WaterProof Cover or sachet for M8? - One (M8) Accessories

I need to protect my M8 from some sprays of water. Is there any (cheap) sachet that brings water restistant feature to the One M8? I know that it's IPX3 rated, but i don't want to risk... i need it for the last day of school!

are there any waterproof cases for the m7? I couldnt find any. doesnt seem like they would make one for our m8's either

Zip-Lok Freezer bag. If you're really paranoid, double bag it. Key there is Freezer bag, and not sandwich bag, those are thinner.

Really Good Idea!
Inviato dal mio HTC One_M8 utilizzando Tapatalk

Honestly, when I go to the beach, if I've got a bluetooth speaker for music, I just use a thin zip-lok sandwich bag. Keeps off the sand, and any water on my hands from the ocean. And its thin enough to still use the touchscreen just fine. Dunno if the freezer bags will still let you use the touchscreen. Probably. The M8 screen is pretty sensitive.

slippery diamond

ok how many of you have dropeed your yet?
mine shoot of my fingers today while walking my dog
luckly mine was in a Crystal clear hard plastic case...
which broke but saved the phone
have ordered a silicon case for it
had one on my trinity and never dropped it once
you have been warned...
the diamond is one slippery bugger!
one time, slipped out the htc leather case, barely any marks. i was quite supprised when the device hit the pavement, it sounded soo solid and didnt fly apart like every other phone when its dropped.

I created a safety net in case I drop the Diamond.
I use an invisible fishing wire to connect the Diamond (through the lanyard hole), to my jeans' belt hole.
The wire is 1 feet, which gives all the extension I need for comfortable usage.
I have a BT headset so I don't need it to reach my ear.
It's really slippery. For this reason, I'm holding the Diamond differently than any other phone when I'm carrying it around. I always have my index finger holding the top while I have the rest in my palm. It's tough to describe, but it's the only way to stop my salary from hitting the pavement.
Dropped it twice. Nothing happened to it. Will order a case for it soon though

Should just blame the crystal case for slipperyness...

Hahahah cooool!!!
Cheers boys (Saturday, time for beer)
Got mine on a long lanyard around my neck after a couple of small drops to a carpeted floor form the sofa! It is light enough not to break my neck.
I think a bungee elastic would be better than fishing line, so I've made this one.
Now when I drop it, it springs back up to my ear, and I can carry on talking
I'm also working on a small app which uses the g-sensor to detect if it is falling to the ground at 150 mph, and if so it will automatically text my supplier for a new phone to be sent out, and all my contacts to say that I'll be unavailable for a few days.
mine slipped from my hands but luckily before it hits the ground, i held on to the phone strap i attached onto it.. saved my heart from shattering together with the jewel.. keke
I applied a fullbody InvisibleShield, it ain't slippery anymore.

I always "think" before I pull out the Jewel.
Hell I even carry a Gauze rag so when I plaze the Diamond on the table (face down(gsens) automaticly sleeps the Jewel and then S2U2 kicks in
Few decices can pull this offff!!!

Water resistant casing

Hello,
is there any water resitent casing available for the X1? Is should be just as big to fit around the device. Also it should be possible to reach the upper button to turn it on and i should be able to use the touchscreen.
Similar to the BoxIt cases but more fitting for the X1 and smaller.
haha
dream on baby ...
that is nearly impossible in my opninon.
There are silicon Cases but the wont make it water proof... splasg proof if you're lucky.
sry ... don think so
see if this helps

ive used aquapacs before, the soft ones work well, the 1st generation hardshell phone one i watched someone demonstrate how well it didnt float as advertised, thankfully theyd remembered to tie the case on to the canoe...
i used a soft one for 3 years with my garmin ique, really good, salt eventually ruined it.
now when i need to keep my x1 dry i put it inside 1 or 2 ziplock sandwich bags
Sandwich bags sounds good. They just need to be Xperia sized. I dont need it to float..just protection from hard rain.

Anybody done Drop Test on Note?

Just curious to know!
accidentally, from 2ft onto concrete with no case on. There is a slight scrath on the metal surround, other than that no damage at all.

Thanks for the update. Your answer is some what helping me
I had a confuse as the size it too large!
Accidently from 2ft onto carpet with a gel case on - it was fine
Dropped it like 20 times on various surfaces (including concrete) already, w/o case. Got some minor scratches on the "metal" frame, but even that is only slightly visible. Other than that: works like a charm + no scratches in the display.
Well different people have had different experiences. I have never dropped the phone yet... (Touches Wood)

Been there, done that. Screen cracked. Didn't shatter though. Disappointed in the quality of Note. Charged US$100 to change the whole screen including the HD-SAMOLED.

Same here. some scratches on the plastic rim
Bit of a shame it's ask plastic would have been move if the trim was metal to help protect it without a case.
I dropped it from like one foot, fell out of my pants got a mark on the trim, which I totally thought was metal.. Bit disappointed. First Samsung device, HTC definitely kick Samsungs arse in build quality/durability which is needed in a handset.

no it cant be dropped . i droped it from 1 feet and got small scratches on the blue surrounding but thats all.
I must confess I have done the same involuntary experiment, same result. The fall was slowed by the headphone cable and the phone landed vertically and then falled on it's back. Result: scratches on the bottom metal and a very small one on plastic back. Screen intact.

My kid disobeyed the Golden Rule of not touching my phone and dropped it from about 3 feet. Surprisingly, an angel swooped in and grabbed it, raised it where he can't reach and waited for me to retrieve it. Seriouly though, is there a way to get warranty on this phone? I bought it from eBay a week ago but it didn't give me an option to purchase a US warranty.

I dropped mine today It was in my jeans pocket, and when i got out of the car, it dropped straight onto the concrete with no case on. I screamed when i saw that it dropped with the screen DOWN.
BUT, the screen didn't get ONE SINGLE scratch! The only thing that got a couple of scratches was the bezel. Nothing major, but i'm happily using the flip case now
Dropped it once from my bike at around 1m high. The silicone case took all the shock, so great investment

Dropped from 1,5 m on CONCRETE !!!
Fortunately. the silicone case did it's job.
Not a single scratch. Phone untouched

Metal can get scratched specially aluminum when dropped on concrete or asphalt. Have you seen the latest HTC phones? They're all made out of plastic.
As long as there are no flexes in the chassis where it actually counts, i couldn't careless about the usage of plastic

Metal makes the phone more stable and screen to easy to brake because on a fall the power from the drop goes to the screen without looking a strength front the metal bending or braking, my English isn't so good to explain more a static solution about the thema. Just check iphone cracking display because of it's metal body. And to answer your question, no I don't think you have space to put plastic between to absorb the fall. If a fellow with static experience and better English could explain them if this isn't enough.
Thank you

How did you get in your jacket pocket? That's a huge jacket or you're a tiny little man.
Im not small i lm 6 foot 1 inch 200 so im not small must be small pockets
Skinny jeans?
never had an issue with my N6 in my jean's pockets or my jacket pockets, although some jackets are made differently with shallower pockets than others, if they were shallow, you must be crazy to put it in there if you knew it'd potentially fall out, just saying

I've never trusted my Jacket Pockets. I never put my phone in my back pocket. Always in my front Right Pocket Face Down. I will say this the few times i wear jeans that aren't really loose the nexus 6 can be uncomfortable bending over, but in Dress slacks or Khaki shorts which i wear 90% of the time I have no issues.
It usually slides out of my pockets of my gym pants, especially when I am on the leg press. Now I have to put my phone on the side, and pray i remember to pick it up afterwards. My N5 didnt have an issue like this.

[Q] Nexus 6 Bend. Metal frame & Screen problems.

Hi everyone, first of all I have to say that I donĀ“t speak English very well but I will try to do my best.
I wanted to share what recently I discover in my Nexus 6 unit, hopefully someone can tell me if they are having the same issue.
I have never dropped my cellphone, the mayority of the days I carry my Nexus 6 in the pocket of my jacket, and ocassionaly in the front pocket of my pants, never in the back pocket.
Currently Im in conversation with the Motorola support team, I hope they can replace my unit, but I want to know what do you think.
*** The texts in the pictures are in Spanish, because I send that ones to Motorola, but basically they show the curvature of the cellphone in the left metal frame side and the screen at its center point.
No offense but... it looks like you sat on it. Without some type of force metal is not going to bend itself.
Did you anger a girlfriend or wife?

Haha no I dont.
I know that it sounds weird but as I said before I only carry it in my front pocket a few times for the fear of the Iphone 6P bendgate and look :c, I never had my N6 in the back pocket, it couldt fit anyways.
Also If I have sat on it as you say, maybe my screen and corners should ended like the other bendgate N6 post.
It's a curved phone. Your screen doesn't look bent.
I saw this phone brand new and it does have a curve to it. Your phone is fine

That's the normal curvature of the phone. Mine looks just like that and it is brand new, never used. That was done on purpose to make the phone more ergonomically comfortable if you were ever to hold it to your ear to talk on the phone.
It does looked bent on the second last pic to me.
at first it looked fine but on the side shots you can clearly see the metal frame buckled out where the bend occurred .

I don't see it, but this phone is quite frankly too big to put in your front pocket and sit down unless your pants are very loose.
If you are wearing tight clothing, idk what anyone expects if they put it in their front pants pockets and sit down.

Never has any issues with this phone in my front pocket and my jeans aren't baggy. If you're a hipster with skinny jeans, you'll likely have a problem.
