I don't get it!!!! (Root) - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I am trying for 4 hours now to root my Xperia SP, but I just DON'T get it! Unlocked, locked BL, firmware, kernel, flash, flashtool.....
As I said, I have: Sony Xperia SP Android 4.3, Model Number: C5303, Build-Number: 12.1.A.1.201, and I DON'T know if I have an unlocked or locked Bootloader..."Rooting Status: Bootloader unlock allowed: No", I think that's locked, right?
I've tried everything! Flash mode, fast boot, then installed properly the drivers (Windows 8.1, disabling driver signature verification, etc.), 10 methods to root with CWM, 10 methods with revovery etc....
Anyways please, please, please, I implore!!..COULD anyone do a "TOATAL NEWBIE Tutorial: HOW to root Xperia SP" or even send me a link to a tutorial, maybe i missed one, but I don't think so ....Jailbreaking an iPhone was so much easier, why the hell did I had to loose it, costed me nearly a salary..
Nevermind,I know that's too much asked for, but I would be so so happy, if anyone could offer his help!
Fabian

Since this firmware doesn't have yet an exploit to root you must first downgrade using this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658952 and then root 4.1.2 with doomlord toolkit

Thanks, but I get trouble at step one with the right ftf file. I can't ask in that thread...I am from Austria, is it a problem if I download a ftf from UK or RU etc.?

Ok thanks, I'll try that out. Could it be possible to chat with you (skype etc.) if something goes wrong or have questions while I am doing this?
See, like now. I am at step 5, where I have to turn off the device and start in flash mode so that the flashing can begin, but the device just doesn't want to boot in flash mode...I switched it off, hold the volume up button then while pressing it plugged the device and still doesn't work... flashtool it says something: 21:58 "Please connect your device into flash mode"
22:01 "Device connected with USB debugging off.....For 2011 devie line,...."
but I DO HAVE debug on in settings!

Go to development section and search for CWM recovery. You will find a version from DooMLoRD with instructions.
Edit : my bad, DooMLoRD version isn't there.
Use this one it's the best : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2649923

There it says: "This Recovery is for JB 4.3 Stock based ROMS, maybe don't work in other ROMs. For 4.1.2 roms can use this"
should click the link next to that and go for that tut or should I go for this tutorial? Because I am on 4.1.2

And why doesn't my Internet function? Only Wifi works but mobile data transfer (3G, H+, etc) doesn't work. Is that cause of the root/downgrade? Or maybe because I installed an Hungary ftf and I live in Austira?
And one more: this guide...this is only a 4.3 recovery install right? and not a pre-rooted one?

[Q] Xperia Z nearly dead!

I Have a question regarding my Xperia Z.
I tried to flash a generic version of android 4.4 on my xperia Z, and something went terribly wrong.
After trying to flash it on my phone, it wouldn't advance past the booting screen (the sony logo), and when I plug it in to charge it seems to get in some sort of weird boot loop with the phone powering on and off not getting past the sony logo, powering of again etc. etc.
The device is rooted and has a unlocked bootloader. I already tried restoring it with emma, and I tried flashing a generic version of the unbranded firmware with flashtool. but nothing seems to help. Does anyone have any ideas how this problem can be resolved?

All informations needed are already posted mutliple times on this forum, you need to search a little bit
To root 4.3 rom you have 2 choices atm
- Without Unlocking bootloader : read this thread (need to downgrade to 4.2 first) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588442
- If you don't care unlocking bootloader ( backup TA partition first) --> follow this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2590602 ( you need unlocked bootloader and to flash the CM 10.2 boot img)

May be a bad ftf - try another ftf (a 4.1 one for exemple ) - always exclude ta files if present.

Please any advice or help will be much appreciated, I've done a lot of reading but there is lots of information floating about this problem and is hard to know whether I'm reading all the relevant info.
I found I made a mistake with the unlock, which explains why couldn't flash the kernel.
The IMEI I had wasn't the right one. I took the number out of the battery since the phone doesn't start and couldn't use the #60#
Once I used the flashtool-> BLU option and accepted the suggested IMEI and went and got the code from sony page and then it worked.
Then went and booted in fastboot mode and still couldn't use the kernel. Hower using command line it succeeded.
Code:
/Applications/FlashTool.app/Contents/MacOS/x10flasher_lib/fastboot.mac -i 0xfce flash boot boot.img
sending 'boot' (10132 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.330s]
writing 'boot'...
OKAY [ 0.500s]
finished. total time: 0.831s
still nothing changed but it says to me that i should keep going
I'm in the same situation as you. Did you solved it?

I am also in the same situation after LCD change, but with a Z2. Exactly the same problem...
See my input in this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/help/changed-lcd-dead-battery-t2979912
I really put a lot of time in this problem.... I am convinced I did not damage anything during the screen exchange. It must be software-hardware problem. Kernel Panic? Incompatible hardware?
Update 20160407: Someone has the same problem with a Z3 (on the Sony forum)
I've finally solved it using this mod http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/help/hardware-fix-xperia-z-charging-booting-t2760911

Flashtool: 'Error flashing. Aborted' with no other error message.

Hi everyone.
I'm really confused about this. I'm trying to downgrade the firmware on my Z3c to then go on and root but I'm stuck at the very beginning.
I installed Flashtool and the drivers (had to deactivate driver signature verification for them to install correctly, but now all of them are installed). I installed the Sony PC companion with the support zone addon (not sure it makes a difference).
I downloaded the firmware from 2 different sources.
Developer options and usb debugging are on.
I charged the phone.
I tried with the latest Flashtool version anb the previous one.
But all the times I get the following error message. It basically starts printing out stuff and after a few seconds it says error, aborted. There is no other error message and this really drives me crazy because I have no idea what's wrong. Searching online results in people asking for help when there is at least another error message.
In this case there is nothing.
In the log below, note the time for every message. In the phone nothing changed, it still boots up normally with the 5.1.1 Sony firmware.
I even tried to change the usb cable but it's always the same.
It would be great if some of you were able to pinpoint the source of this problem. I've had and loved this phone for the last few months and I finally decided to root it, but being stuck at the very beginning I'm kind of disappointed at the process.
Thanks

Which version of flashtool are you running? I have been unable to flash with version 0.9.18.6 or above
You might want to download the old version of flashtool and try again, see if it works on 0.9.18.5. If you are unable to find it I might still have it on my PC.

You know this is the Z3 compact thread?
I am just wondering why you are trying to flash firmware for an Xperia C
I would start from the beginning and go through this great guide here. Once you have a copy of your TA partition and your bootloader unlocked, try and flash again.
I am facing errors in flashing z3 are there solutions to flashtool errors win 10 32bit
