[Q] double media files

hi to all.
I have a galaxy s2, and a nas server, i use skifta to read and play me media.
I rename some files, after that i connect to the nas and I see the files that i rename whit the old name and are duplicate name files, if i press on the file nothing plays because it does not exist whit that name. I know the problem is on the phone because i deleted the skifta and install another similar app. and had the same problem.
My question is there a file, cache or something that is storing this names or data and can be clear

its a cache problem of the app just clear the cache and reboot, will fix the issue.

Also clear the media data in settings apps all
After reboot wait at least 15 minutes to see all your media it worked for me good luck

[Q] Allshare force closes EVERY time

Hi all
Last week got the N700XXLA4 update.
Now I am unable to use Allshare to play back videos (or music) on my Note. The vids are on my Netgear NAS. Allshare sees the NAS, allows me to browse the folders, shows the vids, but when I try to play one, the screen turns black, and after about 10 - 20 seconds, I receive an error message. "sorry Allshare needs to close, please try again later" or somesuch.
Restarted the phone, did not help.
Anyone else having this problem? Ideas how to solve it?

Clearing the app cache may help..

Sorry to say that clearing the cache did not help.
Am I correct in assuming I am the only one who has this problem? Can you guys use Allshare to playback videos (stored on a NAS) on your Note?

Please send them in a fresh box through UPS. I hope you have been working out and they are strong and reliable.
Did not change anything. My device is not rooted - I don't even think it is possible to change the dpi if not rooted.
Anyway, I found a work around. I just use ES file explorer, browse to the NAS shared folders, and open the vid files like that. Then they stream.
Still, bugs me that Allshare won't do it.

[Q] Movies App crashing - Video Can't Play error

My xperia Z1 giving me strange problem after 4.3 update. Movies app is giving lot of problems while playing video. Some time its playing videos normally, but many times its crashes and giving error window "Video can't Play" then i have to restart my mobile. in 4.2.2 everything was working perfectly, but now same videos in movies app giving problems while playing.. please somebody help.. and what type of video and codec format we can use in xperia Z1?

Have you tried wiping data of the movie app and video unlimited?

Really don't know. I dont have such or any issues so far as I did a full wipe before updating to 4.3. Did You?
I will suggest you remove the app and reinstall the latest update from Sony update centre. See how it plays out.

How to remove or uninstall the Movies app? there is no option to uninstall it.. can u plz tel how i can uninstall and reinstall it again ?

It can't uninstall but you can uninstall the recent update. After that clear data and then update again thru the update centre.

Try MX Player https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mxtech.videoplayer.ad&hl=en is very good and support HD movies and AVCHD, is all about codecs.
See if it crashes, if not is the Movie app on your phone.

found solution for this
Finally i found solution for this problem... i just uninstalled "Video unlimited" add and now everything working fine.. because of the integration of Video unlimited my Movies app was crashing... now after uninstalling video unlimited everything working fine... :laugh:

Double cast icons on stock chromecast after installing newest play services update

I installed the latest play services update so I could get Allcast working on chromecast. After installing it I got double cast icons when trying to use google music as shown in the attached pictures and they dont work reliably anymore. Anybody else experiencing the same issues and have a fix? I also installed a roku recently and not sure if that may also have something to do with the chromecast not behaving properly.

I assume you've rebooted since installing the Play Services update?
Roku shouldn't affect Chromecast.
Try rebooting your router in case it's some UPnP caching thing.

Odd since my device has the opposite affect....
I only have one CCast listing for each (I have two in use), But I have two entries for each XBMC on my Network.
I just figured it may be due to DLNA and UPnP both being supported by XBMC ad Allcast seeing each as a different target.

Thanks for the tips. Rebooted my router and it didnt change. I tried to cast using my windows laptop and each chromecast was only displayed 1 time and worked just fine so my issue is android specific. I am using a stock nexus 5. I also tried clearing cache and data on the chromecast android app and that did not work.

I saw that an AllCast update went out today so maybe it was a known bug that got fixed in the update...
Check the play Store to see if there is an Update available.

Force stop AllCast.
Flush apps Data and Cache.
Eventually if your phone is rooted, flush dalvik cache.
Reboot phone, it should work after reboot.
It's possible that you use illegitimate copy of a program, in such a case users with illegitimate copies usually uninstall and install app again.

Deleted allcast and the roku symbol on google music is gone which is good because when i tried to click roku on the cast pulldown menu in the google music app it would not do anything. But after restarting the phone the double chromecast icons are still there. I cant revert to the old version of the google play services which I feel may be the culprit for google music to be acting strange.

Same here get the double cast icons and neither one works

Samsung Browser - downloaden Video instead of playing it.

Every other browser is playing the video correctly.

BTW I have the Rhinoshield Bumper... Today I ordered the back protector and came across the problem.
Resetted all the standard app settings and globally revoked all permissions, even uninstalled... problem still persists.

Am I the only one with this strange problem on this website?

It did the same for me also. It saved the mp4 on my SD card.

So, what happens in other browsers? Does it play within the website, or does it go into Video mode? You might have set default action to Downloads. When I went to the website, it asked me to either OPEN or Download. I selected OPEN and with Video Player and it started playing.

I did have the same problem. Not sure how I mitigated it but I no longer have that problem. And at one point nothing would even happen when clicking play it wouldn't even download anymore, I think I deleted Samsung beta and disabled samsun internet and cleared cache in recovery. If all else fails factory reset I presume

I encountered the same issue using Samsung Browser 6. First time I clicked the link it as me to choose Video Player or Download. I didn't choose either & closed the pop up but it defaulted to download anyway. Then anytime I visited the page it would download the mp4. That is pretty annoying.
I also tried resetting app deafult but no matter what I couldn't get that pop up again asking which app to use, I tried clearing app data for Downloads Manager & even freezing it but could never get that pop up to appear again.
I had made a nandroid earlier that day so I restored. This time when I got the pop up I choose Video Player & it would play it instead of downloading. But it wouldn't set as default so everytime I visited the page it would always ask me.
Now I'm using Samsung Browser 7. With 7 it never asked my to choose Video Player or Downloads, it always prompts you asking to save the file. At least it doesn't automatically download it anymore & no need to delete the mp4s everytime you visit the page.

I chose video player when I got the pop up and it streamed it fine. However, upon checking the whole mp4 was still downloaded onto my SD card.
