[Q] Bilingual dialer lost after Sense 6 update - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone, ever since last week's update, the T9 stock Sense dialer will only predict contacts in latin characters. I do very much miss the bilingual prediction of Sense 5/5.5 . My question is, does this behavior apply for everyone else or do I need to configure it in a specific way (that I obviously haven't figured out yet)?

Have you installed the ARHD rom? If so, try the SD rom. Had the same issue and solved it that way.

Message thread too long!

The more messages I receive from someone, the longer it takes to open the thread (and the more it lags when typing a response). So my question is: is it possible to make it load only a couple of messages, when accessing someone's message-thread?
Because I'd rather not delete them to make it go faster..
Tnx
What ROM, etc.?
Same problem for me using the latest stock rom
I ask what ROM because there are different fixes per device.
I'm not sure if there is a Topaz fix.
I've attached the Pure fix.
Oh right sorry i misunderstood, mine is topaz. Is there no point trying this fix on mine then?
Thanks

Come to think of it, the differences are prevalent on cooked ROMs where they are based on different devices. Since you are on stock Topaz ROM, it should work.

It did not work on mine. I'm using original 6.5 swedish and I'm having the same problem. is there a fix for this?
I'm using the latest Dutch (NL) stock rom.
Is there no way to change a registry value that would make the message thread only load a few messages?

Hi hi. same prob here too...... I'm using
'HTC Touch Diamond2_WM6.5_RUU_Topaz_S_hTC_Asia_WWE_2.17.707.1_Radio_Sign_Topaz_61.44tc.25.32_4.49.25.17_Ship'

Unrooting Questions!!!

Hey i am asking these questions on beahalf of fellow rooters
1)By rooting the phone, we are still using Stock rom except that we have SUPERUSER PERMISSIONS already, is that true?
2)To unroot our phone, run RUU roms:
RUU_Legend_HTC_WWE_2.03.405.3_Radio_47.39.35.09_7.08.35.21_release_130330_signed.exe
or...
RUU_Legend_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.31.707.2_Radio_47.26.35.04_7.05.35.26L_release_121965_signed.exe
depending on ur location, asia or other countries.
3)Before i rooted my phone, my firmware is 1.31.707.3
but the RUU rom as stated above is "..WWE_1.31.707.2_Ra.."
is it the same? if not, how do i get my default rom back?
4)After i have rooted my HTC legend, there would be a Stock OTA update by HTC to Android 2.2 froyo. Will the OTA update still take place, or do i have to unroot the phone first?
5)Is there a way to backup my current stock rom: 1.31.707.3 ? if yes, how?
Thank You
Knnhzx

well on those i can answer now:
No1: if u use the stock ruu rom u will NOT have superuser permissions, however there is an "Almost stock" Rom based on this RUU that i currently run and it's really smooth and fast and i have alot more RAM free however i have a problem with facebook contacts so my contact pictures wont sync and i can't link fb contacts to my google contacts. (But i can't really say it is because of the rom or if it is fb that has made some changes)
No4: when u use the "almost stock" Rom the OTA updates are disabled, if they are disabled on the non-root RUU i can't really say, but i don't think they are disabled on that one
Ok thank you for answers
If I understand well, If I want use app2sd I must use a rooted stock ROM, I can not use the HTC stock ROM.
I will search more informations about future OTA update from HTC (in particulary Froyo update) and may be I will try root for my legend.
Regards
BTW, any new information on the release date for Froyo from HTC w/Sense?

Actually no.. u need the Rom that they have modded and call "almost stock" and choose the one with apps2sd in it.. OR u need to wait for the HTC stock Froyo update..

not any official news, HTC said "in the beginning of Q3"
many speculations have been posted regarding what they mean but many people say that it will come in september or october.. we can't do anything but wait for info from HTC or for the update itself.
Ok thanks. I'm very happy with the Legend, so no rush updating it to Froyo.

[Q] Android 2.1 to 2.3.3

Hi, i was wondering, if my phone is running andoid version 2.1, is it possible to directly update to version 2.3.3 using the link and method below or do i have to update to another android version before going to 2.3.3?
Code:
http://www.intomobile.com/2011/02/24/how-to-manually-update-your-nexus-one-to-android-2-3-3/
Thanks in advance
If you're still on 2.1 you probably have a carrier specific ROM, in which case you have the same answer you got the last time you asked:

[Q] Need help with Google Edition ROM issue

Right so here is my issue... I recently flashed the Google Edition ROM for the htc one which i got from this site. Everything works fine, the only issue i have is upon booting the ROM for the first time, when i first used the keyboard (to enter my WiFi password on the set-up screen) i got the message Google keyboard has stopped working. The keyboard actually works fine though, my issue is that im stuck with the Google Hindi input method, there is no English input or English dictionary so it doesn't auto correct words for me either. Can anyone help me? I just want the stock android keyboard like the Google play edition should come with.

I read that the keyboard crashes if you are non US but how do i solve it? Is it because the Play Edition is US only and i need to change my phone to become a US model number or something along those lines?
I believe so

[Q] New to rooting and flashing roms

Hi everyone sorry if this question has already been answered,
So I have a HTC One M7 and I want to install stock android or sense 6 (to remove my carrier boot and pre-loaded crapware), I still haven't decided because I'm unsure of some things. First of all if I do install stock android or sense 6 will I still be able to update to the latest version of android or sense 6 from the rom or do i need to periodically flash my rom to the latest version?
Sir,
Please wait until mods will move this thread to the device specific forum for One M7.

If you choose a custom rom that have ota update support then its possible to use OTA to update your custom rom. Some other custom rom will require to flash the new version from a custom recovery to update it.
i.e Cyanogenmod can be update from ota updates.
you wont be able to use official ota update from HTC unless you revert everything back to stock which isnt really important if you want to use custom roms.

If you have posted help when this post was still in the xda assist forum, that's why it was removed. Only members with the "xda assist" status are allowed to answer questions in that forum.
thanks heaps! Also what exactly is ota?

ota = over the air. ota update is when the update is pushed directly to your phone and you get a notification that there is a new update to install (like on official HTC roms or on custom roms that support that feature)
WHen there is no ota update capability, you won't be notified of new versions automatically and you'll need to flash the updated rom using a custom recovery.

If you want a custom Rom close to stock look, take a look at ARHD. It's easy to use and the dev is great.

Hello everyone, im using a htc one m7 (wls) sprint. I upgraded the device via usb from android version 4.2.2 to 5.1 and since then my imei, baseband, UICC profile, PRL, and profile has been unknwon. The phone doesnt detect SIM. I'm in Nigeria where i cant find the sprint carrier network shop or oulet. Can anyone please help me out? i've tried using sim unlock helper by viper boy, still it doesnt work, maybe because there's no imei/baseband. I've also tried other OS including custom roms none works, the phone bricks (showing a white screen with htc written and then reboots on its own). The phone has been down since october 2017 till date still working on it but nothing positive comes out.

You probably flashed a GSM rom to the device.
You should mostly be looking in the Sprint m7 forum for appropriate roms and specific help with that model of the m7.
