There is a tutorial on how to flash the Sprint variant to PP. Not sure if the same applies to the VZW edition, but probably.
There are a couple of caveats, however. First, you need a USED 4g sim card - otherwise the phone will constantly notify you that its missing SIM or not activated....
And second, you will not get 4G on PP. Limited to 3G EVDO only.
Good Luck. Let us know if you are successful.

I haven't tried yet because I don't have a 4G sim card I'm not using. Also I'm waiting for a response from this forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...int-moto-x-to-page-plus-t2732342/post53445822
I'm going to try and track down a used 4G sim card this week and I'll try and let you know.

I was under the impression that the Verizon LTE phones had their CDMA authentication modified to use the SIM card for authentication as opposed to the IMEI as in non LTE phones. They also modified their 3G network to use SIM based authentication for 3G data as opposed to IMEI. If this is true it would prevent you from accessing the 3G CDMA based data network because the phone would be passing SIM based authentication for data and the network was expecting IMEI based authentication. In theory you could flash a different radio firmware if you can find it to correct this... but currently as Verizon is the only carrier of this phone I do not believe there are any alternative radio firmwares available. Community....please correct me if i am wrong but this is my understanding.

You can use QPST to set it to NV only.
You can attempt to use QPST, however it would not accept the change. I did it using cdma workshop 2.7

the droid razr and droid 4 are basicly exactly the same phone. I used the info in this post (and the links in post #5) to switch my droid 4 over to pageplus. I have had 3g data, MMS and talk all working fine for a couple months now.

Need Help
Is everything the same on the Droid 4? I'll pay somebody to do it for me! I'll pay to ship the phone or whatever. I never have too great of luck with the CDMA Workshop or QPST. I DO know how to access the User activation and everything on the phone with the ##PROGRAM then press send and put in the 000000. Any help would be greatly appreciated from anybody. I just got my Droid 4 in the mail today and called Page Plus to activate only to have them tell me LTE couldnt be flashed to Page Plus. What if I called them and used the IMEI and dropped off the last number? Would that work if I just called them and gave them that? HELP! LOL!

Im about to order a Straight Talk AT&T sim + first month.. for SURE this works fine on a verizon moto x?
Do you have to manually input APN settings, or does it just work after you pop the SIM card?
Thank you.

Hey there. I got this new moto x and have been holding off on is upgrades until I can get my bearings on what I need to do to ensure fully unlocked and customizable phone in the future as I caught wind of issues doing so post kk. Twice now my Sim has stopped working. Wondering if this was a known issue or if I need to investigate prior to visit the warranty
Thanks in advanced for any feedback.

Just understand that if you really have an XT1053 on ATT, it doesn't support all the bands ATT uses for LTE so you'll fall back to HSPA

Interesting. On 4g now and thought I checked for compatibility.
My issue is that I drop all communication. Not that I step down in speed.

Right, the missing LTE bands shouldn't cause total loss of service.
For ATT there is 4G HSPA and 4G LTE.. not sure how the GSM varients report each. And the XT1053 does support the primary LTE band ATT uses.
Hey there,
I had the same issue. Got a XT1058 and am using it on T-Mobile. I kept loosing signal completely. Sim Card not recognized.
The problem I found is that if you are using a sim card that has been cut to fit the tray will cause signal loss issue.
Went to T-Mobile got a new sim card and been using it without a problem.
Let us know if this helps you.

Hi everyone. I currently maintain the bounty thread for the Moto X. As I am unsure of its future I have ordered a Moto X Pure Edition. I am currently an unlimited VZW customer, however, I am wondering if what you guys think I should do.
I could keep the unrooted VZW Moto X or use the Pure Ed. with only VZW LTE coverage. What are your thoughts?
Come on really?

And why would you order the pure and not know if you were going to use it anyway. Maybe ask this before placing the order.

Upon bootup it shows LTE and then briefly afterwards it shows no network. Guess the decision has been made for me.

Lol at all the replies
I've seen similar posts to this, but none with any kind of solid answer so far. I have a chance to get a XT1095 for pretty cheap tomorrow and would like a clear answer to the question of it not only working on Cricket and also get LTE? If not will it work on HSPA? Thx in advance, I'm kind of confused by all this and would love to hear from somebody that has or had this particular model on Cricket. I'm coming from a Nexus 5 which was just plug n play with my Cricket SIM so that's what has me a bit lost here.
You shouldn't have any problems with it. I see they have a GSM sim. As long as that's the one you have you should get LTE.

Yeah the guy had it on T-Mobile so its definitely GSM compatible. I'm mostly just wondering about getting the LTE/data to work. I saw an article online that said the XT1095 had less bands than the other variants. Either way thanks for replying so quickly!
I also read though that Motorola was planning on adding the missing bands via update but can't find if that update was already pushed or not.
The band issue was with kit kat it has been updated with 5.0 and 5.1. You should get LTE and if you don't it will probably be because you have to set up the APN yourself which is easy.
Sent from my XT1095 using Tapatalk
Now that's exactly what I was wanting to know, TY! I'm very familiar with how to change APN's so it looks like I'm good to go!
I'm using my XT 1095 on cricket and I'm very pleased. It is LTE compatible but be advised to use the APN settings on cricket website. As long as you are aware of crickets speed limitations, you will be pleased.
