6.2.1 was a mini OTA and flashed that initially and freaked out when it didn't boot. XD

Downloaded update (256mb) seems to install goes to TWRP bootscreen, select reboot, go back to settings>update and its still showing the update as if it never installed. Do I have to flash the update using TWRP manually? Am I getting this because I use TWRP and should I change to CW 10?
Already downloaded 1.31 stock rooted rom image (900mb) just encase.
answer?

you have to have stock recovery, stock rom, and bootloader relocked.
Download the rooted rom here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2368907 and flash in twrp. The firmware would be flashed in fastboot htcruu

No, flashing the rom won't erase the data. Usually when moving between rooms, it's a good idea to wipe data anyway. I did not wipe data moving from the previous stock rooted rom to this update.
The firm doesn't touch the data either.

That is correct....
No joy, TWRP gave me an error on flashing the zip and then said I wasn't rooted. I slid the slider to the right to re-root and I'm now stuck at the HTC quietly brilliant screen............
When I try to boot into recovery the TWRP screen flashes by and I'm at the HTC screen again.

In a cmd window and while in bootloader try this
type "fastboot erase cache" without the quotes and press enter
then type "fastboot reboot" without the quotes and press enter
once rebooted type "adb reboot recovery" without the quotes and press enter
Hopefully that will get you going
Shoot me a PM if you have more questions
Disregard the PM, had some brain vapor lock, Into recovery an restoring from a backup.

So, where did I go wrong? When I tried to flash the stock rom TWRP gave me an error on the zip (Sprint_HTC_One_1.31.651.2_Stock_Rooted). The reboot got me into the loop.
I need help with this as well. I'm rooted with s-off (not moonshine method) and after flashing the stock_rooted zip in TWRP, everything appears to work until after it displays the "updating android apps" window, then it just hangs on "finishing boot". Do I need to re-flash my custom rom as well prior to rebooting? I'm using tranquil rom by the way.

I did that but my baseband just reverts back to the previous one, which is why I thought I could just flash this over my pre-existing rom. Should I just flash the firmware? I'm only looking to update my radios.

Have you tried doing a full wipe in recovery, including system, then formatting so that it wipes the OS aswell ... Then try doing a clean install using your OTG and see if you still have any issues. Are you using TWRP or CWM btw? I often do what I mentioned to do a clean install but I use TWRP, I assume you can do the same in CWM though.
I don't understand what you mean with the frequent mentions of "date". You could always try running the RUU if it's available for your region/carrier and see if that resolves it.

Hey guys, long time lurker and now first time poster. Shame it has to be something very stupid.
So anyways, I wanted to flash the latest CM10.2 Unofficial build so I did the usual and downloaded the zip & gapps to my phone. But upon wiping my phone via TWRP I accidentally left the wipe userdata part checked and ... well now I have no OS installed as well as no zip's :/
I have TWRP installed so I thought why not sideload it, however when I go to advanced -> adb sideload it never starts up. This is the log:
Updating partition details...
Starting ADB sideload feature...

And it just stays there
I know that my ADB works as I have S-OFF & unlocked the bootloader and flashed the latest 1.54.0000 hboot so I can definitely use it, I just don't understand why it doesn't let me sideload for some reason.
Either way, I have full access to fastboot & TWRP recovery so i'm hoping this is a pretty simple thing to fix ... right?
Can anybody point me to the right direction?
Details:
No OS installed.
Access to TWRP & fastboot.
S-OFF, Modified Hboot 1.54.0000 (SuperCID) & Unlocked bootloader.
Windows 8 64-bit, drivers all work.
Latest SDK with all the binaries installed.
P.S. when I connect and try and use adb devices it doesn't recognise my device, and the cmd window gives the following when I try the sideload command:
Error: device not found.

Sounds like a driver issue to me but it doesn't make sense that the drivers would suddenly stop working ???

Tried that already, same issue in not detecting the device. I'm downloading these drivers in a hope to fix something.
Thanks for the reply
EDIT:

TWRP is much better for people who know what they are doing. There are more options and also a built in file manager. Also, the wipe button in TWRP wipes the 3 main partitions at once (data/cache/dalvik), so he must have actually selected internal sdcard from the advanced menu, and I have no idea why he would do that...
Doing the slider is all anyone needs to do in twrp to wipe yet I read more posts about people wiping with twrp than any other problem in these forums
I want to start this off with that i really don't know anything about ROMs and flashing and stuff like that, so just hold that in mind. I am pretty sure that I have the international version of the HTC One since I live in Sweden.
Ok, so here is what happened: I rooted my phone bu using TWRP 2.6.3.3 and SuperSU 1.91. The reason i wanted to root my phone was to be able to use an app that you can only use if you have rooted your phone. When i rooted my phone and downloaded the app it said that i needed to uppdate my busybox so i downloaded a busybox installer from the appstore. When i tried to uppdate my busybox to the latest version it wouldnt work for some reason so i was going to re-root my phone with Superuser instead. However when I couldnt drag the Superuser folder into my sd card i started messing around in twerp recovery and being an idiot as i am i did a "Format data" in TWRP, when i did that obviusly everything got removed and now i don't have an os the only things i can do is booting into bootloader and TWRP otherwise my device is stuck on the HTC bootscreen. Also when i connect my phone to my computer nothing pops up so im guessing that my computer can't recognise it anymore.
I have using google but i couln't find anything. I will be monitoring this thread like a hawk so please help me.
Edit: Here is more information: I have S-on, it also says ***tampered*** and ***unlocked***
Edit2:If you need any more information for helping me please let me know and ill get it.
TL;DR: Rooted HTC One with SuperSU, Formatted data, no os, need help.

Don't panic mate, it's ok you didn't break anything.
Ok, so you can go into twrp. That's enough
All you have to do is installing a custom ROM and you will have your phone back.
Follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183023 to install Android revolution HD 51 (4.4.2 android)
Since you can't access the internal SD from your computer, you will have to Sideload it. Don't worry nothing so difficult:

So: -Download the file from the first link.
- sideload it into your TWRP
- install it from twrp

You are welcome! Last raccomandations, when you flash Android rev. remember to select the wipe option in Aroma installer.
Also at the end of the installation press on "wipe davilk cache"
If you encounter bootloop do a "fastboot erase cache".
Also, remember that the first boot after flashing it takes long time (even 10 mins) and it's seems stuck on the htc logo but it's not
Good luck!
Solved
my phone may be bricked because of something wrong I did, I copied Nandroid backup to pc, then relocked bootloader, then unlocked it, the phone turned on normally and I proceeded to setting it up, I copied Nandroid backup back, then booted into recovery and restored from backup, the phone didn't complete booting and got stuck on HTC logo, I waited but nothing changed, then I did the worst thing, I wiped data using TWRP, now my phone still stuck at HTC LOgo, I can boot into bootloader and TWRP.
what can I do?

Take a look here: Development forum
Optionally you can use a RUU fot your device - 4.19.401.5 - based on your Bootloader info. you can find it above as well.
RUU wil restore all settings to stock (including locked bootloader / S-ON).
Or use your current nandroid, but Advanced wipe everything in TWRP - except for your "SD card" (external storage)

Don't worry. Phone is bricked when it does not turn on or gives the qhsusb_dload error.
Are you using TWRP 2.6.3.3 or 2.6.3.4 - even tough those are not the newest, they have no issues at all. If you search for error "error executing updater binary in zip" on XDA, most of the solutions were to change the recovery.
I suggest to try the latest CWM recovery and see if that works.
