[Q] I537 stuck on 4.2.2 - Galaxy S 4 Active Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Okay, I'm a bit confused here.
I've got an S4 Active on 4.2.2, which is the OS I received it with.
I purchased it from the USA, got it shipped to me in Canada, unlocked it, and activated it on Telus.
I can't get OTA updates because Telus in Canada doesn't even carry this phone (so I still have the ATT rom on it). However, when I plug it in and fire up Kies, it says "This is the latest firmware. Current firmware version: PDA:MF3 / PHONE:MF3 / CSC:MF3 (ATT)"
Additional Info
Baseband: I537UCUAMF3, Kernel is 3.4.0-784654
Build: JDQ39.I537UCUAMF3
SELinux status: Permissive
Secure boot status: Type:Samsung
Any suggestions for what to do in order to update the OS on this phone?

Personally I would HIGHLY recommend that you would stay on 4.2.2 as 4.3 doesn't add much and you lose the data toggle in the notification. It might be just me but my ozone got cramps after I updated

[Q] [Help] Will Rooting Device ReLock it again?

My device was sent to Carphone Warehouse (Verified Repair Shop UK) for a screen reapir. I burnt out the digitizer when I flashed something ment for the Galaxy Note 2. Used triangle away and reverted back to stock before sending. Came back flashed with stock Vodafone ROM, orginally on stock Three Rom. It's a contract phone which I got directly from Three. Sent to Samsung, returns still running stock Vodafone ROM but now unlocked for Three Sim. If I root the phone and install CWM with it revert back to a Vodafone lock? What did they actually do to the phone at Samsung, I'm guessing they flashed a new kernel. (I'm an amatuer when it comes to this)
Phone Details:

Whats the difference between i9305XXUEMK1 and I9305XXUEML9?
Thanks
rooting or installing CWM or installing any firmware you want it won't lock it...you can do it no problem...
the difference between those to is the date they have been released...it's a code that say region,country,date...coded in samsung way.

Unlocked AT&T S6 and updates

I am out of the US with an unlocked AT&T S6 G920A.
Firmware is still OCE
Questions:
- Will I receive OTA updates? I have a gophone sim card, does it help?
- What if I go to the US, put the gophone sim card? Will I get OTA updates?
- Can I manually update the firmware?
Thanks!!
and btw, Smart Switch shows:
Latest Software Version: OCE(ATT)
and on Emergency Software Recovery and Initialization it shows
Current Version: PDA: OCE / PHONE: OCE / CSC OCE
Latest Version: (it is just just blank)
I have an unlocked AT&T S6 Edge on T-Mobile, bought it with OF3 on it, received the OF4 update and it installed fine. To be safe, I suggest connecting to wi-fi to make sure you download it.
Mine is still on OCE and phone says that no update is available.
Do you have roaming data allowed? Just a suggestion, no idea if it will make any difference.
No. I do not have an international data package.
That might be needed to allow the phone to communicate with att to request the update?
If it is an AT&T phone you will only get OTA updates on the AT&T network. Otherwise you will have to try and manually update through Kies.

Yeah..sorry...old habit....it is possible the latest updates have not been added to Smart Switch yet.
I have just updated to G920AUCU2AOF3 using ODIN and the files from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s6/general/odin-files-g920aucu2aof3-update-t3169222
It worked just fine. Now, I just have to wait for the OF4 files.
But having to install and configure all applications is a pain. I wish I have a way to update OTA.

Galaxy S5 Active AT&T (SM-G870A) Software Update Help?!

Hello guys;
First of all, Let me post my phone software info:
Android Version: 4.4.2
Build Number: KOT49H.G870AUCU1ANG3
Phone Location: out USA
I tried all methods available to update my phone at least lollipop not even Marshmallow! and every time i get the message "The is the latest software update available to your phone"!
I tried the software update inside settings, Kies 3 (also emergency recovery method), Smart Switch, AT&T SIM Card inserted with USA VPN...etc)...non of them worked for me!
Does any one manage to have a legit Lollipop or Marshmallow Odin Stock Flash?!
I saw some methods over recovery with OTA update packages but it is too risky since there is no Stock ROM for the device in Sammobile also i am afraid to brick the device or losing IMEI and no service Box is supporting it!
looking for your help!?

Thats becuz there isnt for att yet. Therr are over the airs for 5.0 but nothing else. And the update to 5.1 but its stock and unrooted you have to be rooted im sure for that and using flashfire for it so it just changes rom and not bootloader . Allowing you to still downgrade back.

Doing hours and hours of research and fact digging, I guess either I've read the wrong things, or haven't found the right thing to read, but my question seems simple enough.
My Phone: AT&T LG V40 Thinq
Software Version: V405UA10n
Android Version: 8.1.0
Kernel Version: 4.9.65
Build Number: OPM1.171019.026
Android Security Patch: March 1st, 2019
There appears to be no known root for this device, I actually paid OneClickRoot to root my phone, and received a refund just as fast. In my looking around, I noticed that you have to have an unlocked bootloader to be able to root your phone, now with this being said, the European model: EU LMV405EBW does have the availability of an unlocked bootloader and the availability of root.
I downloaded the kdz of the EU LMV405EBW and before I go jackin everything up, I want to know if it's at all possible or "just a given" that since the phone can be unlocked, will my US AT&T sim card work in the unlocked EU version of the phone...?

So, we might have to wait until someone comes up with an idea which i doubt they will cause this phone is soo underrated.

I had a similar situation, I had a lm-405ua that I wanted to flash to a TW 405ebw firmware. I used the information from https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v40/how-to/guide-lgup-root-t3967858 and all went fine.

Hi. I'm having the AT&T version (LM-V405UA). Can I cross-flash firmware on this model? If so, what kind of firmware (name, type) should I need to pay attention to? Thanks.

You can read the link above I provided on info regarding cross-flashing using LGUP.
In terms of what you flash, what is the problem you are trying to solve by flashing a different firmware? In my case I wanted a regional firmware that supported voice over wifi with my telco.

Questions about flashing G920A (AT&T) firmware onto a Tmobile G920T

Hello,
I have some noob questions to ask before trying this out on my G920T (Baseband version: G920TUVS6FRC1 - which is running Android 7.0). Here's a little bit of background about my situation, I was with Tmobile Prepaid up until the end of December 2019. I ended up getting my phone unlocked by Tmobile and transferred my number to an AT&T Prepaid account.
I was looking to try and get HD Voice/wifi calling working on my unlocked G920T. My question is, when flashing different carrier firmwares, does it matter what the storage capacity of the phone is? Would I be able to flash G920A firmware (no matter if it came from a 32GB Samsung S6, or 128GB (not sure if AT&T ever had a 128GB version of this phone)?
Also I read that it is better to use the princecomsy (my apologies if I messed up on the name) version of Odin rather than the non-cracked versions. Is that correct?
Would I be able to flash different carrier firmwares regardless if my bootloader is locked?
Thank you to anyone that can help.
