[Q] Resurection remix Rom GTi 9295 - Galaxy S 4 Active Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello all,
i was wondering if anyone is experiencing problems with a red rectangle on Resurection Remix Rom 4.4.2 running on gti 9295 (s4 active LTE version).
it's like everytime the CPU gets a push (event or anthg) there 's a red rectangle that flashes on the edge of the screen.
i have seen that issue with other user on XDA but no one posted a fix or a how-to...
Can anyone share his wisdom please as i have been using this rom for a couple of days... running smoothly, fast and full of customization tweaks... of course screen recording is still not working and other small issues because it s still an unofficial release.
...
thank you guys/girls!

I have and it bugged me forever until i found a fix. you have to download build prop editor and add two lines
persist.sys.strictmode.disable and make the value 1
persist.sys.strictmode.visual make the value 0
i dont know how it looks but dots between each word and no spaces. then reboot your phone and under settings developer options towards the bottom is an option for strict mode make sure it is unchecked.

Thank you for this.... It s working perfectly...

No torch app in CM9

So I got CM9 stable working on the Galaxy S - it's brilliant. But it's missing the torch app, and in the widget selection screen, the option to have a button for the LED flash is greyed out.
I have a Nexus S which, after updating to RC2 a few days ago, also is missing the torch. It originally had it in the nightly I was running previously. Is this some weird design decision by the CyanogenMod team? How can I get that functionality in the stable ROM?
EDIT: I am a moron. Feel free to delete this thread mods. Or leave it here as a testament to my stupidity. In my defence, I was installing it on a friend's Galaxy S... I was not aware the device didn't have an LED flash. :'(

[ROM] [Bionic] SkyL1n3 (Updated 11-2)

This beast is not for the faint of heart...proceed with caution! Neither I or xda forums are responsible for what you do to your device, so make a backup!
This is skyl1n3, originally made for the d4 by z4ch_skyl1n3. It contains beats, fully functioning inverted gnow, inverted gapps built in (no gapps needed), themed, oc'd, extra gov's and i/o scheduler, and it's fast and good on battery. It is an AOKP based rom. Included now are practically all the mods and tweaks from the original d4 version of this rom. Only difference between the 4 & 5 slot versions is an fps cap which I had to keep on the 4 slot version because it would not boot (tweak can affect stability).
v1.2 ***MUST BE ON SS3 TO INSTALL***
-support for 4 & 5 slot devices
-added camera & gallery 4.2
-added keyboard 4.2
-added CPU sleeper to maximize battery
-added back trebuchet
-added inverted gdrive, google+, google music, twitter
-added new alerts and ringtones
-updated gnow lib
Thanks & Shoutouts:
z4ch_skyl1n3 for creating this rom
sparkyman for helping me out and testing
jp1044
romdroidhacks
teamhaters & all devs out there, you know who you are...
kcm6969 for testing
Bionic_Bran for testing
To install:
-be on safestrap
-wipe data
-wipe dalvik
-format system in advanced
-install zip
(if updating from beta just wipe cache and dalvik)
Now for the goods....

Going to flash this and try it out.

So some quick feedback, it could use a couple of more ring tones and delivery notification options. It customization is very good, almost overwhelming. The battery life so far seems to be better than the Axiom rom. The data doesn't seem to like bouncing back and forth between 3g and 4G like it does were I live. I am definitely interested to see how this rom grows.

Does webtop work? And what version is this? .232?
:droid:
Looks nice, but i noticed one thing on the screen shots. Where are the power widgets on the pull down bar? Didn't see anything.

No hdmi, so no webtop. Runs great on 232 leak.

I don't see why not, but have not tested so can't say for sure. Make a backup before you flash.

i seem to have encountered a bootloop. :/ i will fxz back to stock and go to .232 leak and try again
Flashed after going to .232 and works like a charm. Only issue I've seen this far is sometimes in text messages the text doesn't show as you type. Other than that, so far I'm loving it

An odd quirk I'm having is with Alarm Clock Plus. I test my alarm and it does the tones and speaks the time like it should, but in the morning when the alarm actually goes off all my phone does is vibrate. I've run the app on other ICS roms with no issues so not sure if it is just a compatibility issue with this rom or an oddity in the audio coding. Other than that, this rom has so many amazing settings choices. I could be tweaking this for so long it will help my crack flashing addiction
EDIT: The no sound issue for alarm only happens when I have the phone on the charging dock. I left it laying on the nightstand last night and the alarm did what it is supposed to this morning. It seems that under Setting > Dock > the audio isn't even able to be selected so that may be where the issue lies.
Also, now that I have ditched my D3 in favor of my Bionic, these are some other things I have found.
Seems to be some glitching in the screen rotation (ie. shrinks and then pops back when rotating.)
I have lost the phone function screen when on calls (ie. all I see is the notification bar)
Other than that, everything else is wonderful. Compared to the ICS issues I had on the D3, i'm loving having the bluetooth working clearly and camera function.
Thank you for porting this and for the original dev who put it together. Can't wait to see what you throw our way post Beta
EDIT: I'm starting feel like I'm the only one running this So, I've also found the Torch does not function, both in the notification icons and the power menu. I am also getting a battery drop abruptly from around 40 that goes down to 20. I have done a battery stat wipe and the run down and charge up, that's the only fix I can remember from my D1 days.
I've tried every time for the Bionic, and and this is by far the best rom. The only issue is the gallery forecloses when you try to crop a pic. Camera, camcorder, and panoramic works. I decided to replace this cam (4.2) with the stock (4.0) ICS camera and gallery. This rom is very stable, and fast. A lot of customizations with this rom. When I have more then 3 issues with a rom, I don't use it anymore. This rom, the only issue was the gallery.

I'm using it to. You're not the only one.. Lol. torch works for me, but I'm using the stock ICS camera and gallery. It didn't work for me when I was using the 4.2 camera. There's a setting for the battery 1% mod. I have a extended battery, which all rooms misread anyway. That's why it drops like that. Use the battery circle mod, it reads it better.

Thanks Furious, I'll check out the battery mod. I'm downloading the update now and see how the 4.2 camera/gallery behave for me.

I'm going to try this rom and I'll report back what I find.
*Edit* Ok, Rom installed and working fantastic. I was able to get wifi tether to work however, without encryption. Also, if you turn on and off wifi tether in numerous succession my phone crashed. I'm also experiencing a huge battery drop from 58% to 47% within 10 minutes after initial install of the rom. That's ok, I use the phone alot on wifi and lte. Thank you for this rom

BUG OR? Unofficial SlimBean build I9295 20140209-1333

Ok so I jst installed the SlimBean ROM on my SGS4A and it seems to be working really fine, all features are working pretty well.
Tho, there's a bug i found, there is like 1 cm wide area on the downside of the screen where i can't use my touchscreen on. I can't unlock or scroll through options. It works good on keyboard type tho. Seems to be like a "locked part of the screen".
It happens right under the locker image on the lock screen, and usually, on the last item of any list. eg settings.
Probably better off asking in the Slimbean thread in General.

T3 users: suggestions of VisionX 5.11 or Maximum OvrDriVE 5.11

Anyone wish to share how their experience is?
I'm currently running Tekxodus URV1 5.11 and its fine but my issues are:
-poor battery life (Android OS culprit)
-Hate the status bar mods you cant take off (click top right turns off phone...interferes with swipe down to multi window)
Thank you

Which Kernel are you on. My battery life has been way better on this rom. (BeastMode Kernel)
Also the status bar mod you refer to can be reverted to stock. There is a download in the Tekxodus OP to change this.
Now questions for your... How was the T3 for you when on stock? Were there any bugs or quirks? How long did you run on stock? Trying to figure out if my phone was faulty or if it was the firmware that comes with the T3.
Thanks!

Mega is close to finalizing a V11 for the T3. He might put on a separate thread. I would send him a PM to confirm.

Not familiar with VisionX , but have been running Ovrdrive for last couple of days - so far so good!
Sent from my SM-N910T3 using XDA Free mobile app
I'm using Ovrdrive and like you, i hated the status bar mods that I couldn't remove. What I winded up doing was just grabbing a stock system.UI apk and just giving it proper proper permission when i dropped it in the system/priv app folder and it solved that problem for me.
As for kernal, i use the emotion kernal. I work security overnight and im LITERALLY always on my phone from the start of my shift to the end and i get about a good 6 hours of heavy use. I'm talking Nintendo DS emulator with music app / Youtube the entire time. The fact that this kernal lets me use wifi calling is a big plus also.

Hardware Key Light Will Not Work On Any Note 8 Port, Due to The Software Buttons On The Note 8 And No Capacative buttons
Personal opinion and bugs
Hello alexega,
first of all. This rom is great! Job well done
But the reason I write to you is because I noticed some bugs while setting everything up.
1. You can't unlock the phone with the fingerprint scanner, if you don't press the power key. So if you don't wake up the display.
2. The screen resolution doesn't change. The (app) icons are not sharp and the scale of the hole display isn't changing at HD+ to FHD+ to WQHD+.
3. You can't configure the network speed settings in status bar. (At least I didn't found it)
4. In your custom settings menu is no "back button" like in the original one.
So far.. now I switched back to your Oreo Rom.. the main reason is the display resolution.. it makes the look of your phone bad. You can see in close distance the single pixels of pictures, icons, etc.
I would really appreciate if you could fix this bug!
Great new Rom!
Pedda
EDIT: I am using the S8+ (G955F).
And could you change the battery information in settings for the different devices? 3000mAh for S8 (G950F/FD), 3500mAh for S8+ (G955F/FD), 3300mAh for N8 (N950F/DS).
Good day. Is the Oreo rom for S7 edge? Can you share link please? Is it working better than Lineage Room?
