Before updating to 2.7, I used TWRP 2.6.3.1 at my 7" kindle Fire HD (Firmware version 7.4.8). But after updating, it doesn't work. It cannot backup with the following error message:
"E:Storage partition '\\TWRP\backup\D025A0A0249411F2' not found".
I download the zip file from "Mirror 1 : Download (Goo.im)" at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2218796
Md5sum is 785f40ec03c2e10a60bb8dfe4e4f1174.
Please help me.
Um I'm assuming the first part was suppose to say /sdcard/
Try flashing the twrp zip. Double check that data is mounted and browsable.

Thank you very much.
It is ok by following steps:
tap 'Mount'
tap 'Storage:Internal Storage
select 'Internal Storage'
tap 'ok'
Then I got a backup and when I tap 'Restory', it can be found at the list.
But, for the backup files by 2.6.3.1, I can not find them at the list, although both files(by 2.6.3.1 and 2.7.0.0) can be found in same folder /sdcard/TWRP/BACKUPS/.
Is there any wrong? Please help me.
I wonder if this has to do with the newer TWRP switching to SELinux. For some reason this has happened to a few people when flashing from 2.6 to 2.7.0.0 TWRP. Your old backup may still be viewable through ES File Explorer after you flash a ROM and it may be gone.

It's because idk if you noticed but that number in the backups folder is your serial number, older versions of twrp I guess didn't read the serial and defaulted to 000000000000 as the folder, just move your backups into the new folder it created and twrp should recognize them.

"fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" run command from parent file of ADB rename the img from cwm6 to recovery.img next time dont encrypt unless you absolutely need to, even then just save it to a passworded zip file and change the extension to something seemingly innocent and at most if anyone finds it they will think its a corrupt file

USB OTG Info:
USB OTG will show up as external_sd. If external_sd is not mounting, reboot recovery. You must enter recovery with usb already inserted.
Installation:
Unlock bootloader at http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/
Uncheck fastboot in the rom in power options
Turn phone completely off
Boot into HBOOT>Fastboot
Inside of fastboot. Erase cache. Use command "fastboot erase cache"
Use command "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"

To gain root on stock rom. Flash recovery in fastboot then flash this inside of recovery. There are two root programs. Superuser and SuperSU. Both are listed.

I tried adb pushing to /sdcard while running the recovery image, but it still refused to flash from there because it would fail trying to mount /sdcard. adb sideload was the only method that actually worked. Unless I'm missing something...

Yes, I have successfully rooted my First with the recovery and Superuser zip from the first post. Flash the recovery and reboot into it, then choose install zip from sideload, and then have your phone connected to the PC with the superuser zip, and run `adb sideload path/to/Superuser.zip`. Once that completes, reboot the phone, and you should have full root access.

Since the recovery currently can't mount the sdcard partition, any attempt to flash from sdcard fails. The only method that works afaik is the option to flash via sideload, which requires the phone to be attached to a PC running adb. I'm not certain, but it sounds like this would also prevent the CyanogenMod built-in update mechanism to fail as well...

Is there a way to just make a TWRP backup on my old phone with a broken screen, load it onto the new phone and do a restore?

What he is saying, is that if the versions of OS and firmware is exactly the same on both phones, compare fastboot getvar all, then a TWRP nandroid backup from the working phone could be copied (adb sideload) to the other phone and restored from TWRP .
sideload
Hi,
I realize this is an old thread, but doesn't adb sideload expect a zip file? All of my TWRP backups are folders containing 11 files of various sizes, I don't see a way to specify a zip backup, so what am I missing here?

In this case you would use adb push.
Code:
adb push "nameofbackupfolder" /sadcard/TWRP/BACKUPS/YOURSERIALNO"/"nameofbackupfolder
This will create the necessary folder in your twrp backups and copy each of the files into the folder :good:

so ive messed with this before and have hard bricked devices doing so but those devices diddnt have custom recovery but i was able to increase the data partition size by approximately 500MB (see screenshot below) im working on a recovery zip that wll do it and seeing wherelse i can pull stuff from lol. i plan to future update it so that the system is 1GB which is about all you really need and shrink partitiojnns that have more space then they ned down to like 5MB to keep the number scheme the same
Beta 1 zip is bad i am just goinmg to make a windows bat file that will do it lol

if you want to keep your rom and data you will need and external sd card that is big nough to hold a backup of system and data.

What about restoring original partition scheme? Is this possible via kdz tools (or what's called)? Is kdz reparitioning device?
Or it has to be done manually (then we have repart making it EXACTLY the same, every single byte?
@demonslayer12349, your script is a little strange.
Code:
@adb shell su -c "mount -o remopunt rw, /"
It should be:
Code:
@adb shell su -c "mount -o remount rw, /"
isn't it?
Then another thing. You delete 4 partitions and create only three.
For D410 partition 31 is "eksst". It is 0.5mb only. What is the reason to delete it?
Or the script is device-specific?

So this one isn't working when I flash it with TWRP ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-510/development/virgin-sprint-htc-desire-510-stock-t2961521 ). Flash the kernel then restore.
Also, you don't flash that zip of stock. Unzip on your computer and drop the files in the TWRP/BACKUPS/FAJBLAHBLAHBLAH folder and restore in TWRP. You may not have to flash the kernel first because the boot.img should be backed up.
Did now know all this. Thanks for the help, I'm going to get started on this now that I got off work. Also, not obligatory, but can you explain how that works?

Download the zip and the kernel img
Unzip in Windows/Linux
cd to folder where the folder you unzipped is located
In a file explorer on your phone navigate to wherever you make TWRP backups to (ie. /sdcard or /sdcard2 )
In /sdcard or /sdcard2 there will be a folder named TWRP, tap it
In TWRP there will be a folder named BACKUPS, tap it
In BACKUPS there will be a folder with your devices serial number (eg. FA4AJSR24392), tap it, this is where you need to place the folder from the zip
Open cmd/terminal and move the folder to the device by executing
Code:
adb push [B][COLOR="DarkRed"]"2014-12-01--07-42-35 KOT49H release-keys"[/COLOR][/B] "/sdcard/TWRP/BACKUPS/[B]<device serial #>[/B]/[B][COLOR="DarkRed"]2014-12-01--07-42-35 KOT49H release-keys[/COLOR][/B]/"
Now move the kernel over by executing
Code:
adb push HTC-Desire-510-Modded-Kernel-v1.img /sdcard/HTC-Desire-510-Modded-Kernel-v1.img
Reboot to bootloader by executing
Code:
adb reboot recovery
In TWRP tap Install and find HTC-Desire-510-Modded-Kernel-v1.img
Tap it and swipe to flash/install
Afterwards back out to the main menu
Now tap Restore and restore 2014-12-01--07-42-35 KOT49H release-keys
I thought rb had backed up the boot.img along with system but that backup is only a system backup so you will have to flash the kernel first and then restore the stock.
